The Neverending Meadows: A Dark Faerie Tale||A Reason For Revenge

Since Dani and Bill were in your room, you decided to go to Dani's library to sit and wait. As soon as the door shut, Jussi laid into you again.

"Laura, what the hell do you think you're doing? Honestly girl, do you not understand how dangerous trolls are?" he snapped.

"Bill is different though."

"How do you know? He could just be using his powers on you-"

"Shut-up Jussi!" you screamed, making Jussi close his mouth instantly.

He huffed and walked out of the room.

You smiled, pleased at how people respected you now. You put your hand on your ever-growing tummy.

"I think you and Bill will become great friends, Arius. That is if your father doesn't scare him away or worse..." you said aloud.

Suddenly, a knock came at the door.

"Who is it?" you yelled.

"Christian."

You rolled your eyes before saying, "Come in."

The door opened and Christian came inside.

"What do you want?" you asked, annoyed at him even being close to you.

"I wanted to see how you and the baby were doing. Lord Filth said that you tripped. Did you fall on your stomach?"

"Yes, but Arius is fine."

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah, I'm sure. He's still kicking like crazy." You moaned, feeling your tummy do a flop.

"Can I feel?"

"...No."

"Please?"

"No. I don't want anyone touching my stomach anymore."

"But-" Christian was cut off by Bill coming back into the room. He looked a bit shaken but still intact which was always a good sign. Christian glared hard at him.

"Troll." he mumbled.

"Yes he is a troll. Good boy, Christian. Now leave." you hissed and pointed to the door.

Christian rolled his eyes at you before walking out the door, knocking into Bill on his way.

"Sorry about that, Bill." you said as he sat down next to you in a chair.

"Th..That was him." Bill said, stuttering.

"You know Christian?"

"Yes. He was the one that killed my family."

You could feel your blood start to boil at what Bill had said. The devious feeling to choke Christian washed over you. You knew you had to do something about this.

"Are you okay, Laura?" Bill asked with a panicked look on his face.

"I'll be a lot better once Christian is punished for what he has done to you and you're family." you replied.

"No! You must not try to punish him. It won't turn out the way you hope, Laura. He could...hurt you and Arius."

"Let him try. Dani will kill him." you said through gritted teeth.

"Please, just calm down. It's not good for the baby that you're upset." Bill pleaded.

"Don't worry about me or Arius. We'll be fine. Now come on, we're going to go find Dani."

"What? Why? I don't want to. He scares me..."

"He needs to hear about this, Bill. Now come on." you said before grabbing his hand and pulling him out of the room.

You pulled Bill along behind you as you searched the castle for Dani. You finally found him sitting in the throne room, talking to a female faerie you had never seen before.

"Laura, I didn't expect to see you so soon." Dani said once he noticed you and Bill had walked in.

"I know but we need to talk." you replied.

"Can't it wait? I'm talking to Serena about some important things."

"No, it can't wait. I'm sure your friend Serena can find something else to do while I talk to my husband." you spat.

Dani raised his eyebrow at how jealous you were acting.

"Laura, she's part of the Royal Court. I can't just throw down what we were discussing."

"Listen to your husband, dear Laura. I came a long distance to have an audience with him. How about you be a nice little faerie and leave us alone?" Serena spoke up.

"You know, you're lucky I'm pregnant." you said between gritted teeth as she clenched her fists.

Serena laughed. "You sure are feisty."

"Alright, Laura. I can only spare five minutes though. No more than that." Dani said as he stood up.

"If my father was here, he would not tolerate this." Serena spat as Dani walked past her.

Dani stopped in his tracks and said, "You forget that your father isn't here because he's dead. Do you want to be in that same position?"

"No, my Lord." Serena whispered.

"Good. I'll be back soon. Stay put." Dani said before walking out of the room with Laura and Bill.

"What the hell, Laura? You know to never interrupt me when I'm in an meeting. What could be so damn important?" Dani half yelled.

"First off, I had no idea you were even meeting with that royal tramp. Second off, I'm your wife which makes whatever I need to tell you way more important than some meeting you're having." you yelled.

Dani fell silent. You crossed your arms and raised an irritated eyebrow.

"You're right, my love. I'm sorry. You are way more important than a meeting. Now what is that you have to talk to me about?"

"It's about Christian."

"What about him?"

"He killed Bill's family."

"He probably did. I do remember ordering some trolls to be killed awhile back."

Your eyes filled with tears. Bill ran back into the bedroom.

"How could you kill them? They didnt do anything to you!" you wept.

"Trolls aren't welcome in my forest." Dani replied.

"Murderer," you spat before running after Bill.

Bill was on the bed with his legs curled up to his chest and his head buried in his knees. His whimpers of fear and sadness would break even the most heartless person.

You sat down on the bed and wrapped your arms awkwardly around him.

"Sh...It'll be alright, Bill. He won't hurt you," you softly told him.

