A seventeen year old girl with fiery red hair stood at the Kings Cross station glaring at the barrier between platforms nine and ten. To all observers she looked like she belonged in a loony bin, but then in a blink of an eye she's gone, just like that. Most normal people or "muggles" would just shrug this odd behavior off and continue on their marry way as if nothing had happened, but then there were a few who when they thought no one was watching would walk by the barrier for a closer look, some would even reach out a touch it and then...nothing happened and they walked on and forgot what ever they saw. This is true unless you are one of the few students on their way to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, like Lily Evans. This was to be her last year at Hogwarts, and what a way to have it end...Head Girl, top student in every class (except Transfiguration), and the only girl in the whole school above third year (and I mean ALL) who has not made out with any of the Marauders...
Alright everyone so ends the prologue and now on to the story
Lillian Evans sat in an empty compartment, waiting. Waiting for the train to start, waiting to go home to Hogwarts, and...waiting for her life to begin. Lily had an ok life...wait no it was horrible! Her parents had died that summer in a car crash, her sister disowned her because of her 'freakish' qualities and she had been living on the streets of London ever since, but luckily she was now heading home, her only home now Hogwarts. Of course Lily was popular she was nice, smart, and always smiling, but if you asked any one of the students at Hogwarts the name of her best friend...there would be no answer. Lily was a loner...but she was a popular loner....is that even possible? This year the world had made her icy, and she was no longer talking to anyone...as if on cue she sighed, as the Marauders burst in to her solitary compartment.
The Marauders...what could she say about them...3/4 of them were the most annoying prats in the world!
The only tolerable one was Remus Lupin. He was about 5'10" with sandy blond hair, pale brown eyes, and was Lily's favourite study-buddy. He was really good looking, but not in a Hogwart's "heart throb" kind of way. He was quite, respectable, and he took the time to think things through before he did/said them. Lily and Remus had become friends after they did a Herbology project together and discovered how much they had in common. He was Lily's one and only friend, although he wasn't her best friend...no one had claimed that position.
Then there was Sirius Black, he was tall, black kind of shaggy hair that always fell perfectly over his eyes. He was the Hogwarts "player" if you will. Every week a new girl, except for Lily, who was known all through the school to be "property of" James Potter.
James Potter, no quite as tall as Sirius but still he towered over Lily (she was 5'4" and he was a bit over 6'). He was the most vile despicable creature on the face of this Earth!...to Lily...to the rest of the Hogwart's population, manly girls, he was dashingly handsome with a perfect Quidditch toned body, and sure his hair was a bit unruly...but no one but Lily minded, but alas...he was damaged goods for he was head over heels in love with Lily...the only girl in the entire school who turned him down. At first it was a challenge but then after he spent time (stalking) observing Lily it quickly turned in to infatuation and now in the final year James realized over the summer he was in love with a certain redhead girl named Lillian Evans.
Last and certainly least there was Peter Pettigrew. Peter was the one that Lily could never quite figure out...he didn't 'belong' in the Marauder's group; he lacked the courage, the brains, and the looks. But with his rat like features, watery blue eyes, and light brown hair he brought something to the mix...Lily just wasn't sure what...yet.
"Hello Evans" James said with a smirk.
"Just leave me alone Potter." Lily responded in a monotone voice.
"Evans?" James said confused 'why hasn't she started yelling at me?'
"Just leave Potter" Lily said as tears threatened to spill out of her eyes.
James wasn't used to this situation, sure he had seen crying girls...but not a crying Evans, what should he do? James used his first instinct. "Alright...I'll see ya later Evans." And with that James scampered out of the room with the rest of the Marauders on his heels.
'If that's all it took to get rid of him I would have started crying years ago.' Lily though bitterly. Lily leaned her head up against the window of her compartment and watched the rain fall. The rain way supposed to represent coming clean, a new beginning, but to Lily it was just another day in her miserable life. Just incase her life wasn't horrible enough before James Potter dashed out of her compartment she noticed a badge pined to his chest...he was Head Boy.
Let the rain come down and wash away my tears
Let it fill my soul and drown my fears
Let it shatter the walls for a new sun
