Chapter 1: Village No More

Ayami Mikomi, colorful hope, is a thirteen year old girl, that knows no hope. Sure her name may mean hope, but she has none left. Not since that dreadful day nine years ago, but it could all change.

Nine Years Ago

“Momma, where are you?” a four year old Ayami asked.

“Outside in the garden, Aya.” Her mom said. Aya was her nickname.

“Why don’t you go help your mother, Aya? Oh, and Happy Birthday.” Her father said.

“Yes father and thank you.” She said and walked to the garden.

Her father was the leader of the village, the Kurokage. Her village was called The Village Hidden in the Darkness. Not much was known about her village. The only thing the other villages knew about her village was that it was a village of half-breeds. Her family was half human half cat. The people of the village have the ability to hide their ears and tail. Her family had a kekkei- genkai, blood line trait. It is known as The Neko’s Eye.

Ayami was always known as the sweet, innocent child. People shunned her and hated her, but she never knew why. She had two older siblings, a brother and a sister. Her sister, Ai Mikomi, love hope, is the middle child. She was cold- hearted at times, but mostly sweet. Her brother, Kai Mikomi, was the oldest child, and was a huge mystery. He never showed any emotion. He ignored everyone and would disappear for days without anyone knowing where he went. Her mother was Hana Mikomi, flower hope. Akito Mikomi, autumn hope, was their father and the leader of the village.

Ayami always wore purple, she had purple hair that went to the bottom of her back and black eyes with a yellow tint in them. She always wore a maroon colored ribbon with a silver bell on it, around her neck. Her mother gave it to her when she was born and she has never taken it off, except when she takes a shower. She also has black cat ears and a black cat tail. She already has the ability to hide her ears and tail.

While Ayami was walking through the garden, trying to find her mother, a chill went down her spine. Then she heard a scream. She ran and finally found her mother, but she had been stabbed and standing over her dead body was Kai, Ayami’s brother.

“Brother, why? Why did you kill Mother?” Ayami asked as she fell to her knees, crying.

“I wanted to test my power.” He said. At that time Ayami’s father came outside to see what was happening. Before he could say anything, another man appeared and killed him.

“W-Who are you?” Ayami asked the new man.

“So your little Ayami. Well it’s nice to finally meet you. My name is Orochimaru.” He said.

“How do you know my name?” Ayami asked with fear in her voice.

“Kai’s told me a lot about you. He says that you are to become one of the strongest of the Mikomi’s. So until you get stronger, I’ll just leave you with a little present.” he said. His tongue then stretched out toward Ayami and wrapped around her body. He then pulled Ayami toward him and bit her neck. She screamed out in pain and when Orochimaru pulled away, a curse mark was left behind. The curse mark was a halo with horns above it and two wings below. The left wing was an angel wing and the right wing was a devil wing.