"I wish he would hurt me."

"Don't say that."

"I mean it. I want to be with my family."

"I know you do. But you must be thankful that you're still alive. I'm sure your parents are thankful that you're still alive."

"How can they be thankful? They're dead."

You ran your fingers through Bill's massive poof of black hair and shushed him again. "It really will be okay, Bill. I promise that I won't let anyone hurt you and that I will get Dani and Christian back for killing your family."

Bill looked up at you and sniffled, "How are you going to get them back?"

"I dont know yet but I'll think of something."

"I just don't understand what my family did so wrong. What should it matter that we live in the forest or not? Lord Filth is a horrible, horrible man." Bill said before turning to you. "Laura, you must get away from him! What if he tries to hurt you or something? Let's leave here. Just you, me and your unborn baby."

You slowly shook your head and said, "I can't do that, Bill. Arius needs his father. To be honest, I need Dani too. I just can't leave him, no matter how mad I get at him."

"I just want my family back."

"I know. You can be in my family now, Bill. You can be Arius' Uncle Bill." you said, smiling.

He weakly smiled. "That sounds good and all but I don't think Lord Filth will approve of that."

"Don't worry. I'll take care of him."

Just then, the bedroom door swung open and in walked Dani. He came towards the bed and sat down beside you.

"What do you want, Dani?" you asked as you scooted away from him.

Dani sighed. "Laura, don't be mad at me, please."

"How can I not be mad? You killed a family of innocent trolls!" you screamed as you tightened your hold on Bill's shaking body.

"Can we talk about this in private, please?"

"No. We can not. Whatever you have to say, you can say in front of Bill."

"Fine. Laura, trolls have always been nothing but trouble to this kingdom. They meddle in things that shouldn't be meddled with and they're very tricky. You can never trust a troll." Dani said.

"You can never trust a faerie either."

Dani stood up from the bed, knowing you weren't going to back down from this and were not about to forgive him.

"Sh...Calm down, Bill. It's okay." You said as Bill whimpered.

Dani stormed out of the room.

"Ignore him. He's just being Mr. Moodypants today."

Bill let out a giggle and looked up at you. You wiped away his tears and smiled.

"There. That's better. A smile," you said as a tiny smile appeared on Bill's face. "Well shall we go see if we can find you a big room?"

"Sure," Bill stood up from the bed and helped you up.

You walked out of the bedroom and bumped into Jussi. He put his hands on your stomach right away.

"Are you okay?"

"Yes. Hey, can you help find Bill a bedroom?"

"Is he allowed to stay in the castle?"

"I say he is."

"Alright. Hmm...The room next to mine is empty."

"Is it comfy?"

"I don't know. It's a room."

You pulled Bill down the hall and over to the room that was right next to Jussi's. You opened the door. Bill walked inside and looked around.

"It's a little dark," you said, trying to turn on the lights. They wouldn't turn on though.

"You can always order it be fixed up a little" Jussi suggested with a sly grin.

"I can?"

"You are the queen, Laura. You can do whatever you want."

"Alrighty than. Jussi, I order this room to be Bill-itized!"

Jussi gave a salute and quickly went out of the room in search of assistance.

"You don't have to do that." Bill said.

"Yes I do. We're family now and I want my family to at least have light in their rooms."

Bill smiled.

While Bill's room was being fixed up, you decided to take him on a tour of the castle. The first place you took him was the garden.

"It's so beautiful." Bill said in awe as he looked all around him at the different flowers.

"Yeah, it is. Dani used to bring me here all the time. Not so much anymore." you said in a sad tone.

Bill wrapped one of his arms around your shoulders. "How about we check out another part of the castle now?"

You nodded your head, "Okay."

The two of you walked back inside and down the long corridor. You wanted to show him your old baby room; Arius' future bedroom.

"This is it." you said as you walked inside.

"Wow. It's so..."

"Dirty?"

"Well, I was going to say amazing but yeah, it's dirty too." Bill chuckled.

You walked over to the worn out crib and ran your fingers across the railing. A small smile crept across your face as you imagined how the room would look once it had been renovated.

You're really looking forward to having Arius aren't you?" Bill asked.

"I am."

"Why?"

"I guess I just want to have someone to take care of and watch grow-up. Oh and cuddle with. Dani doesn't cuddle much."

"Really? I'm shocked." Bill said sarcastically.

"He's one of those guys who does what he needs to do and then turns over and goes to sleep."

"I see."

"Anyways, let's go back to the tour. Do you want to see the dungeon?"

"...Not really."

"Okay. Well, do you want to go get your stuff from your house and move it here?"

"Sure."

You took Bill's hand and led him out of the room. You took him outside.

"Should I lead the way?" Bill asked.

"Please do."

"Okay. I'll make there are no sticks or anything that you can trip on too."

"Thank you," you chuckled.
