Hey! Say! JUMP: June choose your story part 1*A6
LOOOONG!!! with much nakayama, chinen, and ryutaro fun
“Um, actually Taiga, me and Nakayama-san were going to hang out this afternoon. Sorry.” You say, trying to sound as regretful as possible
Yuma’s eyes widen, but other then that he didn’t give away his surprise.
Even so, Taiga frowns at Yuma and whines, “So you weren’t busy this afternoon Yuma-chan! You were just avoiding me… You could have told me if you didn’t want to go!”
“What? No! I really am busy! Wirrimusu-san is just coming with me! She… I’m going to Shibuya this afternoon with friends. And when I told her that she said she wanted to see Shibuya. So I invited her along is all.”
“Ooh…” Taiga buys it and smiles at you and says, “So you’re still into sightseeing and stuff June? I’ll take you next time, okay?” Then he runs off and Yuma sighs in relief.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t think you might have plans…”
“Huh? No, it’s okay. You can come if you want. Want to see Shibuya?”
“Yeah! Can I really come?”
“Yeah, sure, we’re not shopping for anything in particular, just for fun.”
“T-thank you!”
So you head out to the station, kissing forgotten entirely. It isn’t that far away either, turns out you took the long route earlier, and there was a station that was much closer, according to Yuma.
On the way you don’t talk much because you are too busy taking in the sights, and Yuma is messaging who you guess are his friends, telling them that you’re coming.
Then something catches your eye. There’s a books store across the street, with a magazine in it. It’s the newest issue of Wink-up. You stop and just stare at it. You’ve only ever read the scans online but you’ve never actually seen a real one!
Yuma finally notices you stopped when he gets to the end of the block and yells back “What’s up?”
“Can I stop in the bookstore real quick? Will we still make the train?”
“Yeah, we still have some time, what do you want? Won’t it be weird reading books in Japanese, isn’t it more comfortable in English?”
“But they don’t make Wink-up in English…”
“Wha? You want one of those? That’s for fans!”
“Who said I wasn’t a fan?”
“No one… I just figured…”
“I’ll be right back,” you say as you run off.
You hurry even though he said you have time, and are out in seconds, ignoring the funny look the casheer gave you.
When you get back to Yuma, you walk beside him and open it up, quickly flipping through to find HSJ. You pass a picture of him and hold it up, “It’s you!”
He smiles, then asks “So, if you’re a fan, have you seen some of Taiga and my proformaces?”
“Yeah! You’re both reeeally good! I hope you debut soon!”
“Thanks… but who is it that you’re fans of exactly?”
You flip back to the cover, “Hey! Say! JUMP.”
“Aaah… so you’re a fan of Yamada-kun’s” (by now you’re at the station)
“What? No! Well, yes, but he’s not my favorite or anything.”
“Oh, sorry… It just seems like everyone is.”
“You think?” you laugh, “You have a lot of fans too you know.”
“Yeah, I guess. So, who is your favorite then?”
“I don’t have one. Although I like the 7s a little more because they are closer to my age. I like them all for different reasons! Ryosuke is the most popular pick. He’s cool and cute at the same time, are really talented. But Yuto is really nice and seems really funny. Chinen has an amazing voice and is so cutely hyper! And Keito is really sweet and quiet. Then Ryutaro is just adorable---“
Nakayama laughs, “Ryutaro? Adorable?”
“Uh, yeah.” You say as you get on the train, “He’s so little compared to everyone else…” you stop because you see that Yuma is still giggling, “What?”
“Nothing, nothing. I just can’t wait for you to meet my friends.”
“You’ll see.”
You look at him questioningly… what was that supposed to mean?
A few minutes later, the train stops at another station, and another wave of people get on. Then you stare. No way, is he coming over here?
He is indeed. Morimoto Ryutaro is walking strait for you, and sitting down next to you, in between you and Yuma.
Yuma grins at you.
Then Ryutaro starts complaining about Takaki always bothering him about who he likes. You’re too surprised to notice that he hasn’t acknowledged that you’re there.
Then Nakayama clears his throat and points to you.
Ryutaro spins around, “Huh? Who’s this?”
“Honestly Ryutaro-kun. You really have to check your phone more often… I explained it all in a text message before.” Yuma says, then sighs, “This is Samantha. Her real name is Wirrimusu June. She’s tagging along with us today, because I invited her so that she could see Shibuya.”
“H-hey” you stutter.
“Oh, and she’s kind of a fan of HSJ’s. But she’s cool. Not like the screamy ones.”
“Samantha huh? So this one of your victims…”
Yuma hits him (lightly), “No! We’re friends, right Jun-chan?”
You’re a bit startled by his new name for you, but you don’t mind it. You grin and nod.
Then the train stops again, and you look around eagerly. He did say friendS. I wonder who the other one is! You aren’t disappointed. You soon spot Chinen Yuri, and Yuma waves him over, “Over here Chii-kun!”
He bounces over and sits right next to you. “Hey Yuma-kun! Ryuu!... And who’s this? Yuma-kun’s got a lady friend?”
“Do either of you EVER check your phone?”
“Nope!” they answer in unison.
Yuma sighs and Ryutaro says, “This is Nakayama-kun’s kissy friend. Samantha.”
“Oooh! The one you said you hoped ended up being really cute? You must be really happy, ne?”
Both you and Nakayama blush, and he stammers “I- I’m not t-that happy…”
“Are you saying that Samantha-san isn’t cute?” Chinen drapes himself over you and scolds him, “Mean Yuma-kun.”
