Lunch Time

Aya’s point of view

Rukia walked up to me and asked, “Hey Aya, do you want to have lunch with Ichigo, me, and the rest of our friends?”

“Sure, I guess.” I said as I grabbed my lunch and followed Rukia to the school roof. Once we reached the roof, Rukia walked over to Ichigo and I followed.

A boy with tan hair and grey eyes, walked up to Ichigo and said, “Hey Ichigo, who’s you hot new friend?” I turned and glared at him.

“Keigo, this is Aya. Aya, this is Keigo.” Ichigo said.

“It’s nice to meet you beautiful.” Keigo said as he grabbed my hand and kissed it. I pulled my hand away and slapped him.

“If you want to live, I suggest that you leave me alone.” I said as I sat down and started to eat. Keigo face was filled with fear and he walked back over to the rest of the people that were on the roof. I leaned against the wall, Rukia stood on my left, and Ichigo sat down and leaned against the wall on my right.

“Aya, why are you always so cold hearted toward people?” Rukia asked.

“When I was with my mom, I always had a smile on my face. Whenever she entered a room, I would smile. When I was three, she would always take me to a dojo. On my fourth birthday, we were on our way back home from the dojo, it was raining, and the river was flooding. I saw a boy about to jump into the river, so I ran to stop him, but he disappeared. My mom tackled me, but I didn’t know why, and when she did, it knocked me out. When I woke up, her dead body was laying on top of mine. I’m not sure what happened, but I blame myself for it. For at least two years, after school, I would go down to the river, and walk around in circles where it happened.” I said as I looked at the ground.

“The same thing happened to me, except it wasn’t on my birthday, and it was a girl that I saw about to jump into the river when I was seven. I found out that it was a Hollow named Grand Fisher that killed my mother. I tried to kill him but he was too strong for me.” Ichigo said.

“What about your father?” Rukia asked.

“My father told me that he was a soul reaper and he always told me about a school he went to when he was younger, called the soul reaper academy. He would teach me how to wield a sword and how to defend myself. On my seventh birthday, my father, my brother, and I were visiting my mother’s grave. A Hollow attacked my father and he turned into a soul reaper, but he was critically injured. My brother wasn’t there at the time and I was trying to protect my father. My father told me that he would die, right there next to my mother’s grave and he told me that he could give me his powers. All he had to do was stab me with his sword. I allowed him to and I killed the Hollow. He died right after that.” I said, still looking at the ground.

“So you’re living with your brother?” Rukia asked.

“No. On my eleventh birthday, my brother and I were visiting our parent’s graves, and a Hollow attacked me. I couldn’t transform into my soul reaper form, and my brother was protecting me. He ended up dying next to my mother’s and father’s graves. On my twelfth birthday, I was visiting the graves and I saw my brother’s soul. A Hollow came up behind him and turned him into a Hollow. Since I couldn’t transform into a soul reaper, all I could do was run. I ended up running into a shop owned by a man named Kisuke Urahara.” I said as I stood up.

“If you were still living in Karakura town then why weren’t you going to school?” Ichigo asked as he stood up.

“Kisuke gave me some soul candy, but the first one I ate contained Shadow. I put her soul into that cat stuffed animal and every time I needed to I would remove her soul and put it into my body. Kisuke was helping me train my soul reaper powers, since I was eleven, and I just recently finished all of my training.” I said as I started to walk toward the stairs.

“I still blame myself for the deaths of my family because they died protecting me.” I said and walked down the stairs just as the bell rang.
