"Wait, wait, wait," Jason came to a halt on the sidewalk and turned Keeley to face him, "You're a model? What kind of model?"
Keeley laughed and shook her head at him, "The super kind," She pointed out. Jason looked down at her and Keeley smiled at the thought process he was going through.
The two had been dating for quite sometime now and Keeley was starting to get comfortable with the fact that she was spending most of her free time with Jason. She had met him at one of the shows that her friend had dragged her to and while said friend was talking with her cousin (who was in the same band Jason played in), Keeley and Jason hit it off and ended up going on a date as soon as Jason was back home from touring.
"So that explains all the expensive clothes and the badass apartment and the whole closet full of shoes? And the walk, that totally explains the walk."
"Basically," Keeley shrugged and laughed as Jason shook his head, seeming to be overwhelmed by the knowledge he had just received.
"Why didn't you tell me before now?" Jason asked, taking Keeley's hand in his own again and continuing their walk down the sidewalk.
"I don't know. I guess I didn't want you to use me for my money," Keeley laughed again and Jason scoffed, looking down at her.
"Why would I do that? You're amazing even without your money and killer fish tank," Jason stated.
The two turned onto Main St. and headed to the small diner that they had deemed "their" restaurant a few weeks back. Keeley glanced up at Jason as they walked and she smiled softly at the smile he had tugging at the corner of his lips. She looked back down at the ground when she felt the anxious feeling she had been getting lately when she was around Jason rise in the pit of her stomach and make it's way up and to her chest, somewhat restricting her breathing and closing up her throat. She sighed just to get the feeling to go away and Jason looked down at her.
"What was that for?" He asked, smiling that oh-so-bright smile of his. Keeley laughed at the way his septum piercing raised a little and she shook her head, holding his hand tighter.
"No, c'mon. Why'd you sigh?" Jason stopped in the middle of the sidewalk and planted his feet firmly to the ground, "I refuse to move until you tell me."
"Jason, really; it was nothing," Keeley pulled on his hand and laughed when she realized that Jason was, in fact, not going to budge until she told him... or made up a decent excuse not to. She sighed and let go of his hand, "Fine. I sighed because I was a little chilly. It got really cold all of a sudden."
"Well, why didn't you just say so?" Jason asked, wrapping his arm around Keeley's shoulder as they set off back down the sidewalk, "I would have kept you warmer before now."
Keeley laughed again and blushed, letting her arm slide around Jason's waist and her fingers tickled him a little, causing him to jump slightly and cast her, what was supposed to be a mean look, but only turned out to be the cutest thing Keeley had seen in a long time. She just laughed and shook her head lightly at Jason's antics and the remainder of the walk to the diner was in silence.
"Are you alright, Jason?" Keeley asked once they had already ordered their food. Jason had been extremely quiet ever since they arrived at the small diner and he sat across from her looking distracted.
"Yeah, I'm fine," Jason said, laughing a little. He sighed and leaned back in the booth, yawning, "A little sleepy, but I'm good."
Keeley laughed and took a drink of her Sprite, "Too much Halo last night?"
"Too much of Craig being a whiny drunk boy," Jason laughed again, "Something about how his girlfriend thinks he needs help or something. I hate when people do that, y'know? When they tell someone that 'hey, you need some help there with your head' and then like... you're perfectly fine. Craig's perfectly fine; I have no idea why she's doing this to him."
"Maybe she's cheating," Keeley suggested, shrugging her shoulders, "I mean think about it. Maybe she's telling him that because she wants him to get pissed and leave her just so she won't have to go through the trouble of breaking up with him."
"You do have a point," Jason placed his elbows on the edge of the table and rested his head in his hands and looked at Keeley. She wasn't paying attention to him and he took the opportunity to really look at her. He smiled softly to himself as she subconsciously played with the tips of her brown hair. He had been looking at her all of two minutes when she glanced up at him and immediately glanced back down when she saw that he was staring at her. Jason laughed when he saw she was blushing.
"Yay for awkward staring," he said, just as the waiter brought their food.
Keeley smiled and shook her head, "I could feel you looking at me but I didn't want to say anything."
"Well, I apologize. You're too beautiful not to look at." Jason smirked and Keeley blushed an even deeper red and then pointed at Jason's plate.
"Start eating and stop trying to win your way into my pants, Jason Hale."
