Ellie poked her fork at Mikey. He sputtered, his mouth full of buttered noodles. Pasta A La Ellie. Mikey continued laughing while Ellie chuckled along at her own joke. There was a heavy, fast knock on the paneled door. Mikey flung his bedroom door open, racing down the steps and almost falling all over himself in a frenzy to get to the door. Ellie was surprised when instead throwing the door open like she expected he placed a hand on the doorknob first calling out. "Who is it?" His voice came out shockingly high-pitched and squeaky. Ellie expected it out of a 80 year old woman, or a 15 year old kid pretending to be a 80 year old woman.
The door banged, Mikey stumbled back holding his ear. Ellie began to laugh. Outside, Gerard got fed up with all the waiting. He pulled out his key, jingling it in the lock. Once he opened the door he blinked, giving his brother the look he always did. Mikey was just this enigma, and even his own brother couldn't figure him out. Gerard shrugged, lowering his head and closing the door behind him. He noticed a girl standing on the stairs, one hand resting on the banister and a foot ready to step on the next patch of carpeted stairs. He stumbled back several steps, hit simultaneously by so many thoughts and urges that they simply overwhelmed him, effectively pinning his shoulders to the door. "Gerard!" Mikey, snapping out of his bewildered state grinned, hugging him around the waist. Gerard ignored him, staring fixedly up at the girl. There was something about her that bothered him. Some strange quality he couldn't seem to put his finger on. And it drove him crazy.
Ellie cleared her throat, coming down the rest of the stairs and patting Mikey on the back, who was still attached to Gerard's waist. "I'll uh..call you tomorrow, Mikes. You two have fun."
Mikey straightened up. "You don't have to go, Elles. I told you I'd talk to mom. And anyway, he's already here. You might as well stay, lord knows he'll probably continuously bug me about you all night."
"I'm right here." He interjected, pointing at Mikey.
He nodded. "I know that. Stay Ellie?"
Ellie shook her head, knowing far better. The one thing her mother had taught her, was manners. Those she had. "I've got a date with Elaine anyway. So, uh..nice to not be introduced to you?" She said a little awkwardly to Gerard, nodding her head and disappearing out the door.
Gerard gave a look to Mikey. "You've got friends now?"
"And just want do you mean by that? I've had friends." He huffed defensively, crossing his arms.
"Other than Frank." He raised an eyebrow. "And he's only your friend because I went out with him." Gerard shivered a bit. That would never happen again. Frank and Gerard were short-lived. He was just too, boisterous, all the time. His kind of humor can be great to have around, but the simple fact was that he was only 15 and Gerard was in his early 20's. The maturity gap was just too wide. "Who was she Mikes?"
"Ellie. A friend." He shrugged, climbing the stairs and leaving Gerard standing on the tile entry, gawking. If they're friends..she's bound to be back..

Take me out
I know I won't be leaving here with you
