Do-pe-do....
I shuffled quickly down the hall behind Kabuto all the way to a training room. Orochimaru was waiting inside, watching the door as we entered. I bowed my head in respect before addressing him.
"Ohayo, father. I am ready to train." I said quietly as he stood, I was obviously nervous.
"How about a mock battle to begin? I would like to study your taijutsu and ninjutsu skills." He questioned, approaching the middle of the arena. I hid my face behind my hair as I looked at the ground in embarrassment. I was terrible at taijutsu. I had always had Keiichi and Toya to help me, while I would plan our next move. I guess you could call me the team strategist. My foresight was especially helpful at the Chuunin Exams.
"F-father, I-I'm not very good at Taijutsu" I said, not daring to look up at him.
"I will have to change that, now won't I?" his smooth voice whispered from behind me.
~How did he move so fast? ~ I wondered as I prepared myself for battle. He appeared in front of me again, throwing five kunai. I ducked and rolled to the side, launching a few shuriken.
All of my weapons were speedily deflected. I knew he was trying to force me into using hand-to-hand Taijutsu. I ran and punched. He ducked and swung. His arm collided with my rib cage, stinging badly. I shuffled backwards, my arm comforting the area he struck.
"Don't tell me that's all you have, Haru!" Orochimaru taunted.
"I was expecting five more minutes out of you!" he laughed maliciously.
~He's insane! I guess I'll have to use that technique. ~ I thought wryly. I went through a series of hand seals my cousin had shown me.
"Secret clan art: Soul of Reciprocation!" I whispered as I tore my soul in two. The second piece of my soul flew thirty seconds into the future, but was still connected to my current mind.
I rushed at Orochimaru, expertly deflecting all of his blows. The piece I had separated from my soul was predicting his every move thirty seconds before it happened. He smirked and attacked fiercely. Even with the handicap head start I had, he was still two steps ahead of me. I grunted as I deflected attack after attack, each one stronger than the last.
"Release!" I muttered, returning the severed piece of soul to my body and falling to the ground. I had lasted twenty minutes of battling against a Sannin. I knew he had held back, but the thought still made me swell with pride.
"I see you have mastered the second level of your Kekkei Genkai. Very good." Orochimaru said as he helped me to my feet. I looked at him and smiled.
"Have you gotten any farther than the second level?" He asked, looking into my eyes. I shook my head.
"I've only begun training in the third level, Danna. The past is a very difficult place to go." I answered, rubbing the back of my head.
"Very well. Tomorrow you can practice on your own. I will be teaching you every other day. Off to your room now, my dear." As soon as he finished, Kabuto appeared at the door to the training room to lead me back. All the while, I thought about what I was about to tell Miyuki
