I've Got a Nice Big Vampire Problem - [Chapter 15] -
Hey guys! Here is another chapter! I hope you enjoy it! And continue the awesome messages, if you please! They make me want to write so much more!!!!
My eyes darted around.
We were on a side street, alley ways all over the place. There was only one brick house at the end of the street, the rest of the buildings were abandoned shops and stores.
The car was still moving forward at a normal pace. I pricked my ears and looked around for any sign of movement.
"Abigail."
I looked at Conan. The tone of his voice was tense and rough, which made me curious. He was always both really calm and collected, or he was completely furious.
"Yea?" I squeaked. The car smoothed its way into a complete stop.
He looked at me. He looked like a wild animal that had been caged in his own body. His beautiful face closed in on mine.
It took me a moment to realize Conan was kissing me.
The only way to describe my bodies reaction is to compare it with the first time I went sky diving.
Adrenaline pounded through my veins.
The air was crushed out of my lungs.
My heart tried to soar almost painfully out my chest.
My brain went numb from the override of emotions. I couldn't react as my body flew into chaos, just let myself fly.
His lips left mine, leaving me scorching and yearning for more. My eyes fluttered open. I knew that all the emotions I normally tried to hide, like how much I liked him and the confusion towards his actions, swam deep through my irises.
Conan was wild. Intense. Dark. Hungry. His face was centimeters from me. When he spoke it was husky and thick.
"Stay here," he ordered. I nodded helplessly, not caring if I looked like an idiot.
And then he was gone.
I looked around frantically.
No. He was not allowed to disappear. He could not give me a kiss like that then disappear.
A shadow moved in the alley northeast of the car. Something roared. A very heavy object, or vampire, was thrown against a dumpster, then against the brick wall. I cringed. What if it was Conan?
Another roar echoed through the alley, and then something cut it off. An ear splitting crash, resembling thunder, screamed through the air.
A hand was placed over my mouth. I looked over at my open door. I inhaled to scream.
Percy's hand clamped itself harder around my face. A malicious smirk flashed across his face, his scar as daunting as ever.
"Now, now, Abigail. You scream and I bite you."
I closed my mouth. His hand was making my face ache. Inside my head I chanted Conan's name. If I screamed, Percy would bite me, and Conan and Mackenzie both would die.
My throat went dry and my heart clenched itself into a painfully small ball.
Percy grinned and with lightning fast movements was carrying me. One arm was holding my back and the other holding the back of my knees. I felt like his bride. I wanted to vomit.
He started to run and I forced into his chest. Lights and building flew by us. I prayed he would crash. Drop me. A car hit him. Something. I couldn't rescue Mackenzie while being prisoner with her, and I was sure Percy was going to bite me within a few minutes, so Conan would die. If I died, there would be no problem. I would not be turned by Percy. I refused to be.
He carried me for another ten minutes, passing cars on the highway like they were crawling by. I remembered Conan telling me that Percy was fast. Was he faster than Conan? I prayed he wasn't.
We stopped very suddenly in front of a rock wall. My stomach rolled and a wave of nausea washed through me. Percy kept his hold on me tight.
The moment he set me down I dropped to my hands and knees, crawled away and emptied my stomach on the hard sand. Once I was done, I heaved a breath and stood, turning to look at Percy.
He was leaning on a rock, smirking at me. I looked around. There was a big pile of rocks leaning up against the cliff face, a small crevice beside one of the biggest rocks. My eyes went back to Percy.
His cruel eyes scanned over me – judging, manipulating and cold. I bit my shiver back.
Percy looked into my eyes again and rolled off the rock. "He took good care of you." I bit my lip, trying not to say anything that would get Conan mad at me. "This should be more fun than I thought."
He disappeared for a second – then I was shoved roughly towards the small crevice. Once through the small groove, a long dark hallway sloping downwards presented itself as my walk to death. I couldn't see the end of the hallway, but kept walking anyways. Maybe something sharp would be sticking out of the wall.
I could hear Percy walking very close behind me. His finger wrapped itself around a strand of my hair and I heard him inhale. He was sniffing my hair. The urge to tear myself away from his hand was gigantic, but I knew if I ripped my head away, my hair would stay with him.
Instead I went with, "Get your face away from me, super freak!"
He gave a short laugh. His arm wrapped itself around my waist and pulled me closer to him, so I was pressed up against his chest. I tried to wiggle away from him but his steel grasp wouldn't budge. Percy stuck his face in the crook of my neck and inhaled deeply.
"Get off me!" I screeched.
"Ahh," he breathed. He let go of me and I stumbled forward, a convulsive shiver running down my back. "You humans, especially the young girls, smell simply...delicious."
I tried my best to snarl at him. "And you smell like shit on a stick!"
From the little light in the hallway I could see his twisted grin. He grabbed my arm and started to drag me into the darkness. "You're feisty, just like your friend."
"Where is she?" I snapped.
"You'll be meeting her soon enough."
Though many bad insults and swear words sat at the tip of my tongue, I kept my mouth shut. I didn't want to say anything that could insult him for fear that he might hurt Mackenzie and bite me.
The walk through the tunnel was short but terrifying. Every second seemed like it was one second closer to Percy biting me. Every step was one step further from Conan.
Finally I saw light. It was dim candle light, but it was light none-the-less. The light showed how the tunnel took a sharp slanted turn heading downwards. I almost hurried my step but stopped when I remembered where I was heading.
There would be more vampires down there. Crap.
Mackenzie.
Mackenzie might be down there. I took an audible deep breath and blew it out. If we survived this and she and she ever ditched me, I knew exactly what I would say. I walked through a huge clan of evil vampires to rescue you and you're ditching me?
She would say, It's your fault I was kidnapped anyways, so shut up!
I grinned at the little scene in my head. As Percy tugged me around the corner, my grin disappeared faster then it had come.
Oh God.
