Whoohoo! Update!
Yuki stumbled into the kitchen to make supper. She originally was cooking for herself, but as the Akatsuki members piled into the kitchen, she decided to cook for them too. Apparently, she was the answer to their 'starving organization with no proper chef to feed us' problem. It was just too bad for her that she was exhausted.

Humming contentedly, she made dango, rice and stir fried chicken. When supper was done, she was surprised to see Hidan help her serve. Even stranger, he made an effort to be nice and forgo his swearing for the entire meal. As she was waiting for everyone else to finish their meal, Yuki fell asleep on Sasori's shoulder.

"I think someone is ready for bed." Sasori said emotionlessly as he motioned to the sleeping girl whose head was taking up residence on his wooden shoulder. Konan smiled lightly and helped the girl to bed.

As Yuki regenerated in her pool of pale moonlight, Itachi, Kisame and Umi stumbled upon a dark figure outside the entrance to the base.

Okay, well, only Umi stumbled.

Miyako sat on a rock, her silver hair blowing lightly, and her cold and determined gaze resting slowly on the three figures before her. A tense few seconds passed and she rose, bowed in greeting, and addressed them.

"Uchiha Itachi, Hoshigaki Kisame, Hoshigaki Umi." The eighteen year old girl said as she looked from person to person. Kisame shifted nervously and looked at his partner.

"Sora Miyako." Itachi stated emotionlessly, staring at the pink-eyed woman before him. He walked to the entrance and performed the required hand seals and walked inside. The others followed him in silence.

It was around two in the morning as the men showed Umi and Miyako their rooms. A few useless 'goodnights' were muttered by Kisame as they closed the doors to the girl's rooms. Little did they know that Umi was still awake.

Umi crept out of her room, eyeing the other doors mischievously.

~Exploration time! ~ She thought, slinking down the hallway.

~The great konoichi Hoshigaki Umi is flawlessly quiet, sneaking down the halls of the baddest criminal organization know to shinobi! She will never be caught, not with the superhuman stealth she is exhibiting today, right Kei? ~ She play-by-played in her mind, the announcer dramatically exaggerating her every move.

~That's right Jou! This girl is the cream of the crop, the icing on the cake, the Oh crap! She's busted! ~ Inner announcer Kei screamed as Umi looked into the pinkish eyes of none other than Miyako.

"Hehehe I'm not in trouble am I sister?" She asked, rubbing the back of her head. Miyako's emotionless faced surveyed her half sister, deciding.

"Go back to your room, Umi. You need rest. Tomorrow you will be meeting our other sister, Yuki." Miyako said as she gently pushed the sixteen-year-old redhead towards her room. Umi wouldn't budge.

"I can't wait! Yuki sounds nice. Don't you want to see what she looks like?" Umi wondered idly, a finger on her chin, her expression dazed. Miyako shook her head and replied levelly.

"Fine. I'll take you to her room, and you can take a peek. Then it is off to bed." Umi jumped in excitement, then pouted.

"Miyako-onee-chan, sometimes you are worse than Kisame-onee-san." She said, walking moodily behind Miyako. Miyako fought the urge to roll her eyes, and stopped at a plain-looking door.

She opened it silently, the door swinging just far enough for the two girls to peak in. as they stuck their heads in the room, their gaze rested upon Yuki's pale form. The moonlight poured over her, and her skin seemed to glow. Her raven hair was spread perfectly against the pillow. Yuki was what Umi would call 'The Picture of Beauty.'

Miyako closed the door as quietly as possible. When it clicked shut, Umi was still staring in the direction of Yuki's bed.

"Miyako, she is so. So I can't describe her." Umi stuttered, turning to look at Miyako. Her peach face with a sparse spattering or freckles was knotted in confusion.

"The word is 'Angelic' or 'Heavenly,' Imouto-chan. She is our mother's most perfect creation." Umi agreed wholeheartedly, not a twinge of jealousy wracking her mind. Umi knew about Yuki's forced marriage, and refused to envy her.

"Well, a deal is a deal. I'm going to bed." Umi whispered as she walked to her room. Laying on her bed under the covers and staring at the moon, she giggled.

"Mother moon, I know someone far more beautiful than you!" She said joyously as she drifted off.

Thank you so much for supporting my long overdue, crappy, and rather boring fanfic!
