Blaqk Audio oneshot-Here under the stars

"Violet, hurry up, it'll be dark soon!" Rina called.

"Just a second Rina!" Violet called back, slightly frustrated. "I can't find my other Converse, have you seen it?"

"No sorry...oh wait!" said Rina. "I think I saw Tikka chewing on it..."

"No! Tikka!" Violet stumbled into the room with one shoe on. "Tikka, give it back!"

Tikka-Violet's yellow lab- grabbed the shoe in question and ran into the kitchen. Violet chased after her and wresteled the torn shoe from her.

"Tikka, what am I ever going to do with you?" sighed Violet.

"It's not like it wasn't full of holes anyway," pointed out Rina. Violet stuck her tongue out at her.

"Meh, you're right," Violet admitted while tying up the ratty Converse. "Ready to go?"

"Yup," said Rina, holding out Rani's leash. "Rani! Time to go for a walk!"

Rina's tiny Yorkshire terrier bounded into the room and sat on Rina's lap, trying to lick her face off. Violet laughed at them as she clipped Tikka's leash to the lab's collar.

"Okay, let's go, before it gets dark," Rina said again.

The two girls walked their dogs to the park, partaking in light conversation along the way. Once they reached the sectioned off dog part of the park, they let Tikka and Rani off their leashes. The dogs bounded off as the girls sat at the base of a large oak.

"So, what's been going on in the life of Rina?" asked Violet, leaning her head back against the smooth bark.

"Meh, not much, a bit apprehensive about going to Grade 10," admitted Rina.

"You'll do fine," Violet assured her. "Grade 10's just like Grade 9 in the sense that it's all about how you look at it."

"Haha okay," said Rina. "That doesn't really make sense but whatever."

Before Violet could respond, Rani's shrill bark squeak could be heard. The girls rushed off to see what was going on.

"Rani come back! shouted Violet.

"I hope he's okay!" Rina said. "He's so small, he could get eaten out here!"

The girls found Rani and Tikka barking at a small tan chiwawa. Rina seemed relieved that it wasn't a rotweiler or something.

"Munch get back here!" a voice called. A few seconds later two male figures appeared from the encroaching darkness. "Munch!"

"It's okay sir," said Violet. "Our dogs just heard your dog and were curious. Munch is okay."

"Oh thank goodness!" said the slightly taller of the two. He kind of reminded Violet of a cat. "Munch, you can't just run off like that!" The man scooped the chiwawa up in his arms and allowed the small dog to lick his face.

"I'm Violet, and this is Rina," said Violet, introducing herself and her best friend.

"Oh how rude of us," said the more femine of the guys, "I'm Davey and this is Jade. As you already know, this is Munch."

Rina broke out of her silence. "The yellow lab is Tikka, and the terrier's name is Rani."

"Cool, nice to meet you girls," said Davey, holding out his hand for them to shake. Rina stared at his sleeve tatts for a moment before something clicked in her head.

"Hey, Davey and Jade!" she exclaimed. "Aren't you the guys from AFI who have Blaqk Audio?"

Jade looked at Davey warily. "That's us," he said slowly. "You guys aren't gonna go rabid fangirl on us are you?"

"Yeah right," scoffed Violet. Rina shook her head. "So what brings you guys to the park?"

"Jade said Munch neededa walk," answered Davey," and I needed to get some fresh air." Davey fake glared at his companion.

"Nice," said Violet, before turning to look at Davey. "Um, what are you doing?"

Davey was leaning closer to Rina, scrutinizing her eyes. "I love that shade of eyeliner, it really brings our your eyes," he complimented Rina. "What colour is it?"

"Tourquoise," blushed Rina. "And thanks, I really like your's too. What shadow is that, pink with glitter stars in it?"

"Yeah," said Davey, giving a toothy grin. "My good friend Jeffree Starr gave it to me for Christmas last year."

Violet rolled her eyes at the mention of the Myspace star's name and went over to talk to Jade.

"So Jade, what's your favorite brand of guitar to use?"

"Gibson definetly," said Jade. "I really like the way their Les Pauls sound."

"I'm prone to their SGs myself," admitted Violet. "But I definetly agree that Gibson's the way to go."

"Oh look, a shooting star!" squealed Davey. Everyone looked up in awe. Rina and Violet lay on their backs in the grass and the boys soon followed suit. Rina couldn't think of any place she'd rather be.

Rani let out a squeaky yawn and everyone laughed at him. "Rani's right, I guess," sighed Rina. "It's pretty late, we should be heading back."

"We'll walk you home," offered Davey. "That is, if you don't mind..."

"No of course not," said Violet, perhaps a bit too quickly, looking at Jade.

"Cool," said Davey, looking at Rina out of the corner of his eye. "Let's go."

As the quartet walked back to the girls' hotel they realized how much they had in common.

"See you later?" Rina questioned Davey hopefully.

"Sure!" said Davey. "Give me your phone, I'll program my number into it."

"Do you have a phone Vi?" asked Jade.

"A land one," admitted Violet. "I prefer email really."

"Oh," said Jade, slightly dissapointed.

"I have a pen," said Violet.

"Awesome!" cheered up Jade. "Here, let me give you my msn."

After forms of contact had been exchanged, the boys said goodbye and headed back to their place.

Rina gave Violet a hug. "Can you believe we actually got to meet the Jade and Davey?"

"I know, isn't it weird?" said Violet. "They were so normal too!"

"Well, our kind of normal." added Rina.

Violet laughed. "True, true. I think this could be the start of a beautiful friendship."

"I think so too," agreed Rina. "Let's put the dogs to bed and watch Life on the Murder Scene?"

"Sounds good, want to make some cookies to go with it?" asked Violet.

"Yes!" exclaimed Rina. "I swear Violet, sometimes I think we share the same brain."

"Me too,and that's why we're best friends forever,"said Violet, drinking from her water bottle.

"Forever," agreedRina, hitting herwater bottle against Violet's. "To the end."