“Aw he’s lying. He’s totally got the hots for her! Isn’t that right Nakayama-kun?” Ryutaro says, smiling mischievously.
“N-not true! I don’t like her at all!”
“Mean mean mean Nakayama.” Ryutaro sings.
“Aw, there there Jun-chan (the name is spreading!). If you need a shoulder to cry on…” Yuri conferts you and pulls your head into his chest.
Yuma frowns and Ryutaro taps him on the nose, “Oooo. Look at that face! Are you jelous Nakayama-kun?”
The train stops as Yuma says “No! I’m not!”
Then he grabs your hand and pulls you off of Chinen growling, “Come on, this is Shibuya.”
He pace is quite fast, so you leave Chinen and Morimoto behind by a little, but you can still hear them giggling.
He stops after a bit and turns to you, “Still like them? Still think that Ryutaro is adorable?”
“Oh yeah! I love them. Chinen’s a hunk!” he drops your hand.
You watch his reaction, then burst out laughing. He’s bright red again, and he’s looking at you like you just sprouted an extra nose.
“You should see your fac-hahahahaha!!!”
“What!?”
“Your face, you look like- you’re not actually jelous are you? Hahahaha! They’re hilarious!”
“N-no! Of course not! You think it’s funny?”
“Haha, yes! I wasn’t expecting that from them at all!”
“Oh…” he stares at the ground, “Well, I guess it was a little funny…”
You giggle a little again, then stop as you notice Chinen and Ryutaro sneaking up behind Yuma.
You try to keep his attention, so you get closer and bring his head up with one finger, giggling again, “You’re still blushing.”
“W-wha?” His hands fly up to his cheeks.
They’re only a few feet away…
“Kawaii~” you say, making him blush even more.
He frowns, “I’m not cu-“
His words are muffled as Chinen pulls a hat over his head, saying “Got you!”
Ryutaro come up next to Chinen saying “Temper, temper Nakayama-kun…”
“You almost forgot your big hat Yuma-kun! We could have been spotted!” Yuri scolds him, looking around to check that they’re safe.
“You…” Yuma snarls from under his new hat, and you notice a bit of fear flash in Ryutaro’s eyes. He knows not to push any futher.
“Um, we came here for shopping, right? Let’s go. Where do you want to go first Jun-chan?”
“Anywhere’s fine. Where do you want to go?” you say to no one in particular.
“Kinchimo!” (you guess it’s a store name) Chinen shouts, off Yuma now, “It always has the best weird stuff! Let’s go Jun-chan!” he grabs your hand and starts pulling you.
HE obviously hasn’t caught on…
You struggle against Yuri and reach out to Yuma, who takes your hand, and off you go.
You’re shopping for hours. You only stopped once to do purikura. And you all tire quickly, so you diside to stop at a crepery.
Through all the shopping, pictures, and chocolate, Yuma was now back in a good mood and chattering about the drama.
“Now that we have a Samantha it’s really fun! Jun-chan’s really good too!”
“Ah, I’m not that good. I get really nervous!”
“Eh? Really? You always look really calm!”
Yuri chimes in, “That happened to me too! I was always really nervous. And Daiki was too, but he said he was…so everyone helped him… but when I said that I was they all laughed at me like, no way!”
“Aw, I’ve never been in a drama… I feel out of it…” Ryutaro pouts.
“But you’re in Show wa Heisei and you’re really good! And you’ve been getting more and more solos lately!” Oops, let a bit of my obsessive fan side show…
“You saw? Hontou?”
“Yeah! I always watch it! I really want to come see you guys proform in person while I’m here too…”
“Why don’t you just come on Sunday then? We’re doing a concert. Yuma-kun and Taiga-kun are in it too! Ne, Yuma?”
“Huh? Yeah. Not as much though. And isn’t Shintaro in it too? With Ander-“
“AH!!!!”
You all look over at Ryutaro.
“Shintaro! We’re supposed to pick him up in 15 minutes!”
“Aw crud… Got to go guys, see you Sunday?” Chinen get up to leave with him.
“Wait, why does Shintaro need to be picked up?”
“…Long story… bai bai” Ryutaro waves and starts running for the station.
“Jaa!” Chinen fallows him.
Yuma laughs, “Those two really wear me out sometimes… Hey, don’t you want to go back to your host for dinner?”
“Huh? Is it that time already?”
“Yeah… or it will be by the time we get back, do you want to go?”
“I guess so,” you shrug and get up.
On the way back, you ask him a lot of questions about the concert, like if it’s really okay that you don’t have a ticket, and how many songs he’s doing.
Turns out that him and Taiga get to do an extra song, the theme to the drama special. It’s a song called ‘The One I Couldn’t See.
You badger him to sing a little, because you want to hear a little, so he does:

“It’s…sad.”
“Yeah, it gets…a little better. That’s just the chorus. This is my stop, where do you get off?”
“Huh? Ah! This is mine too!”
“Eh? Close! So, I guess I can walk you then!”
“You don’t have to! I can get home… I think…”
“Hahaha. I think I should come. What’s the address?”
You tell him and you’re on your way. He holds your hand. Not in a amourous way, but more protective.
When you get to the street he asks you which one it is.
“The one at the end,” you say and start walking towards it, but he doesn’t move, so are stopped by his now tight hold.
“I- I… umm…”
“What?”
He walks pulls you close, and leans in, then stops abruptly, and pulls back, very red, “sorry…”
Then you stand on your tip toes, and kiss him lightly on the cheek, “You’ll get it, don’t worry. Well, bye!”
You run inside, not wanting to see his reaction, or for him to see that you’re blushing as much as he was.
