Chapter 3: Waking Up
Five Years Later
I started to wake up when I heard a man and woman talking.
“Hokage, sir, I don’t think she is every going to wake up.” Said a female voice.
“How long has she been in a coma?” asked a man’s voice.
“Today, it would be five years.” Said the woman’s voice.
“So today’s my thirteenth birthday.” I said to myself. The man and woman were in the room with me and heard what I said.
She’s awake.” Said the women, who I soon realized was a nurse.
The man walked over to me and said, “Well hello there. It’s good to see that you’re finally awake. Everyone was beginning to think that you would never wake up. My name is Sarutobi. I’m the Hokage of the leaf village.”
“Whatever.” I said.
“Your can’t talk to our Hokage like that.” The nurse said.
“I don’t care if he’s God, I’ll talk to him however I want.” I said in an ice cold tone.
“Miss, do you mind if I talk to our guest alone?” the Hokage asked while looking at the nurse.
“No, not at all.” She said as she walked out of the hospital room.
Once she was out of the room, the Hokage turned to me and asked, “So you know my name, why don’t you tell me your name?”
“Fine my name is Ayami Mikomi, but I just want to be called Aya.” I said.
“Alright, at least we’re making some progress. Where are you from?” he asked.
“I’m from The Village Hidden in the Darkness.” I said.
“Really, but you don’t have ears or a tail” he said. I preformed a few hand signs and my ears and tail appeared. Then I performed more hand signs to hide my ears and tail again.
“Is that proof enough for you?” I asked.
“Yes, but why are you here and not there?” he said.
“I’m here because nine years ago my people were killed, except for my brother, my sister, and I. My village was also burned completely, well almost.” I said.
“Nine years ago. What happened?” he said.
“My brother and a man named Orochimaru killed my village and burned it. Orochimaru gave me a curse mark called the Heaven/ Hell curse mark. It gives me power, but also if he gets killed it will kill me. It is also slowly killing me. My sister told me that I have Shadow, the ten- tailed cat demon, sealed inside me and it was my fault that the village was killed. My mother always told me that revenge was a sin, but I promised my entire village that I would get revenge for them.” I said as my anger started to rise.
“Where is the curse mark?” he asked. I turned so he could see it and pulled the sleeve of my hospital gown down slightly to reveal the curse mark.
“We have to get this sealed, right away. Please change back into your clothes and meet me in front of the hospital.” He said as he stood up and walked out of the room. Once he closed the door, I got out of the hospital bed and walked over to the closet. I opened the door and grabbed my clothes. I quickly changed and walked out of my room. I walked down the hallway and straight out the front door.
“There you are. Kakashi, this is Ayami Mikomi, but she prefers to be called Aya. Aya this is Kakashi Hatake. He’s the one that’s going to be sealing your curse mark. After he seals it, I want you to show me your abilities.” The Hokage said.
“Why?” I asked.
“Today is the graduation exam at the academy and if you have the right abilities, I would like to make you a ninja of Konaha.” He said.
“Very well, can we just get this over with?” I said in my usual cold tone.
“Yes just follow me.” Kakashi said and started to walk off with me following. We came to a house and went into the basement.
I was in my own thoughts when Kakashi said, “Put this on.” He threw me a shirt that covered my chest and tied in the back and a pair of shorts.
“You’re a pervert.” I said.
“So, I’ll be in the other room. Let me know when you’re done.” He said as he left the room. I sighed and quickly changed.
“Alright, I’m finished.” I said.
“Very well then, please come here.” he said. I walked over to the door that he went through and opened it.
“Sit in the middle of the circle please.” Kakashi said. I walked over and sat in the middle of the circle.
“What is this?” I asked looking at the symbols that were drawn on the floor.”
“It’s the seal. Now I need to draw the rest of it on your back.” He said as he walked over to me and started to draw the rest of the seal on my back.
“So that’s why you had me change.” I said.
“Yes, alright, I’m finished. Now all I have to do is seal the curse mark. Are you ready?” he said.
“Yes.” I said.
“Very well, then let’s begin.” He said and performed the hand signs for the sealing jutsu. Once he finished the hand signs, he placed his hands over the curse mark. All the symbols on my back and on the floor formed a circle around the curse mark on my back.
“There, I’m finished. You may go and change back into your clothes now.” Kakashi said. I stood up, I was a little weak, but I walked out of the room and changed back into my clothes.
I walked back into the room and asked, “Where do I meet the Hokage at?”
“He should be waiting outside for you.” He said.
“Thanks.” I said as I walked out of the room, up the stairs, and out of the house.
