He's not coming...
I looked myself over, standing in front of a full length mirror.
I looked beautiful.
I sighed, turning to look at my friends as they helped me prepare for my big day.
As they re-applied my make up, fixed my dress and styled my hair, my mind drifted off.
"He proposed." I stated as I looked at him.
He lifted his eyes to look at me for a brief moment, then turned his attention back to his book.
I sighed, looking down as I slowly approached him.
"Kaka-" I tried to continue but he cut me off.
"And what did you tell him?" he asked, still engrosed in his book.
I looked down, disturbed by his reaction. "I- I said yes."
He snapped his book shut, as his eyes trailed to look back into my own.
"I'm happy for you." he said, his voice sounding strained.
I tried forming a smile, feeling uncomfortable under the weight of his gaze.
He turned, his back facing me. "When is the wedding?"
I looked away as I replied: "Two months from now."
I turned to look back at him,
He was gone.
I'll never tell him how much he made me cry that day.
I snapped back into reality upon hearing those words. I smiled up at them. I looked myself over in the mirror.
I looked beautiful perfect.
I sighed, feeling a hand on my shoulder.
"Don't worry Himiko-san, he will come."
I smiled down at Sakura, fighting back the water that was starting to form in my eyes.
"Himiko, it's time." my gaze snapped to Kurenai as she smiled at me, handing me my bouquet.
I took it from her, letting white lilies cascade down, up to my thighs.
"Happy birthday Himiko!"
I turned to look at Kakashi, his eye smiling as he handed me a small box.
I smiled. "You remembered!"
He scratched the back of his head, looking at me sheepishly.
"I know, I'm sorry about your 17th birthday last year."
I laughed, taking the box from his grip. I looked at him, as he beckoned for me to open it.
My eyes widened in shock as I ripped the gift wrapper. I felt tears forming in my eyes as I opened it.
"Kakashi, I-" words weren't enough to describe how I felt.
I looked at the beautiful white gold necklace on the palm of my hand, what really made me emotional was the white lily pendant that hung from it. It had a blue stone in the middle, it reflected my own eyes.
"Thank you Kakashi, it's absolutely beautiful."
His eye closed in a positive manner as he took it from me. I lifted my hair, letting him put it around my neck.
"A beautiful necklace for my special girl." he said as he finally locked it.
I smiled, giving him a hug. "You are the best friend a girl could ever hope for!"
I absentmindedly traced the pendant before I slowly made my way to the altar.
I looked around, trying to find him, all the while, keeping a smile on my face.
My eyes fell on everyone close to me. There were genins, chuunins, jounins, ANBU's, and my non-ninja friends.
Everyone was here.
Except the only one who mattered.
"My wedding is tomorrow."
He looked down from the tree he was on, saying nothing.
I shifted, the silence was too much to bear.
"I was hoping you'd be there for me." I mumbled awkwardly, trying to avoid his gaze.
He ignored me as he jumped down, landing in front of me.
I shook the nervousness away, finally having the strength to look at him.
I felt something warm and
And as soon as it happened, it was gone.
I opened my eyelids, and found myself alone.
I looked at the man I loved.
I smiled as he gave me his arm.
I was silent. I snapped back to reality as the Priest turned to me.
"Mikage Himiko, will you take Hitsu Kai as your lawful husband, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in
sickness and health, until death do you part?"
I looked down.
"I do."
The Priest turned to the guests, "And do anyone, here present, think that this couple shouldn't be joined in Holy Matrimony? Speak now, or forever hold
your peace."
I felt the silence pulsating through my ears.
"I now pronounce you, Man and Wife. You may now kiss the bride."
My husband smiled, as he kissed me.
I finally let the tears flow from my eyes.
I waited.
I waited for him to show up and object.
He never came.
You broke my heart...
