Little background music doesn't hurt anyone. :)
NOTE: This takes place AFTER Yukimura is hospitalized! Also, pay attention to the words "Rikkaidai Regular Uniform" It's clickable so you can see the pic. ;D
"Moshi moshi?" I answered my cell phone. "Kei-chan?" came Akaya's voice. "Ah. Akaya-kun. Where are you? You weren't there for morning practice." I said. "Ano... I fell asleep on the bus, so now I'm lost." replied Akaya. "Well. Where are you?" I asked. "Hm... I'm at Seigaku right now." "Seigaku? Alright. I'll come pick you up." I replied, before hanging up.
"Takao. Please drive to Seigaku." I said. "Hai. Keiko-ojou-sama." Takao replied before turning.
"Takao. Please drive to Rikkaidai, explain why I'm not there, and drop this grip tape off. I'll call you when I need you. Alright?" I asked. "Hai. Wakarimashita." Takao nodded before driving off.
I sighed, "Where did Akaya-kun go?" I questioned myself. I decided to head to the tennis courts to see if Akaya was there. And sure enough, there I saw Akaya, with a woman scolding him. The woman took a picture of Akaya, and then rushed off. "Hen no obaa-san." Akaya said.
"Akaya-kun." I approached the second year ace of Rikkaidai. "Ah. Kei-chan." Akaya greeted. Mou... I have to look up so much. My 150 cm (4' 11") is quite short compared to his 168 cm (5' 6"). It's hard to believe we're in the same grade. -.-
"Let's so some spying while we're here!" said Akaya before entering one of the tennis courts before I could stop him. "We are so running laps tomorrow..." I sighed, before following him.
"You two don't look like students from Seigaku. Do you need something?" asked one of the tennis club members. I took a look at him, 'No! What gave him that idea?! My Rikkaidai regular uniform or Akaya's different school uniform?!' I thought to myself.
Yes. I was wearing the Rikkaidai Regular Uniform. Just like the guys, I had on the long pants. I only wear my white with red stars skirt when I'm competing in tournaments. Also, unlike the guys, I kept my jersey totally unzipped.
Akaya was wearing the Rikkaidai school uniform. Which consisted of long black pants, a white shirt, and a teal and white striped tie.
We both had our black tennis bags swung over our shoulders, with the words RIKKAIDAI printed on the tennis bag proudly in bolded, capitalized gold.
"They're on to us already!" Akaya exclaimed, making me get a sweatdrop. "I guess is can't be helped. Rikkaidai Fuzoku Chuu no ninen ace... the famous Kirihara Akaya. Introduce yourself, Kei-chan." Akaya said. I sighed. "Rikkaidai Fuzoku Chuu's boys' tennisubu manager, as well as current fukubuchou. Rikkaidai's Tenshi, Atobe Keiko." Inui said, reading data from his notebook. "Er... right..." I sweatdropped.
"Rikkaidai Fuzoku Chuu... The school that ended the finals in Kanagawa Prefecture in a total of one hour... Kantou's number one team." Inui Sadaharu explained. "They're from Sanada." the teenager, Oishi Syuichirou, beside Inui said, "I wonder what Kanagawa's representative wants with Seigaku."
"We came to do a little spying. Ne, Kei-chan?" Akaya asked, looking down at me to see that I wasn't there. "Kei-chan?" Akaya looked around.
"Hai. Genichirou-senpai. Akaya-kun and I are currently in Seigaku." I explained into my cell phone. "Mhm. Your driver explained that to me." Genichirou replied. "Ah... we might be late. But I'm sure we can catch afternoon practice." I replied. "Wakata." Genichirou replied before hanging up.
"Oi! Kei-chan!" Akaya whined slightly. "Nani?" I asked the tall junior.
"S-spy?" questioned one of the regulars, Kawamura Takashi. "What is he trying to do?" asked one of the club members, "Ano yaro..." "Arai!" another one of the regulars, Momoshiro Takeshi scolded.
"What are you all doing?" came a voice. Everyone in the club turned, to see Tezuka Kunimitsu, the captain of Seigaku standing there. "Oh! I found you! You're Tezuka-san, right? The one my senpai-tachi have an eye on! Look, Kei-chan! it's Tezuka Kunimitsu!" Akaya exclaimed. "It's rude to point, Akaya-kun. And yes. I know very well who he is. My brother is one of his rivals." I replied, drinking my water. "Aren't you a little dehydrated today?" Akaya muttered before approaching Tezuka.
