So Paris was interesting to say the least.
I got a 'grand tour' of Paris which is roughly translated into Lester dragging me around Paris without a moment's rest and Alex gaping at the sites and taking pictures of me and Lester.
So, yeah, Paris is over and I'm back in the states.
Actually, I was currently sitting at my desk in work, answering phone calls and what not.
"I have an appointment." A voice interrupted my thoughts. I looked up and there was a very menacing man standing before me. He wore a dark casual suit and had long black hair that was slicked back with matching eyes that felt as if they could cut wounds into my body. I tried to keep myself from shivering under his gaze.
"I have an appointment." He repeated and I realized I was blandly staring.
I turned back to the computer and pulled up the menu. "Name?"
"Caesar." And then he grinned but behind the grin I could see a hint of malice. "Just Caesar."
I found his name and he was right on the dot for his appointment, a rare feat. I also found he had the appointment with Ms. Kepler. I was beginning to wonder what profession Valerie Kepler actually worked in if this man had an appointment with her.
I told him which floor and room he could find her and he thanked me and left. I found I could breathe once he was gone.

The day droned on and I found myself glancing at the elevators every few minutes. In my mind, I was denying that I was waiting for a certain person without a last name to appear and walk out of this building. I was nervous and I didn't even have a good enough excuse explaining why.
Finally, hours later and seconds before closing time, Caesar appeared in the elevators. But he wasn't alone. Ms. Kepler was walking in step with him.
I tried to appear busy as the pair walked past me and out of the building. I risked a look up but only to find her violet eyes looking back at mine. I jumped a little, not expecting her to be paying any mind to me. However, before I could interpret the look in her eyes, she turned her head and let a rain of curly brown hair follow. I never noticed before, but she was beautiful and soft.
Then why is she walking to this man's car. This menacing cold man. I shook my head and started to pack up my area to leave. Her life is none of my business. I need to keep my curiosity to myself because that was the death of my brother, literally.
As I was walking through the parking lot, I noticed that my car, other than the janitor's, was the only car left in the parking lot. However, I didn't think anything of it because that is the way it has always been. Everyone is rushing to get home.
I made it home in time to catch my favorite night show. I hurriedly dumped my keys on the counter. I ran to my room and changed my clothes into flannel pajama bottoms and a black tank-top. I quickly grabbed a pint of ice-cream and a spoon and jumped on my couch, turning the television on in the process.
I hoped the commercials weren't too bad because I no longer had a remote and I was just too damn lazy to stand up and change the channel.
"Damn, you can scarf down ice-cream pretty fast." I screamed and in the process threw my empty ice-cream container in the air only to have the spoon come crashing down on my head. Alex started laughing from his spot next to me on the couch.
I punched him, out of habit, on his arm even though it wouldn't hurt him.
"Don't do that." I said, a hand over my heart and the other one rubbing my head.
He grinned. "I couldn't resist." Then he reenacted my reaction. Ha ha, hilarious.
"What are you doing here? Don't you and the other one come here before I go to work and during? It's practically midnight."
"Midnight to you but it's our noon." Alex pointed out and then he shrugged. "And Lester has a date tonight so I decided to crash your place."
I nodded. If Lester had a date tonight, then he probably won't be back until late and Alex had to much energy to just waste inside his room alone.
"Fine, you can stay here but don't bother me when I head to bed." He nodded, giving me a salute and made himself comfortable next to me.
I wonder who Lester has a date with if we just came back from Paris.

