“Sure Taiga, I’d love to go!” you smile widely, gather your stuff, and fallow him out. Only pausing to look over your shoulder once to give an apologetic look to Yuma. But he’s not looking.

Taiga is very excited, he keeps telling you how much fun it’s going to be and how much his friends are going to like you. When you ask who his friends are he says it’s Morimoto Shintaro, Noeru Kawashima, Noriyuki Kanda, and a girl called Anami Miyuu.

Then he goes on to brag about how good Shintaro is at bowling. Then he warns you about Miyuu, “You should really avoid her, I don’t know what her problem is, but she isn’t very nice…”

“Will do. Is that it?” you say, pointing to a sign with a bowling ball on it at the end of the block.

“Yup! Come on, we’ve got to hurry, everyone else was let out before us, they’ll be waiting.” He says and takes off running.

He sure has a lot of energy… You run after him.

When you reach the door you’re out of breath, and you stagger in. You hadn’t realized how tired you were until you’d tried to run!

Taiga is already at the lane, across the room. He’s talking to the group of kids. Immediately, you spot Shintaro right away. He looks a lot like Ryutaro…

You return to Taiga’s side and he says, “Here she is! It’s Samantha!”

Shintaro frowns, “Sammaumcha?”

You laugh, “My name is June actually. Wirrimusu June.”

“Wirrimusu-anee. Nice to meet you! That’s a lot easier to say!”

Anee? I’m older I guess but big sister?

Taiga continues to introduce you to Noeru and Noriyuki. He just points Miyuu out, not wanting to get to close. You wonder if anything happened between them, because Taiga is usually so friendly and positive.

You go over and introduce yourself, saying “Hey! I’m Wirrimusu June. And you must be Anami-chan, ne?”

She scowls and says, “Anami-CHAN? Who said you could call me that? I may be younger, but I’m still important! I’m not insignificant! You can’t look down on me!”

“I- I just meant…because you’re younger—“

“Yeah, well you thought wrong! And what do you mean I must be Anami? WHAT DID HE TELL YOU?”

“Nothing! I-“ What’s her problem?

“Hey! Anami-chan!” Shintaro calls her. So HE can call her that…

“Ryu! What’s up?” Ryu? He didn’t use a nickname. Are they close or not?

“We’re starting, and it’s ladies first, ne? So you go.”

“Aww… You don’t have to… well okay.” She giggles and skips over. Leaving you in complete shock.

You soon shake it off, and are able to bowl. At the end, you are in dead last, with only 23 points. You sigh and look at all the other’s scores, they’re all at least 60. And Taiga was right about Shintaro! He ended with 248!

Miyuu is laughing at you saying, “Wirrimusu is horrible!

Shintaro walks over to you, “Um, no offence Wirrimusu-Anee, but you aren’t doing to hot… Need any pointers?”

“Hehe, yes please.”

“Okay. So first of all, you were using a really light ball, the same size as Anami-chan. That weight is good for her, but you are a lot bigger and stronger, so you should use your strength with a heavier one,” He points so a bright blue ball on the rack behind you, and you pick it up.

“Feel okay?”

You nod.

“Good. Now you’re kind of flinging the ball sideways. That’s why you’re getting all those gutter balls. You want to swing it strait back, and throw it forwards, but not up. That’s another thing, you’ve been letting go to late, so it smashes into the floor a little. Do it like this,” He does a fake swing and you try to copy it.

You guess you failed, because he’s frowning when you finish, saying “No no no. Now you’re twisting your wrist weird…”

Then he comes up behind you and grabs your arm. He shows you how to swing, you do it four times, and then you have it down. Like how they do in the movies, with the guy guiding the girl to flirt. This would have freaked you out, except he’s so much younger then you.

You thank him, and jump as Taiga drapes himself over your shoulders saying, “Juuuunneeee! I’m thiiiiiirsttyyyy!!! Will you get me a drink? Ooooneeegaaaiii?”

You sigh and say sure. You already owe him for paying for you to be in the lane. So you shout “Anyone else want a soda?”

Noeru wants a cola, Shintaro wants a Root beer, and Miyuu just wants water.

Taiga smiles and says “Arigatou June! I’ll have a lemonade!”

You go to the ordering place and told the guy what you want by the time that you notice Miyuu behind you.

“Hey Anami-san. What’re you doing here?”

“Well I told them that I’d help carry the drinks…”

“Aw! Thanks, that’s so ni—“

“BUT, what I really came to warn you. Shintaro is mine, got it? So don’t let me catch you flirting with him again. Or you’ll regret it. I’m his best friend, biggest fan, and soon to be his girlfriend too. So back off.”

“Um, okay. Obsessive much?”

“Not obsessive, devoted.” She sneers and grabs her water and his root beer.

