.::Eternal Hell::. A Vampire Story (10)

"Are you okay?" Chris asked.

I tried to look into his eyes and let my eyes tell him, but I couldn't. Jack put his hand on his forehead.I looked down at my shoes, trying to say something without crying. My words came out in fragments.

"I... I... don't... know..." was all that I could spit out that was understandable.

Chris gave me a sorrowful look. Nobody spoke the rest of the ride. my eyes were glued to the floor. I felt the car stop. Chris jumped out of the car. I followed. Jack got out the other side. We were at the edge of the forest. I was a cold night and I was freezing. The trees swayed in the wind.

"Come on," Jack said quietly and motioned for us to follow.

I looked at him quickly and then dropped my head again and looked at the ground. We started to walk through the woods. Branches grabbed at me, but I hardly noticed. As we walked further into teh heart of the forest, it got colder. I started to shiver. chris was walking to the right of me and his arm around my shoulders. I flinched at first but then relaxed to his touch. His skin was cold cold but it was better than the open air. Jack was way up ahead. His walk was hurried.

"Is he okay?" I asked Chris.

"He's worried about you. He was really upset when we found out you were gone. and it was obvious who took you."

I nodded. A few minutes later we reached the cabin. Jack was already waiting at the door. Me and Chris walked up the steps and Jack opened the door for us. All of us walked in. Johnny and Mike looked up from teh couch they were sitting on. Mike was the first to jump up and Johnny followed. They greeted us with hugs. jack still had the same emotionless look on his face.

"What happened?" Johnny finally asked.

Jack wasn't about to answer and Chris was always quiet. I took in a breath.

"David took me and tied me up in the back of his car. Then Chris broke the car's window and took me. Jack went to go fight David. Chris untied me and I went to help Jack. I got there and Jack slit his throat and we ran to the car," I told them.

I didn't tell them what he yelled after me.

"Are you okay?" Mike asked.

I sighed. I had been asked that question way too many times and was sick of it.

"I guess," I shrugged.

"Well, at least you're all alright," Johnny said.

I yawned.

"Do you want to go to bed?" Jack asked.

I almost jumped. I wasn't expecting him to say anything anytime soon.

"Yeah."

"Okay then, let's go," Jack said.

Jack, Chris, and I walked up teh stairs to our rooms. The others didn't argue or try to talk to us anymore. We reached the top of the stairs.

"Scarlet, I want you to stay with Chris. I don't want that to happen ever again," he said in a serious tone.

I nodded. Jack stalked off to his room.

"Do you want to go to my room or yours?" he asked.

"I don't care."

"Alright, your room I guess."

We walked into my room and sat on the bed. i wanted to lay down so I put my head on my pillow. Chris laid down next to me and put his arms around me.

"You know, everything Jack said about you was true," he told me.

I shook my head, "I'm not anything special. i should be dead, but I'm just going to live forever," I mumbled to him.

"The three of us should be dead. And so shouldn't the Raven and all the other vampires. But we're not and that's just the way things are. But what you said about no being special, that's not true. You're beautiful and smart and funny and..." his voice was my lullaby.
