I know it is long, but please do me the curtsy of reading my memo. Thank you in advanced. Oh, and request, request, request! I need more material in order to expand my one-shot collection.
Without further ado:
This was the third time this week. You were actually sick of it. Hiei was constantly complaining to the others about you and your inability to fight and said how lousy of a student you were to Genkai. You sat outside on the porch steps to that old house and just basically pouted. Kuwabara stepped out onto the porch and looked at you with sympathy, "I'm sorry about that _______. He is always like that. The runt." His insult made you giggle, but you still felt as if you were useless. Kuwabara smiled at you and then shyly ran a hand through his orange hair, "I know the feeling, like you are useless or something, I am like that all the time." You looked up from the ground you were staring at, it was hard to believe that Kuwabara actually understood the feeling. He slowly sat beside you on the paint-chipped steps and was closer then the two of you had ever been. "Kuwabara," you said wit admiration, "Thanks." He gave you cheesy, but cute smile and placed a hand on your shoulder, "_______, can I tell you something? It's actually kinda embarrassing." You returned the looked and simply nodded, "Of course." He spoke softly, "Before you came here I always was pushed around by Hiei, but you actually talked to me like I am a person. I'm glad I met you." You could not believe it, but it seemed you; you and the same guy who scored under a 12 on his test were on the same page. There was actually more to him then met the eyes. He wasn’t just a stupid oaf as some proclaimed him, nor was he a hideous beast. He was a profound human-being, with a heart. Then as if on cue, Hiei trudged onto the porch as if in obligation. “Hn,” he murmured, almost inaudibly. You glanced at him, breaking your eye contact with Kuwabara, “What?” Hiei sighed and then murmured again, “Sorry.” You could barely hear him, but it seemed he was trying to apologize to you. Kuwabara glared at him, “Louder, so she can here you, flea.” Hiei hissed, “Silence, you disfigured elephant face. I said it, did I not?” Kuwabara returned his angry stare and spoke again, “You frickin’ half-pint, I am gonna kick your midget butt if you call me that again! Just go inside, will ya?” Hiei groaned, but strangely enough went back into the house. You thought you may have heard Kurama ask Hiei if he apologized, even though by now it was evident that Kurama put him up to it you we feeling better about your abilities. Kuwabara smiled, “See, it’s only Hiei that thinks that way, and he thinks that way about everyone.” You smiled and now you felt even closer to Kuwabara then ever. “Kuwabara, thank you for making me feel like I belong.” Then, as if a moment sent down by angels, the two of you shared a kiss. Then it began to rain.
