The Ups And Downs Of Marrying A Celebrity [Arranged Marriage][Chapter 20: And That's When The World Stopped]
Shocking, I tell you, shocking! After Taylor and I's plane landed, we headed to the Hilton hotel to book a room. We made our way to the front desk.
"Welcome to the Hilton Hotel in Seattle, do you have a reservation or do you wish to book a room now?" A woman in the front desk spoke with a warm smile on her face.
"Um, yes. What room is available for Lance Spektor's girlfriend?" Taylor said, nudging me.
The woman squinted her eyes, "How do I know this is actually Mr. Spektor's girlfriend?"
"We knew you'd ask that," Taylor said, looking at me so I could hand the woman the tabloid article and my driver's license.
The woman, after I handed the evidence to her, stared at the article and license, examining it.
"Looks like it all checks out," The woman said, and I quickly read her name tag that said June.
"Of course it does." Taylor said, smirking.
"So, Ms. Andrews, would you like our penthouse suite?" June asked, smiling once again.
I nodded, still in awe that this was actually working. Taylor quickly got the room key from June and we headed towards the elevator.
Taylor gripped my hand comfortingly and rubbed his thumb across my knuckles. He could tell I was nervous.
"Thanks." I said, blushing slightly.
"Anytime, babe." He grinned, cheekily.
I rolled my eyes and was about to retort when we arrived at the room floor.
We got off the elevator and headed down a hallway where there was a large double-door at the end.
"I'm guessing this is it." Taylor said and inserted the room key.
The room was the size of a large apartment. When we entered, there was a platform that descended two stairs down into a living area. On the right was the kitchen and two bathrooms, on the left, was two large bedrooms with another two bathrooms and a game room. Straight-ahead was a glass door that led to a patio that showed a magnificent view of the Pacific Ocean.
"This is amazing!" I yelled, checking out the refrigerator stock. I looked over to see Taylor talking on his cell phone again.
On the plane, Taylor had looked very nervous and somewhat guilty. Every time I asked him what was wrong, he would simply shrug and put on a large smile. I definitely knew he was hiding something, but since technically, I wasn't his girlfriend anymore, I couldn't beg him to tell me. But, I really wish he would.
Taylor hung up his phone, "That was Tate, he wants to meet up and have dinner with us."
"Us?" I asked.
"Yeah, I don't know. He said, he wants to ask you something about Jewls. And, if he wants to get with Jewls, he thinks he should get to know you better." Taylor replied, rolling his eyes.
"That makes sense." I shrugged.
"Well, I'm going to go unpack." I said, heading off to my room.
"Taylor?" I stopped before I entered my room.
"Yeah?"
"Thanks, for everything." I said quietly.
Taylor frowned and looked like he did on the plane. "Anytime."
I sighed, wishing I knew what was going on, and went into my room.
-0-
I heard the knock on the door before Taylor. He told me to go ahead and get the door and he'd be out in five minutes.
I figured it was Tate, and I quickly ran towards the door. I was right, and there he was, Tate Long. His hair was a little longer and shaggier than I remember, but he looked overall the same, but he wasn't smiling when I opened the door,
"Is Taylor around?" He asked, urgently and quietly.
"No, he's getting dressed. Are you okay?" I asked, concerned.
"I'm fine, but I need to tell you something before Taylor gets back." He said, grabbing my shoulders. I was getting worried.
"What? What's going on?"
"You're not going to like what I'm about to tell you but it's the absolute truth." He spoke, sadly.
"Okay..." I said, skeptically.
"All right, here it goes: Taylor is a part of the reason you broke up with Lance."
And that's when the world stopped.