"Is she a redhead?"
"Nope, I'm not saying."
"Is she French?"
"I can't tell you."
"Is she a man?"
"No- wait. I already told you she was a female."
"I was just making sure."
"You're not going to crack me, Stace."
"I cracked you once and I shall crack you again!"
"Now you're just scaring me."
I rolled my eyes as I kept my hands on the wheel. Today was my day off and also about a month after Lester's first date with this mystery girlfriend he's been seeing constantly.
This had more than one effect. I became more curious with who has caught Lester's interest that he is keeping it a secret. I also no longer had a life after work because Alex came over every night when Lester had a date and bugged me which in turn, prevented me from seeing someone.
So I intended to find out who this mystery woman was. I tried Alex, the one I knew would be the easier to weasel information out of, first. Lester played his game smart because he didn't tell Alex anything about it. Then I tried Susan, who I doubted knew anything about it. I was correct. Finally, I went to the source and here I am.
"Then you should just tell me who she is. What's the big deal?" I tried to persuade him.
"I thought today was a day for just you and me since you claimed we haven't seen each since I started seeing this person. If I had known we were playing twenty questions I would've sent Alex in my place." Lester joked and I growled.
"Just let me meet her." I tried again. "I want to know who has taken an interest in my Les."
Lester smirked slightly with an amused eyebrow raised. "Your Les?"
"You know what I mean."
"I don't think I do. Are you staking claims on me now?" He was grinning now. "Shouldn't I be the one to do that to you?"
"Ha ha, hilarious." My voice had a sarcastic edge in it. I took a left turn.
"I'm just messing with you, Stace." He had his hand rubbing my thigh now. "You know that right?"
"I know." I mumbled and he chuckled taking his hand away. "Does this mean I can meet her?"
He didn't answer right away and I thought I had lost but then he said, "I plan on bringing her over for dinner soon. You can come if you want."
I squealed for joy. "Really?" I asked just in case. He nodded solomenly.
I reached over as far as my seat belt would allow and hugged Lester giving him a big sloppy, wet kiss on his cheek. He screamed. "STACEY! Keep your hands on the wheel!"
"Whoops!" I said cheerfully as I let go of him and clutched the wheel again.
"You are going to be the death of me, I swear." He joked and I giggled. He eyed me skeptically. "Why are you in such a good mood?"
I shot him a grin before turning my attention to the road. "Becaussseeee, if I meet the girl you've been seeing then I can talk to her and persuade her to do something. And if my plan works out, then Alex will stop coming over at night to bother me and I can go find a guy I can bring back to my place and have sex without interpretations from annoying teenage vampires!"
"I'm not a teenager, Stace." Lester muttered.
I shot him an apologetic look, briefly. "I know, Les. I just really want my free nights back."
"Why don't you just ask Alex to leave you alone?" He balance his feet on the dashboard.
"He'd be crush and I sort of feel obligated to watch out for him when you're not there."
The dark-haired vampire nodded and we feel into a silence as we watched the city around us.
He was about to say something but I cut him off with a question.
"Does she know about you?" I asked, seriously. We hit a red light and I turned my head to face him. He stared back with his black eyes. His face was emotionless. I sighed mentally, it was like old times again.
"No." And I knew at that moment why he hadn't brought her around and why he was so hesitant about bringing her over.
She didn't know he was a vampire. He didn't want her to know. He didn't want to hurt her. He really liked this woman.
My eyes softened as understanding flooded in. I was about to apologize but he turned his head.
"Green light." I stepped on the gas lightly and turned my attention to the road.
"So when is she coming over?" I asked trying to lighten the mood.
"Soon."
"Define soon."
"When she has time off work."
I smell a subject change. "What does she do for a living?"
He stared at the roof of the car and I noticed he seemed to be thinking.
"I'm not sure. Something secretive." He smiled and I wondered what he was thinking about her. "She's very secretive. I like that."
"I hate that about people." I muttered more to myself but I knew Lester could hear me. He lolled his head to the side facing me. He had a lazy smile on his face.
"Is that why you were so keen on cracking me when we first met?" He stared knowingly at me. "I was a mystery to you?"
"You were more than a mystery to me, Les." I shook my head at the memories, happy ones. "You were downright strange."
And he laughed, which is what I had been aiming for after I crossed the line.

"Oh, crazy Stacey," he used my old nickname "you were one pretty odd cookie yourself."

I smiled slyly. "You think I'm pretty?" He rolled his eyes.

"You're not half bad." It was my turn to roll my eyes. "You could be better."

"Gee, I feel great."

"Weellll, do you think I'm pretty?"

I gave him a 'come on' look. "Do I even have to answer that?"

"Oh, right." He nodded as if he understood. "You have the hots for me."

"What the hell?" I turned to him in disbelief. "You know I don't and who the hell uses the expression anymore?"

"I was joking, Stace." He said putting his hands up defensively. "Just relax."

I didn't respond because I was trying to see if I could pass the slow car in front of me.

"Where are we going anyways?" Lester asked for the first time since we got in the car.

I smirked. "Wouldn't you like to know?"

He gasped. "Don't tell me you're kidnapping me!"

"Well since you cooperated, I'm just going to take us back to your place."

"Why my place?"

"Because a little vampire we both know owes me fifty bucks."

"You and Alex bet on what exactly?"

I grinned. "To see who could crack you first." Then I turned off the engine. "And of course 'I win."