"Hey, if I wanted in your pants, I wouldn't even have to say anything. All I'd have to do is kiss you because you absolutely love that, remember?"
"Oh yeah, because I'm so easy," Keeley replied sarcastically, "Seriously though."
"Yes. For serious, yo," Jason replied and Keeley laughed again, shaking her head.
"You're so silly."
"But you love it."
Keeley started to reply with a sarcastic comment but she really thought about what he had just said, and whether it would be weird replying to his comment with a 'yeah, I do'. She brushed it off and then looked back up at Jason who was looking at her with an eyebrow raised. She knew he had noticed that she hesitated to say something, but he obviously brushed it off when he looked back down at his plate and picked up a French fry.
Minutes passed and the two had finished their dinner, paid the waitress and headed back out into the warm summer evening. Jason's arm immediately found its way around Keeley's shoulders and she relaxed into his side, grateful to have a source of heat. Jason laughed softly, "Do you want me to get a jacket for you out of my car?"
"You don't have to; I mean, I can manage," Keeley shrugged.
"Nonsense, my car is right here," Jason stopped walking and Keeley completely forgot that they parked not too far from the diner and she laughed as Jason opened the back door and quickly pulled out a jacket and handed it to her.
"Thank you," she said, slipping it on. It was a little big on her but she didn't mind considering it smelled exactly like Jason's cologne, but she snuggled up in it anyway and she and Jason continued with their walk.
Jason's arm was back around Keeley's shoulder and he pulled her close, pressing a kiss to the side of her head. They didn't say anything else until they had reached the lake front and Jason stopped suddenly, pulling Keeley against his chest. He wrapped his arms around her and looked out over the water. Keeley sighed, resting her head against Jason's chest and she rubbed the skin on his back through the fabric of his shirt.
"So, I apologize for the crappy date," Jason said, breaking the silence after a few minutes of just standing there holding Keeley in his arms. Keeley laughed softly, sending chills up Jason's spine and she lifted her head up and kissed Jason's chin softly.
"Don't worry about it. I enjoy spending time with you no matter what's involved. You know this already," she told him, pulling away a little so she could look up into his blue eyes and he looked back down at her, smiling softly.
Keeley glanced at Jason's lips and then back up to his eyes, giving him a slight hint that she wanted him to kiss her, and he smirked and shook his head lightly. Keeley gave him a small glare and then shrugged her shoulders, suddenly pushing her lips against Jason's. He inhaled sharply through his nose and then moved his hands to hold her head as he deepened their kiss.
Keeley was starting to believe what Jason had said earlier about how if he wanted to get in her pants at anytime; all he'd have to do was kiss her. Keeley closed her eyes tight and blocked out anything that wasn't Jason and his kisses, and her hand tangled in his hair, pulling him closer. Jason stepped closer to her and gave her what she wanted, pressing their hips together lightly. They kissed for a few minutes before Jason pulled away, and Keeley smiled softly as Jason pressed their foreheads together and wrapped his arms around Keeley's tiny waist.
Jason kissed the tip of Keeley's nose and sighed softly, pulling her into a tight hug.
"Why did you sigh?" Keeley asked, laughing softly.
"No reason," Jason said softly, burying his face in Keeley's hair. He took in her scent and everything else about this moment and then pulled back and looked in her eyes, "Have you felt like there's this strange feeling I get when I'm around you, like it's right here," Jason pointed to right under his rib cage and kept looking straight into Keeley's eye, "And I don't ever want it to go away because I like it there, y'know? I mean, I dont even know what I'm trying to tell you right because it's all coming wrong and this isn't going exactly like I'd want it to, but, life isn't perfect."
"Of course, it's not, Jason; now," Keeley took both of Jason's hands in hers, holding them down at his sides, "What do you want to say?"
"Keeley" Jason started and then sighed and bit his lip, "I -- I have fallen in love with you."
Keeley laughed softly, and then pressed her lips to Jason's, "You're such a dork, you know that right?"
Jason's face fell and he pouted slightly, "I'm not a dork."
"You just put things in weird ways, Jay," Keeley smiled up at him and patted his cheek, "I love you, too."
Jason crinkled his nose at Keeley's nickname for him and then laughed softly, leaning in to kiss Keeley again. She smiled into the kiss and then pulled away and they headed back to Jason's car, hand-in-hand.
