I couldn't decide whether to scream, while storming out of the house. Or to find the forgiveness I knew was inside of me. Jamia placed herself in front of me before I could think about leaving, my back turned to him. The piano ringing of a soft melody, with Gerard's voice haunting the room.
I don’t want a lot for Christmas
There is just one thing I need
I don’t care about the presents underneath the Christmas tree
I just want you for my own
I had began to turn around, to face Gerard. He was in his suit with no jacket, with his hair slicked back & a red bow tie.
More than you could ever know
Make my wish come true
Baby all I want for Christmas is you...
He keyed the melody over again, tears streaming down my cheek. The melody softened in my ears while Gerard made his way over to me. I hesitated, as he placed his hand in mine. We stood inches apart, the awkwardness simmering. I looked away from him, trying to hide my sobbing. His soothing hand lifted my chin, bringing our eyes to glance into each other's eyes. " Baby, I love you more than anything. What happened, it means nothing compared to how much I love you." He webbed while the words were like music to my ears. Before he could continue, my soul gave in. I embraced him and I buried my head into his chest. "I love you..." I cried through all my emotion being released.
He pulled away after a few moments, still grasping my head. He paused before facing me. His other hand slipped inside his pocket. "Christine, I have said this so much but I love you so much." As his words flowed into my ears, he began to shrink. Not in size but in height until I realized he was kneeling. I gasped, more tears damping my eyelids. "Will you marry me?"
An unexpected shriek escaped from behind us. Gerard & I glanced to see Jamia shushing Frank's overjoyed face. I giggled then to face Gerard. "Yes, Gerard Way. I will!" He leaped up, his lips crashing on mine. I felt the reconnecting of our hearts, wrapping my arms his neck. I pulled him into me more, as he slinked his arm around my waist. I smiled, glancing at him. He returned the smile, pulling me into his embrace. I never wanted to let go, thought I knew that time would come.
For the rest of the night, we had dinner with Jamia and Frank. Gerard & I sat watched as they drove away. When they were out of visual, Gerard picked me up over his shoulder. "Ggggerardddddddd! What are you doing?!"
"Santa's coming home early this year!" he chuckled, heading towards our room. He placed me on the bed, crawling on top of me. I wrapped my legs around him. He pressed his lips on mine, feeling the passion boiling in my skin. He pulled away, meeting my gaze.
"I love you, baby." He spoke softly, resting his head on my chest. I tangled my fingers through his hair. "I love you too." I whispered. " And Christmas means nothing without you."
Gerard sat up grasping me into his arms. We lay restful, as he began singing softly in my ear. We lay together, as all the little children around the world waited for Santa to grant them their Christmas wish.
