Misa's blonde hair glowed in the darkness. The orange and pink streaks in her hair blew back with the wind from her bedroom window. Misa looked out the window. Itachi and Kisame were out searching for Naruto, the Nine Tailed Fox's Bijuu. A tear fell from Misa's now grey eyes.
"Naruto-nii-chan is no match for Itachi-sama…" Misa muttered to herself. (Nii-chan means little brother)
Misa looked down at her black and red cloak. As part of the Akatsuki she could not say anything against the Leader's orders. She remembered the Ninetail's attack vividly. She remembered how it felt to know that monster was sealed inside of her own brother. She knew how he felt. She herself had a Mutant Cat demon inside of her. That's why the Akatsuki let her join. She hoped Naruto was doing better than he was before. He would always come home from the Ninja Academy crying about no one listening or playing with him. She hoped he had friends and that he was strong now.
Her thoughts were interrupted by a knock on the door. "Hey Misa-chan, come on out! You've been in there forever, un!"
Misa recognized her Akatsuki friend's phrase he ended every sentence with. "Coming Deidara!" she said.
"Hey what's wrong?" Deidara said as Misa walked out. Misa shook her head. She didn't want him to see her like this. Almost every night she was like this; she didn't want Deidara to become worried or worse, laugh at her. But Deidara just let her pass without another word. Misa was thankful.
Misa sat down in a small chair in the main room of the Akatsuki hideout. Sasori was there, too. He smiled at Misa with his usual smile and then went back to fixing one of his puppets. Deidara walked in after a short while and sat on the opposite side of the room as Misa. Sasori looked at him and Deidara nodded slightly.
"I'm going to bed," Sasori said. Misa gave him a funny look. Did puppets sleep?
After the sound of Sasori's door closing was heard Deidara stood up. He walked towards Misa and looked down.
"Misa…" Deidara began.
"Yeah?" the girl replied. "Look about earlier-"
"No that's not it." Deidara said without even a "un". Deidara sighed deeply. "Misa, I'm supposed to extract your demon out of you."
Misa's entire body jumped. "W-what?!" she stammered. "B-but that'd k-kill me!"
Deidara bit his lower lip. "I'm sorry…"
"But why!?" Misa started crying.
"Well with Naruto Uzumaki being the only other demon left… the Leader said it's time we get yours, too…" Deidara looked almost as if he were ready to cry himself.
Misa turned to look away from Deidara. "Please don't Deidara-kun!" she cried out. "I'd do anything for you…" Tears streamed down her face.
"I'm sorry Misa, but it's the Leader's orders…"
"But I love you!" Misa yelled. Her eyes widened. She stood up but Deidara grabbed her arm. His grip was firm.
"What did you say?" Deidara asked.
Misa tried to pull away. Deidara grabbed her other arm and slowly pulled Misa towards him. Misa's arms trembled. "Deidara…"
Deidara put his arms around her and pulled her to his chest. "I love you, too."
Misa gasped. Her eyes met Deidara's. Deidara's eyes were sincere; he truly meant what he said. Misa put her arms around Deidara. She pressed her head to Deidara's chest and let another tear fall down.
Deidara brought his hand to Misa's chin and pulled her face to his. He softly pressed his lips to hers. Misa looked at him wide-eyed, but she knew she liked it. Deidara pulled away. Misa hugged him tight, she never wanted to let go.
"What around Leader's orders?" Misa whispered.
"Who needs this place?" Deidara said. "If you're not welcome here, I won't stay either, un."
Misa smiled slightly at Deidara's kind offer. And with that Deidara took her hand and led the way to the exit.
