[Nick Jonas] Underdog [02] That Lives Next Door To Me
Alright, another boring chappy...not really, haha. “Babe!” Tyler said, coming up, linking an arm around my neck, pulling me in for a hug, and kissing my head. “That was amazing? Who was that about?” He pulled me away, and played with my hair a bit.
You.
“No one.”
“Cool. I liked it.” He giggled a bit, and I looked towards Melina.
“Meli!” I yelled, and I held up my hands; she looped her fingers in mine. “How’d you like it?” I asked, pointing my eyes in the direction of Tyler. She knew why I sang it.
“The song was amazing. I definitely think you picked the right one.” She smiled her warming smile, and then her nose crinkled in confusion. “Now…what are you gonna do?”
What do you mean?
“Huh?” I asked, curiously, furrowing my brow.
“I mean…if that’s the way you feel, are you gonna dump - TYLER! Hi!” She said as he appeared into our little gathering.
“So, what are you, lovely lady, speaking of?” Tyler started flirting with Melina.
Look at that! He’s flirting with my best friend right in fucking front of me! I do still love him…but he has his moments. I’ll just let it go.
Meli started signing for me.
Meli and I both know sign language, we use it in front of everyone, so we can talk, and our surounders have no clue what we’re doing.
Y – O – U – S – E – E – W – H – A – T – I – M – T – A – L – K – I – N – G – A - B –
“Nothing, really. What are you doing on Saturday?” She continued the conversation with Tyler while she was signing to me.
“Oh, you’re a nice one, aren’t y-“ He started, only to be interrupted by me.
“Stop. Enough, Meli.” I said. Tyler looked at me confused, and Meli just smiled.
“Suit yourself.” She whispered as she walked by me to go to the bathroom.
“Hurry up,” I called after her “we’re leaving in five.”
She waved at me behind her head. “Sure thing.”
“Babe, I’m a bit confused here…do you love me?” He shoved his hands into the extremely deep depths of his pockets, as he looked up at me though his curtains of eyelashes.
“Sure.” I said, moving my eyes from left to right, oblivious as to what he was about to do.
He leaned forward, and whispered in my ear: “Then come to my house at nine, and show me.” He slouched back to his original position looking at me.
“Umm…” I looked around for any hint of Meli, hoping somehow she’d defend my honour, as she always had. She was the spunky one with strength. I was strong when needed…like now for example. “No.”
“Excuse me?” He looked like he’d been slapped. “And why not?”
“You think you have your way, so now you want me to tumble at your feet? Well you know what, Tyler? I tumble for no one.” I turned to go to the bathroom and talk to Meli.
He grabbed my arm, twisted me back around, and slapped me in the face. “Don’t you ever talk to me like that again.” He whispered in my ear as he had before, only now his tone was tainted with anything but love.
People started to stare. We were in a crowded bar and a family resturant. I heard an infant begin to cry.
“Hel-“ I began, before he threw me on the ground. I heard something in my arm snap, and he kicked my stomach to the point where I couldn’t breath; blood filled my mouth and nostrils, where I couldn’t do anything but cough.
I closed my eyes and grimaced in pain, before I heard the crowd that was surrounding act up. “Kay!” I heard Meli shout in terror. I could tell she was trying to get to me.
Someone pulled Tyler off me…and that was when It got dark.
