Both you and Inuyasha had been playing for quite some time now. Your ankle was still swollen, plus it hurt to press on it so you stayed sitting on the ground while Inuyasha would throw you the ball.
It was your turn to throw in the game of catch you both were playing. Inuyasha caught the ball only half-heartidly though. He looked into the distance, seemingly at the bushes he kept going or coming through, though you knew that was not the case. It was probably beyond it and that was when you heard it.
"Inuyasha" The voice was gentle and kind, yet you could hear the hints of panic and worry laced into it.
Your eyebrows shot up when realization hit. The voice was calling for Inuyasha. Despite all the pain that shot through your ankle, you continued to get up because Inuyasha had run off.
While you were running, tears started to form in the brim of you eyes from the pain.
"Inuyasha" the both of you didn't have to run long since the owner of the the voice was on the move too, so it seemed, as the voice got louder and clearer.
It was awhile back since you couldn't see Inuyahsa. You stumbled, more like your ankle took all the pain it could handle, and ended up peeking through the bush infront of you when you fell. It was the separator for the forest behind, and the clearing that was up ahead; the one where Inuyasha was standing with an older woman infront of him.
It wasn't long before he tossed aside the ball that was in hands to run into the open arms the woman offered. When he was in her embrace, her expression became happy and relieved, though in was mixed with worry; a sad smile was placed on her lips. For what reason, neither you nor Inuyasha knew.
Inuyasha looked back from his current position. The look on his face clearly stating he just remembered something, or rather someone. "Kasumi" obviously not expecting you to be there, his eyes widened.
You got to your feet with a slight cringe. "I'm here Inuyasha" It only took a few steps to reach Inuyasha and the mystery woman you just knew had to be his mother.
When you stood infront of them, you smiled nervously. The woman smiled at you "hello Kasumi" while wiping away the stray tears that lay on your cheek.
You were now positive that she was Inuyasha's mother so it was no surprise when he later told you. She reminded you of your own mother. She was kind and had that heartwarming smile that always welcomed a child when they came back home.
Inuyasha smiled at you when you lightened up and put on a happy smile before replying to his mother "hello"
