You Know Everything But My Love {Edward Elric} Chapter Five

After Ed and Dani got back and dried, the sun had already started to go down. Danielle leaned against the frame of the window above the couch, watching the sun set. Alphonse was seated on the bed with Dawn in his lap, purring as he pet her and glancing from Edward to Dani. She sensed something... Different. But, despite her knowledge of the situation, she didn't cause much of a fuss like she usually would when she knew something was going on in Danielle's head.. Instead she kept silent and enjoyed all the attention she had been getting from Al. She seemed rather happy, and looked up at Alphonse, closing her eyes with a slight 'smile' of sorts on her face. As if to say "Keep it up. Unlike your brother, I actually really like you." As the sky began turning dark and the colors of red, orange, yellow, pink, and purple, left the sky, Danielle got up from the window and walked across the couch and onto the floor. She went straight for the bathroom, and stayed there for about 10 minutes until Ed knocked on the door. "Dani? What's goin' on? You've been in there for over ten minutes." The door opened, but Danielle stayed inside. Ed stepped in after he was sure that was what she wanted.

She had taken her jacket off, and there were various tools spread out across the counter. He wandered as to their purpose, but that question was easily answered when he saw her left arm.. It was automail! Just like his right arm and left leg were.... "Dani, how did-? When did-?" He could barely speak past all his surprise. She interrupted his babbling, "It's not a big deal, okay? It happened a couple years back. Let's just say I wasn't paying enough attention to my opponents." Ed just nodded lightly, shaking his head to break out of his stance. "So, how come I didn't see it earlier?" "Fake skin coating. Cool, huh? Since I've got so many elements to use, I was able to practically seal it to my real skin until I'd need to remove it to get a good look at it or whatever... Pinako had been working with some really special stuff, and decided to try it out on me. Worked out really well, don't you think so?" "How come she never offered me anything like that?" "Because, everyone already knows you've got an automail arm. I wouldn't want to steal any of your thunder, now would I?"

She laughed lightly and picked up a small screwdriver, "Now, could you at least attempt to fix this? Something's off about it. But I can't figure out what." He nodded and looked around at her arm, lifting it here and there to see the movement. "I think you might have some nerves loose or something.. It's not moving as efficiently as it should be." She sighed and shook her head, pulling her skin from the side of the tub. Ed shivered at it, thinking that maybe he didn't want one of those things now.. It kinda creeped him out. "I was afraid they'd come loose.. I'm gonna have to call Winry or something to come fix this." "Huh? I mean, why make her come here?" Dani looked to him as she slipped the skin over her arm and hand, raising her brow. He scratched the back of his head and grimaced, "Well, we kind of might have to go there anyway..." She was about to seal her arm back when she paused and turned to him, fire in her eyes, "What do you mean?" "Well, um, I kind of heard a few more rumors and stuff... And a lot of people believe that this guy that's threatening everyone here has moved to Risembool for some reason or another.

"Dani, it's our mission. We have to go." She shook her head and sealed her arm, "You know I'm not going back there, Ed.. It's too much. At least for now it is." She sat on the counter and looked down, her hair falling in front of her face to cover her glazed eyes. "C'mon. Me and Al'll be right there with you. You're not alone anymore, you know..." He stepped in front of her and took her hand, pushing back part of her hair. She looked up at him, her eyes now filled with tears, "I-I don't know.." Her voice started to crack as she thought back to her mother. Ed pulled her into his arms, holding onto her as if the world were about to fall to pieces. "Don't cry, Dani. You know it's not your fault.. You should visit her when we go to Risembool.. If we do... I know she's already forgiven you. Maybe if you go back, you can forgive yourself." She dug her face into his chest, grasping tightly onto his shirt and sniffing. Ed hated to see her like this. He didn't like to see her face so sad. To see her angry with herself when she had no reason to be. She deserved to be happy, not sitting here crying on him. She deserved a lot better. And he wanted to do all he could to get her everything she deserved..

After a few minutes of Ed rubbing her back and doing all he could to calm her, Danielle looked up at him with her blood-shot eyes, still holding onto his shirt. "E-Ed?" "Yeah, Dani?" His voice was full of concern and worry, and even sadness.. "D-Do you for-forgive me?" He stared deeply into her eyes and nodded. "I never blamed you for anything that happened.. You're my best friend, Danielle. I forgave you right away, without another thought about it." She smiled lightly and wrapped her arms around his neck, hugging him tightly. He grinned and hugged her back. "Feeling better?" He asked as they broke apart. She nodded and he pulled a tissue from the box on the counter, handing it to her. She wiped her nose and her eyes, hopping off the counter with his help and splashing some cold water over her face. She turned to him after toweling off the water, and hugged him once more. "Promise you won't leave me for anything, Ed." He held her gently and nodded, still in the embrace, "Never..." They moved back from each other and blushed some. "I mean, you know, in Risembool and stuff.." He scratched his neck and held out his hand. She took it and grabbed her jacket as he lead her out and back into the room.

