We're on number thirty. Didn't think that would happen. Okay, I'm sorry for the lack of updates on anything recently. I was in a minor block in creativity but I'm okay now.
Here's an update :D
Chapter 30 - Catching Up
You couldn't believe it.
Your only living relatives, your cousins Ren and Sean, were actually in the same place you were.
What are the odds?
"So why did you dye your hair, Aki?" Ren asked, reaching down and mussing your bangs. "No reason." You lied and attempted to brush your chestnut locks off your eyes.
"Really, now?" Sean gave you one of the most evil smirks you have ever lived to see and raised an eyebrow, "The Aki I know doesn't randomly change her hair color. What's the real reason?"
The three of you walked side-by-side through the town as it slowly turned populated, bustling to the brim with merchants and their patrons. You struggled to stay close to Ren as what seemed like thousands of people brushed past.
Sounds erupted from all sides - People talking and/or yelling, stomping footsteps, and the faintest sonance that seemed so familiar to you.
"Aki! Hey!" You looked over your shoulder, startled by the steadily growing call of your name and saw, to your surprise, Edward running toward you with Alphonse close behind him.
Ren and Sean followed your gaze and raised their eyebrows simultaneously, "Do you know these guys, Aki?" Ren asked. Sean blinked rapidly, eyes wide, at the giant that was Alphonse and let his mouth drop incredulously.
"Kind of," You answered, rolling your eyes and taking a step towards the approaching boys, "What took you so long?" You asked, simpering slightly at Edward's frown.
"You--Are--An--Idiot." He gasped out between great intakes of air. "Are you okay? Did you get lost?" Alphonse asked, walking up next to his jaded older brother.
"I'm fine." You shrugged, "I managed to misplace myself for a few minutes. Did you eat well?" You asked, bending down with a slightly annoyed frown to Edward.
"We didn't eat yet." He glared back and straightened himself, "We were almost at a restaurant when we realized you got yourself disoriented." He brushed his coat off and peered over your shoulder. "Who're these guys?"
"Aw!" You heard Ren exclaim from behind you. Before you could turn, she placed her hands on your shoulders, rested her chin on top of your head and peeked down at Edward.
"You're so cute!" She gushed and leaned on you, making you teeter slightly. "What're you, ten, twelve?" She asked.
He shot a glare at her and crossed his arms, "I'm fifteen." He growled.
"Awfully short." Sean commented, standing next to you and almost towered over the little alchemist. "You sure you're not eight?"
You slapped your forehead and waited for Edward's tantrum to begin.
