The next morning
“Aya, wake up.” Shadow said as she jumped on my head. I quickly sat up and she fell off of the bed.
“What time is it?” I asked, still half asleep.
“Six o’clock, so you have one hour and thirty minutes to get ready for school.” She said. I sighed, got out of bed, and went to the bathroom. I turned the shower on, undressed, and got in. Once I finished, I got out, got dressed in the school uniform, brushed my hair, and walked out of the bathroom.
“Aya, why won’t you wear the girl’s uniform?” Shadow asked, while jumping on my shoulder.
“You know that I hate skirts, well short skirts anyways.” I said, while walking downstairs. I walked into the kitchen and started to cook some rice for breakfast.
“So are you taking me to school with you today?” Shadow asked, jumping off of my shoulder, and onto the table.
“Yeah, I guess.” I said as I put some rice into a bowl, sat down at the table, and started to eat. Once I finished, I walked back upstairs, and went to the bathroom. I brushed my teeth and then walked back out if the bathroom. I grabbed my bag, made sure everything was inside, and went back downstairs. I walked into the kitchen, sat my bag on the table, and washed my bowl.
“Shadow, what time is it?” I asked, while drying my bowl.
Shadow looked at the clock and said, “Seven- thirty.”
“Alright, let’s go to school.” I said. I opened my back and Shadow jumped inside. I closed my bag, picked it up, and walked outside. I turned around, locked the door, and started to walk to school.
“Aya, can you let me out of the bag, at least until we get to school?” Shadow asked.
I sighed and said, “Alright, fine.” I opened my bag, pulled Shadow out, and closed my bag.
I sat Shadow on my shoulder and she said, “Thank you.”
“Yeah, whatever.” I said.
“Aya, wait up.” I heard someone yell. I stopped and turned around. I saw Rukia running up to me and Ichigo walking slowly behind.
“Good morning, Aya.” Rukia said when she reached me.
“Hey Rukia.” I said in my usual emotionless voice.
Ichigo finally reached us and said, “Good morning.”
“Whatever.” I said as I turned back around and started to walk again. Ichigo and Rukia followed.
“So, Aya, what’s with the stuffed cat?” Ichigo asked, while looking at Shadow.
Shadow jumped on my head and said, “Who are you calling a stuffed cat?!” I stopped and had a scared look on my face and so did Shadow.
Ichigo picked Shadow up and said, “So you’re just like Kon.” I turned and looked at him. He sat Shadow back on my head and opened his bag. He pulled out a stuffed lion and closed his bag back.
“What is it this time Ichigo?” The stuffed lion said.
Ichigo turned Kon around and said, “Say hello to Aya, Kon.”
“So you have an artificial soul as well.” I said, while looking at Kon.
“So you were the soul reaper that was at the middle school yesterday.” Ichigo said.
“Yeah.” I said.
“Well thanks for saving my sisters.” Ichigo said.
“Whatever.” I said and started to walk toward school again.
“So what’s the cat’s name?” Ichigo asked.
“The name’s Shadow.” Shadow said.
Ichigo’s point of view
“Ichigo, wake up.” Kon yelled while jumping on me. I sat up and threw him across the room.
“What time is it?” I asked.
“Seven- thirty, I’ll meet you outside.” Rukia said while stepping out of my closet and jumping out of my window. I got out of bed, got dressed in my uniform, and walked down stairs.
“Good morning Ichigo.” Yuzu said while handing me a bowl of rice.
“Where’s dad?” I asked as I sat down and started to eat.
“I’m right here.” I heard my dad say as he walked into the kitchen.
“Good morning dad.” Yuzu said and handed him a bowl of rice.
“Did you three know that we have new neighbors?” Dad asked while eating his rice.
“No.” Karin, Yuzu, and I said at the same time.
“Well we do, so when you three come home from school, we are going to meet them.” My dad said.
“Alright, well I’ll see you after school.” I said as I grabbed my bag and walked out of the house. Rukia met me right outside the door and we started to walk to school together.
“Hey is that Aya?” Rukia asked pointing to a girl walking in front of us.
“I think it is.” I said.
“Aya, wait up.” Rukia yelled. Aya stopped and turned around. Rukia ran up to her and I just walked slowly behind.
“Good morning, Aya.” Rukia said when she Aya.
“Hey Rukia.” Aya said in her usual emotionless voice.
I finally reached them and said, “Good morning.”
“Whatever.” Aya said and turned back around and started to walk again. Rukia and I followed.
“So, Aya, what’s with the stuffed cat?” I asked, while looking at the stuffed cat on her shoulder.
The cat jumped on Aya’s head and said, “Who are you calling a stuffed cat?!” Aya stopped and had a scared look on her face and so did the stuffed cat.
I picked the stuffed cat up and said, “So you’re just like Kon.” Aya turned and looked at me. I sat the stuffed cat back on Aya’s head and opened my bag. I pulled out a stuffed lion and closed my bag back.
“What is it this time Ichigo?” Kon said.
I turned Kon around and said, “Say hello to Aya, Kon.”
“So you have an artificial soul as well.” Aya said, while looking at Kon.
