Chapter 8: Finding a Home

Naruto’s point of view

“Did Ayami really just smile?” I asked myself.

Another nurse walked into the room and said, “Iruka please come with me.”

“Alright, I’ll see you later Naruto.” Iruka said.

“Alright, see you later sensei.” I said. After the nurse and Iruka walked out of the room, I went to check on Ayami. I walked to the room that I saw the nurse take her to and knocked on the door.

“Who’s there?” she asked.

“It’s Naruto, Aya, I mean Ayami. May I come in?” I asked.

“Sure.” She said. I opened the door and walked inside.

“Sorry about calling you Aya.” I said. Aya was sitting in the window and she turned to look at me.

“Oh, I don’t mind. You can call me Aya, if you want. So, why are you here?” she said.

“Well, it’s about what you said earlier. You said you were protecting a friend. I thought you said that you didn’t need or want any friends.” I said. She smiled and laughed a little.

“Maybe I lied.” She said.

“Alright, where are you living at?” I asked.

“I don’t have a home.” She said as she looked out the window.

“Why not live with me, until you get a house?” I asked.

“Alright, just wait till the nurse comes back and bandages my wounds. Then we can leave.” She said

Aya’s point of view

“Naruto just asked me to come and live with him and I agreed. Maybe I was lying to myself; maybe I do need a friend. A friend like Naruto.” I thought to myself.

“Alright Miss. Aya let me see your wounds.” A nurse said as she walked in the room.

“I’ll just wait outside for you Aya.” Naruto said as he walked out the door.

The nurse examined my wound and said, “This is odd, your wound is already healed.”

“Very well, then I’ll be leaving now.” I said as I got out of the window and walked out the door.

“So what’d the nurse say?” Naruto asked as he followed me out of the hospital.

“She said my wound has already healed. It’s probably because of my demon.” I said.

“Your demon? So you have on too?” Naruto asked.

“Yeah that’s why my sister blames me for the death of our entire village. I have Shadow, the ten-tailed cat demon, sealed inside me.” I said.

“I have….” Naruto didn’t get to finish what he was saying because I cut him off.

“I already know. I heard what Mizuki said. Where can I buy some clothes? I really need new ones.” I said.

“Alright, follow me.” He said. We went to a store and I bought new clothes They weren’t purple, they were tan.

The shirt was white and it only covered my chest. The jacket was only a little longer than the shirt. The pants only went to the middle of my shins, there was a red ribbon around the waist of the pants, and I wore tan ninja shoes. I bought a tan belt and strapped it diagonal around my waist.

“Alright, I’m ready.” I said.

“Let’s go home then.” Naruto said.