"You're the only one that defeated my senpai-tachi in the Kantou Taikai last year. I just want a match. Ne, iin deshou?!" Akaya laughed. "People not in the club should leave." was Akaya's reply. "Sou na, Tezuka-san. Just one set is fine. Don't be so strict. You must be tired of keeping up this face all the time. Don't be so tough. Ne?" Akaya provoked. 'He does know that he's also describing Genichirou-senpai... Right...?' I questioned myself with a face like this: -.-
"Oi! Don't be disrespecting our buchou! Hurry up and leave!" one of the club members said, serving a ball towards Akaya. "Baka, Arai!" Oishi scolded. I side stepped to the side as the ball swished past me and toward Akaya. Akaya quickly pulled out his racket, and began bouncing the ball with his racket.
"Daijoubu, Kei-chan?" Akaya questioned, bouncing the ball with his racket. "Un." I replied. "Good. Buchou and senpai-tachi would kill me if you got hurt. Not to mention your brother." Akaya bounced the ball.
"Hold this for me, will ya?" With that said, Akaya hit the ball high in the air, and tossed the racket at me. I caught the racket, and the ball as well as it fell smoothly on Akaya's racket.
"Also, can you not cut in our conversation?" Akaya asked Arai.
"He lightly fielded my serve... and then passed it to the girl like it was nothing..." Arai said in shock.
"I'm gonna go get a drink. My water's empty..." I said as I bounced the ball with the rim of my racket. Much like Fudomine's Ibu Shinji.
I then walked back to the tennis courts after refilling my water bottle, and served the ball high in the air and tossed the racket back to Akaya.
"Just kidding. No is no. Can't help that." Akaya smiled. "Oi! You in the back! Here's your ball!" Akaya tossed the ball into the air, then hit it backward. 'Yosh! Kimata!' Akaya thought.
The ball flew back quickly, and hit Momoshiro, who fell back, who's racket hit one of the ichinen carrying balls, which hit Kikumaru Eiji, and fell to the ground. The basket was dumped on Kikumaru's head, and he fell to the ground along with the balls. The members one by one tripped over the balls. One of the members tripped, and his racket flew out of his hand, which hit Kaidoh Kaoru, who was drinking orange juice, which made him spill the juice on his face.
"Oi, oi. This doesn't look good..." Akaya said, slightly nervous. "Fshhhhhh.... Who did this?" Kaidoh glowered. "Oh, Kaidoh is really mad." said one of the members. "WHO DID THIS?!?!" "CALM DOWN, KAIDOH!!!" "Fsh...."
Havoc began to consume the tennis courts we were in, and I noticed Akaya sneaking away. 'Great... I have to clean up one of his messes... again...' I mentally cheered. Note the sarcasm. "EVERYONE!!! THIRY LAPS AROUND THE FIELD!!!" boomed Tezuka. "HAI!!!!!!" everyone chorused.
"I seriously apologize for Akaya-kun's behavior." I bowed slightly in front of Tezuka. The regulars, who didn't have to run, watched as I talked to Tezuka. "Akaya-kun seems to be a bit... carried away sometimes. I'll help out." I said, before going to help the regulars pick up balls.
"Hoi! Hoi!" I noticed Kikumaru cartwheeling around, picking up the tennis balls, and then tossing them into the baskets. "Nya, nya~ You're Atobe's imouto-chan. Right?" asked Kikumaru while doing a cartwheel. "Hai." I nodded, tossing a ball into the basket. "You know Mukahi Gakuto?" asked Kikumaru. "Hm. How could I not? When he tackled me everyday with Jirou-senpai when I went to Hyotei." I replied.
"So. What kind of tennis so you play?" Kikumaru asked. "I'm an all-rounder." I replied. "Honto? Tezuka and O'chibi are all-rounders too!" Kikumaru exclaimed. "O'chibi...?" I asked. "Our ichinen regular. Echizen Ryoma." Oishi said. "Oh..." I nodded.
"It's been a while since we last saw you in the tournament last year." commented Kawamura. "Eh, hai." I replied.
"So. Tell me. Keiko-chan. How did a girl like you be in the boys' tennis team in Rikkaidai?" asked Fuji Syusuke, the tensai. "Well... I'm the buchou's, Yukimura Seiichi's childhood friend. Being a sibling to Keigo, I was interested in tennis. So I played with my brother and Sei-kun. When I joined Rikkaidai, I joined the tennis team, and the boys asked if I wanted to be their manager. Of course, I agreed. I'm also a replacement if one of the regulars can't make it. We've already discussed it with the tournament commitees. Now. Here I am. A regular. Also, because you probably heard about Sei-kun's illness." I said.
