One Shot\\ Forget That Boy, You're Coming With Me\\ Alex Davies

Layout By Click-Clique-Layouts This is kind of a fluffy story, and it's sort of craply written >< Enjoy anyway! (For those who don't know, Alex Davies is in the band Elliot Minor)

Alex Davies was always one to go for what he wanted, regardless of whether it's moral. In Alex Davies' vocabulary, the words 'shy' and 'scared' doesn't exist. In fact, I'm pretty sure the reason his band were successful was because he actually did something and didn't wait for it to happen. Or maybe he's just damn lucky.
I woke up on the day of my wedding with a sense of dread. Which is kind of funny, seeing as I always imagined feeling excited on my wedding day, not dreading it. I got out of bed and called to my sister Sophia, "Is it normal to dread getting married on the actual day?".
She ambled out of her room, squinting at me and said, "No, Lil, it's not normal. But because you're marrying a guy you haven't known a year and we both know you should be with Alex, it's probably what you should feel."
I rolled my eyes, "Sophi, I haven't seen Alex in ages and besides, I feel like Connor's the one for me. Mum and Dad don't have a problem, so just forget abut Alex."
I suppose I should explain a bit, no? I knew Alex throughout school, and I knew his bandmates too. About half a year ago, while out shopping with Sophia, I bumped into him and she is convinced we have chemistry.
Sophia tutted and said, "Fine, if you insist. But when we saw him last, he was definitely flirting with you, even though you're too dense to realize it."
"No, he wasn't!", I grabbed one of my pillows and threw it at her,"Come on, Mum's probably wondering where we are."
and on and on...
A few hours later, my make-up and hair was done and all that was left was to put my dress on. Thankfully, everyone left me to do it myself once I asked them too. I stared at my reflection in the mirror once I had my dress on and tried to imagine myself standing at the altar beside Connor. I just couldn't see it happening and instead imagined myself next to Alex. This time, I could actually see myself next to him. I sat down on a chair and sighed loudly. The door opened behind me and I said without looking, "Can you please leave me alone?". "Forgive me if I'm mistaken, but the bride should generally be happy on her wedding day.", Alex said as he shut the door behind him and sat down next to me. "I am happy, Alex", I said, to which he gave me his signature yeah right look, "It's just, I'm not sure Connor's the one. Sophia's right, I do hardly know him. I think I rushed into this marriage, but my mum was nagging me because I didn't so much as glance at guys and so I rushed into the first thing that came along just to shut them up."
"Well," he said, looking me straight in the eye, "I have a proposition for you."
"Yeah?"
"How about, you forget Connor or whatever he's called and come with me.", he said, dead serious, "We can elope, or do anything you want."
I stared at him, shocked, "I d-don't understand."
"Lily, I've always liked you and I dropped so many obvious hints, but you never saw me as more than friends and I guess when Sophia told me you were engaged, I realized I was in love with you.", he said, pulling me up as he stood up. Then his lips met mine as his arms wrapped themselves around me. I kissed him back and as stupid as it sounds, I think my knees nearly gave way.
"Come on, Lil," he whispered, "Let's ditch this party."
That was all it took to convince me. I shooed him out of the room with a smile and changed back into my jeans and top. Afterwards, I sat down on the floor and wrote a letter.

...
Dear Connor,
I'm guessing when you see this you'll know I've gone. You've been a perfect gentleman, but I think I rushed into this relationship and I can't marry you. So being the coward I am, I left without saying it in person. I'm sure at some point I might have loved you, but I never was in love with you. I'm sorry, but I think you'll find the right person at some point.
Love, Lily.

And now? I'm married to a lovely guy, who, even though he stole me away from my first try at a wedding, my parents adore and I'm also proud mother to a little girl called Esme. And I couldn't be happier,

LAME ending.
