He and I both grinned, before they drove me back to the house, and he followed me to my room, where I sat on my bed, and stared at the celing, before I sighed.
"I need a job."
"Why?" he asked, and I looked over at him.
"Duh, to get cash." I said, rolling my eyes.
"Oh yeah huh?" he asked.
"Duhsville." I said, rolling my eyes.
"Well, what do you want to do?"
"Oh my god, we should get jobs at IKEA!" I said, sitting up quickly.
"IKEA?" he asked.
"Yeah, I love that place, oh my god, that would be so fun!"
"Don't they drug test?"
"Nope. My friend Mikey works there, I bet he could put in a good word for us, he's really cool like that." I said.
"You really want to get a job at IKEA?" he asked.
"Uhh, shu-ha." I said, grinning. "It would be so fun, we totally should!"
"Wait, why should I do this again?"
"Because if you don't, you'll have to be at home all day, and bored, and stuff." I said with a shrug.
"I forgot about that." he said thoughtfully. "Okay, sure, why not?"
"Fer cereal?" I asked.
"Fruit loops." he said, and I grinned.
We got an interview for the next day, and when it came, I was ready, wearing a pair of jeans, a green hemp woven shirt, and a pair of black Converse, with green laces.
I had brushed my hair, and pulled it back into a ponytail, and put on a teeny bit of makeup, before waiting for William to come pick me up.
I was sipping a cup of orange juice, when I heard him honk.
I quickly swallowed my pill, and chugged the rest of the orange juice, and grabbed my purse on the way out.
"Hola me amore." I said, getting into the back of the limo. "I can't believe we're going to IKEA in a limo."
"Did you really just call me your love?" he asked, ignoreing what I said about the limo.
"Isn't that what we're supposed to be?"
"Not in the public eye." he said. "Not yet."
"We told that bitch we were dating." I pointed out, and he shrugged.
We got to IKEA, but parked in the gerage across the street, so to not cause a fuss (Or look like idiots, stepping out of a limo, and into IKEA), and walked to the crosswalk. I looked at the sign, and nudged him, and pointed. He looked, and laughed, before grabbing my hand, and we walked across the street.
The sign was of two people stillouetts, holding hands, and then a little kid one, not holding the other's hands. Usually, it's the other way around. (In case you're sight impared....And can read this.)
We walkedd into IKEA, and I let go of his hand, and we walked around, until we found the customer service, and they handed us some applications.
I pulled my resume from my purse, and walked up to the secritary.
"Can I borrow that?" I pointed to the stapler.
"Sure." she said, and handed it to me.
"Thanks." I said, stapling my resume to it, and then I handed her the stapler again, and sat down, and finished filling out the application.
"Lemme see." I said, grabbing William's application.
"okay." he said, as I looked at it.
I handed it back, and we waited until he was called in, and then when he walked out, and I was called in.
The room was bright, and decked out in the latest IKEA furniture.
I loved it, and the pretty red head sitting behind the desk was smiling nicely.
"Hello Petra." she smiled.
"Hello Ms. Jennings." I said, looking at her nametag.
She reminded me of the redhead from ABBA. I wonder if she's Swedish too?
"So, tell me, why do you feel you should work at IKEA?" she asked.
"Because I love the furniture, and I love just about everything about this store, and I always have, it's amazing." I said, smiling.
"And, have you had any expirence at any other IKEAs?" she asked.
"No I haven't." I anwered. "I've worked at Home Depot, but, a flower pot fell on me, and they paid me off not to report them."
"Really?" she asked, looking slightly concerned.
"Oh, yeah, but, no worries, I'm alright." I smiled. "I seem to get hit in the head alot."
"My goodness." she grinned.
"Were you in ABBA?" I asked, and then covered my mouth in embarassment. "I mean, it's just, you kinda look like-"
"I wasn't in ABBA." she smiled. "I am Swedish, but, I wasn't in ABBA, nor do I know her."
"Oh." I smiled, blushing.
"Well, um, I like you kid." she smiled. "You really want a job here?"
"Um, yes." I smiled. "I really do."
"I just gave our last job to that boy who just walked out-" I felt my face fall. Oh hell no. He just got my job. "-But I'm sure I can find a place for you." she finished. "How does week days, and $12.50 an hour sound?"
"Sounds great." I smiled, and she smiled.
"Well great love." she said, shaking my hand. "Welcome aboard."
I smiled, and went out to the lobby, where the secritary was trying to hit on Lamarr's partner.
"Guess what?" I said to William, who was looking through a catoulog.
"Hm?" he asked.
"I got the job!" I smiled.
"Me too." he said.
"I know, let's celebrate by going to get ice cream!" I grinned, and he rolled his eyes.