"Un." nodded Inui, "He's in the hospital because of the Guillain-Barr syndrome. Am I correct?" I nodded.
"I wanna play a match against you." Kaidoh suddenly said. "Huh?" I asked him. "Since you're one of the Rikkaidai regulars, you're a Zenkoku ku, right?" "Naturally... yes." I replied. "Buchou?" asked Kaidoh. Tezuka nodded. "Very well then." I sighed, pulling out my racket.
I slipped on the sleeves of my regular jersey, and tested the racket strings. 'Kaidoh Kaoru: 2nd Year, Seigaku. Uses the move Snake Shot, which is the Buggy-Whip Shot renamed... Guess I don't have to copy any moves considering I already know the Buggy-Whip Shot. But still... I wanna see what he's capable of...' I thought while testing my racket strings.
"The best of one set match! Kaidoh, to serve!" Oishi announced after all of the tennis members came back. Also, I noticed Echizen Ryoma there too.
Kaidoh served the ball quickly, and I dashed toward it, returning with ease. After a few rallies, Kaidoh decided to use the snake shot.
"Love-15!"
"Yeah!!! Kaidoh!!!" the tennis club members cheered.
A few more rallies later....
"Game! Kaidoh! 1-love! Change court!"
"Alright Kaidoh!" the members cheered. "Fshhhhh... are you really Zenkoku ku...?" Kaidoh asked. I merely just nodded my head, and changed courts. 'I should be careful not to reveal any of my moves... yet.' I thought, while throwing the ball high in the air and serving. "Hayai!" I heard Kikumaru yell. No. I wasn't one of my special serves. My serves are normally fast. Your's would be too if Keigo played your everyday after tennis practice no matter how late or rainy it was.
"F-fifteen-love!"
I served once again, but this time, it was slower, so Kaidoh was able to return the ball. "Oi! Kei-chan! I'm goin' on ahead!" I heard Akaya call. "Alright then!" I shouted back, winning a point. 'Heh... no doubt Kei-chan'll win.' Akaya thought smirking before leaving the school.
"Game, set, and match: Atobe! 6-2!" Oishi announced after recovering from his shock. "Good game." I smiled, shaking Kaidoh's hand. "Fshhhh..." Kaidoh hissed in reply.
I put away my tennis racket, and drank water. "Ne, ne, Kei-chan~!" Kikumaru cried, swinging an arm over my shoulders, "I never knew you knew acrobatic play!" "You'd be suprise what I can do... Kikumaru-san." I said. "Nya~ Call me Eiji!" "Hai... Eiji-san." I said before leaving the tennis courts.
"You think we'll see her again?" I heard Momoshiro ask. "Fshhh... of course. Baka. Rikkaidai's in the Kantou Taikai too." Kaidoh replied. "Tch! Don't go all pissy just 'cause you lost, 6-2!" Momoshiro retoarted. "What was that?!" More bickering...
I sighed, as I noticed Atobe's limo stop in front of Seigaku. "Keigo..." I greeted the boy, "What are you doing here?" "I stopped by Rikkaidai to pick you up, but Sanada said you never showed up because you had to pick up Kirihara at Seigaku. Oh, and we're training the minute we get home since you didn't get any practice today." replied Keigo. "Hai. I was going to ask you anyway." I nodded, getting into the limo.
The door was then opened, and I stepped out of the limo, followed shortly by Keigo. The maids and others greeted us back, and Keigo dismissed them with the flick of his wrist. We walked to the backyard, and a maid who was nearby opened the door for us. We set our tennis bags down when we arrived in front of our tennis courts.
"50 laps around the tennis courts. A short 5 minute break. Then a light practice match. No tiebreak. Short 10 minute break. Then we run 50 laps around the tennis courts. A short 7 minute break, and another game. After that, we get cleaned, and meet in the music room." Keigo said. "Wakarimashita." I nodded, and we set off on our laps.
After a rough four and a half hours, our training was finally done. Keigo and I were currently walking upstairs to our rooms. "Isn't Hyotei playing Seigaku next in the Kanto Taikai?" I asked Keigo, walking through the bright halls. "Yeah. Hyotei's going to win." Keigo replied with a confident smirk. I sighed, and walked to my room.
Hoi, hoi, nya~
