The Ups And Downs Of Marrying A Celebrity [Arranged Marriage][Chapter 21: For One Last Time]
I still love Taylor!Cassie's POV
"Wh-what?" I couldn't understand if I heard Tate correctly.
"Taylor knew you'd break up with Lance. He sort of planned it?" He said, sadly.
"No, he wouldn't do that." I convinced myself.
"You really hurt him, Cass. People react in different ways when they are hurt. You should talk to him." Tate replied.
"Cass! Is that Tate?" I heard Taylor yell. Tate shook his head, signaling what my reply should be.
"Look, I'm going to go," Tate whispered. "Just hear him out." And with that, Tate left.
I closed the door, quietly, and headed to the bathroom where Taylor was perfecting his hair.
"Taylor?" I asked, and he looked of the mirror and to me.
"Yeah?" He looked at my face, "Something wrong?"
"Um, I don't really know where to start." I said, and he exited the bathroom and we together we sat on the couch in the living area.
"Well, maybe you should start with what's wrong." Taylor said.
"Okay, the problem is: you've been lying to me." I started, calmly, "And, I'd like to know why." I surprisingly wasn't angry. Taylor, I could sense, was still a good person but just was hurt, unlike Riley and Clarice who had to be two of the most evil people I've ever met.
Taylor's face went blank. "Y-you know?" He stuttered.
"I just want to know why you did it." I asked, remaining calm.
"Well, to be quite honest, I don't really know why. I just was so angry at you for dumping me just to go off and go on with someone else. I kind of felt betrayed. Stupid, I know."
I could feel myself starting to cry, "How?"
"Well, I didn't really plan much. Riley called me actually, I planned on getting you back but I didn't really come up with a plan. I didn't intend on actually doing something, I just was talking a bunch of junk. Riley asked me to come to California and keep you occupied in a restaurant so she could trick Lance into kissing her." Taylor looked down, guiltily.
"Tricked him? He didn't do it?" I started crying tears now.
"No, Riley had to force him too. She was who I was talking to after it happened when you came back to the table."
"But you said it was Tate..."
"Surprise! I lied." He began to laugh sadly. "Well, after that happened, her calling me, I just went to California and the rest you know. I really wish I could take it all back, I would. You didn't even apologize when you saw me in California. You just acted as if...I don't know, like I wouldn't care that you dumped me for someone else." He ran a had through his thick curly hair.
"I'm sorry." I said, wiping my tears. His head jolted up. "I really am, I should've been more considerate."
"Me too. I should have never sabotaged your relationship with Lance. You seem to really like him." Taylor said with a small smile.
"I did." I said, smiling a little bit. "But, I can't go back to him now, I already left." I frowned slightly.
"Psh, we can get you back. He'd be crazy if he let you go again." Taylor smiled, "I wouldn't."
I smiled and turned to Taylor engulfing him in large hug.
"I missed you, you know." I said.
"Really?" He asked.
"Yeah, you are one of my good friends even if we had a little bump along the way." I smiled into his chest.
"I love you Cassie." Taylor said. I knew he didn't mean in that way, since he openly suggested that I go back to Lance.
"I love you too, Tay." I said, and we fell asleep on the couch, together, for one last time.