So this is what Taiga meant. He must’ve gotten ‘too close’ too… But he’s a guy! What the heck?

You play another round, and at first you’re doing much better then you were before. But then Shintaro starts cheering for you, and Miyuu starts glaring. You don’t want to invite any rage, so you start playing worse, and try to ignore Taiga and Shintaro’s disappointment.

You still manage to over double your previous score, and actually beat Noriyuki!

Drinks are finished, chatter is made, and people soon start leaving. Noeru and Noriyuki do at least. Taiga whispers to you that he wants to talk to Shintaro about Miyuu, so you have to stay. Miyuu isn’t leaving Shintaro alone with you, and he isn’t leaving until Ryutaro comes to get him.

When you hear that Ryutaro is coming, you’re surprised to find that you’re not that excited. After meeting so many Johnny’s, the glamour has faded. So you just wait patiently.

It’s kind of awkward, what with Miyuu trying and failing miserably to start a conversation with Shintaro. You can feel Taiga tense next to you; he doesn’t deal with her very well.

After what seems like forever, the doors finally open, and Ryutaro runs in. With Chinen right behind him.

“S- sorry we’re late! We went to Shibuya and kind of forgot that we were supposed to pick you up,” he staggers over to Shintaro, and uses his shoulder to prop himself up.

When he catches his breath, and Chinen comes over too, he looks up and starts staring at you.

Chinen hits him and says, “I know Anami-chan and Kyomoto-kun, but who are you?”

“This is Wirrimusu June! She’s in the drama with me and Nakayama-kun!”

“Oh! So you finally found Samantha! Hajimimashite! I’m Chinen Yuri. And this is Morimoto Ryutaro.”

“I know…”

Ryutaro finally checks back in and asks, “What are you doing with my stupid brother’s friends? Aren’t you a bit old for them?”

“Taiga invited me or course. And I may be older then them, but we still bad fun, ne?” You smile at Shintaro.

He smiles back, “Un!”

Miyuu rolls her eyes and says, “I have to go now. Bai bai Shintaro <3 !”

You can almost hear the heart in those words; it makes you want to gag.

“Jaa… then I’ll go too. I’m being picked up back at the studio. Chinen-kun, can you take June home for me? I don’t have time.”

“EH? I don’t need to be taken! I can get there myself!”

Taiga looked at you seriously, “Really?”

“….no…” you confess.

I probably could, but it would take me five times longer then if someone helps me. I took a weird route here…

“Exactly. Now, go with Chinen-kun.”

You sigh and ask, “Is that really okay Chinen-san? Will you take me?”

“Sure! Where do you live?”

“It’s in Ueno…”

*anime sweat drop*

“I have the address… It’s in my wallet.” You start to say, then you remember to thank Taiga. But he’s not there.

Shintaro notices you looking around, and tells you he left.

“We should too, to catch the train to Ueno,” Ryutaro adds.

“You’re coming too Ryutaro?”

“Yeah, Chinen is coming with me actually, he’s sleeping over tonight.”

“Sou ka….”

You walk out of the bowling ally, and Chinen points out the station you’re going to for future reference on your map. And you show him where the house is.

“So you’re staying with a Japanese family. That must be cool. The whole summer?” Chinen says.

“Yup.”

“Is this your first time here?” Shintaro asks.

“No, I’ve been here a few times before. But not for as long, and always with family or friends. So I ended up sightseeing and as a translator most of the time…”

“Aw. So are you having fun so far? What’ve you done?” Chinen asks.

“Yeah tons! Actually, this is my first day--“

“What?!? How are you not collapsing right now?” Ryutaro suddenly looks really concerned.

“Oh, no worries. I took extra precautions before I came. Although tonight will still be an early night for me.”

Chinen and Shintaro look at you like ‘wow’, and Ryutaro looks like he’s thinking ‘scary…’

You get on the train, and on the way Shintaro asks you lots of questions about America. Although most of them are weird, like ‘do you really eat squirrel there?’ and ‘is it true that there is orange grass in South Dakota?’. Apparently Ryutaro has been telling him strange stories.

On the from the train to the house, Chinen makes a point of pointing out all of the big landmarks along the way. Turns out that there is a huge park not too far away, and a big statue of a turtle to point you in the right direction. With their help, you get there within minutes.

You point, “That’s it!”

“Good, so you think you know the way now?”

“Yup! Thanks a lot for walking me!”

Shintaro piped up, “No problem Wirrimusu-Anee! I’ll walk with you anytime! You have to tell me more about America!”

“Oh no you don’t, you need to be walked home yourself. And I don’t want you to be told any more lies about foreign countries ototou,” Ryutaro grins and winks at you.

You giggle, say goodbye, and walk into the house.

Continue to part D8.