Danielle put her jacket on a stool at the bar to the kitchen and moved to the closet near the bed. She pulled out a pillow and a cover, throwing them onto the couch. "I'll take the sofa, you boys take the bed.. Go ahead and get dressed for bed, and meet me downstairs. I have a feeling I'm gonna need a lot of comfort food before we leave for Risembool tomorrow." Alphonse turned his head to the side, looking from Danielle to Edward. "We're going to Risembool?" Ed nodded, "Uh, yeah.. I heard some more stuff while we were out and it fit with a lot of things you and I heard. Apparently the guy that's been such a big threat has moved himself and all his followers back west, towards Risembool. We'll have to go there to check things out and make sure the area is really safe." "Wow. I miss a lot when I'm asleep.." "Then maybe you shouldn't miss so much, eh, Al?" Dani threw a pillow at his head and watching his eye twitch at the ambush. She and Ed laughed as Al tried to fix his now apocalypsed head of hair(think Twisted Sister, pulled back into a hair bow :p If you dunno who they are, God be with you >-< If not them, then just Dee Snider in specific, from way back then. He's the lead singer.. They sing "We're Not Gonna Take It" )

After fixing Al's hair for him, Dani went downstairs and left the boys to get ready. She sat at one of the tables in a room next to the lobby. There was another set of stairs, the ones she had just come from, and a few tables here and there, chairs surrounding all of them. There were long counters along each side, covered in different items, including a bit of food for the late-night snackers such as herself. Jack was cleaning the counters and pushing chairs back in when Danielle walked up to him. "Hey, Danielle.. I should've guessed you'd be back down here again for some late dinner. Didn't see you and your friends get anything earlier on... Come to think of it, I only found one of your friends in your room. He and Dawn looked very happy together." He grinned and put his rag down, wiping his hands on his apron, which was wrapped just around his waist this time. "So, where were you and the other one? Edward, isn't it?" He smiled more and lifted his head. Danielle glared at him and sat on the counter next to her. "Yes.. And we were just out talking, walking around town and stuff." "Oh, really?" He raised his brow, continuing to grin. "Yes, Jack. Really really."

"Hm..." He picked up his rag and started wiping the countertop again. "What was that for?" "What?" "That 'hm' of yours. C'mon, I know you all too well.. What was it for?" "If you know me as well as you say, then you tell me." She sat silently for a moment and glared at him, "You don't believe me, do you?" He shrugged, "Well, I was out in town all day, gathering things for Rob and doing my own shopping... I'm sure I would've seen you. But, you know, whatever..." She sighed and crossed her arms, "Okay, okay, so we weren't walking around in town.. We just... Went somewhere else, that's all." "Some place that's secret, that you haven't told me about yet?" His eyes grew large and he stuck out his bottom lip, causing it to quiver, in a joking manner. She had a feeling this wasn't going to end well. Either that, or that it wouldn't end at all. "Yes. MY secret spot." "Uhuh... So if it's so secret, why'd you show him, hm? 'Cause he's special to you?" He grinned and 'awwed' at her before she punched him in the arm. She opened her mouth to speak, but was interrupted by Ed and Al stepping up.

"Uh. How long were you guys there?" Danielle's eyes grew a little big and she coughed some. "Just a few seconds." Ed lied, elbowing Al in the ribs before he said anything. "So, uh, now that Jack is disabled, are we gonna do something?" He asked, looking to Jack. Dani nodded, smiling lightly, "Yup.. We've got food, radio, access to the whole place, and Al and Jack at our comedic dispense." "Hey!" Al and Jack exclaimed at the same time, holding their new wounds. Danielle and Ed laughed some and gathered up some food, pigging out right away. Al and Jack were afraid to even attempt to grab something, in fear of losing their hands. They laughed and Jack whispered to Al, "They're practically perfect for each other, don't you think? Heh.. Stubborn, easily angered, pigs.." Alphonse laughed and nodded, "Yeah, now all you've gotta do is make Danielle short, and they're completely perfect!" Ed and Dani glared at them from across the room and threw muffins and biscuits at their heads, laughing. After half an hour, Jack got up and pat Danielle on the head as she and Ed had a staring contest. He waved, speaking as he walked up the stairs, "See you guys tomorrow sometime, I assume? Unless you skip out before saying goodbye again, that is, Dani."

Dani turned to him and nodded, "I might. If I don't say goodbye, then it's your fault for not catching me in time!" "AHA!" Ed yelled, jumping up and pointing at Danielle, "I beat you! I finally beat you!" He jumped around, dancing and making up little songs like 'I beat Dani, I beat Dani, I beat her sorry fanny!' and other crappy things like that xp "Hey! The only way you can beat me is by cheating! That was cheap, Ed! And you know it!" "So, who cares? It doesn't matter, so long as I beat you! Who cares what it took for me to beat you.. The fact of the matter is: I did! Ha!" "Oh, you'll be severely punished, Ed. Don't plan on sleeping for a very long time, Mr. Elric!" "What? Are you gonna punish me?" He stared her down, a hint of... Lust.. In his eyes and voice. She flushed some and nodded, "Y-Yes. Yes I am." He sat on a table and just stared at her with those piercing golden-brown eyes... Alphonse coughed and Danielle fell from Ed's gaze. "You're doing that just to get to me, aren't you?" She glared at Ed, who gave a large grin, "You'll never know.." They sat silently for a few moments before the two of them broke out into laughter.

An anime sweatdrop fell down Al's face. He never understood those two together for some reason. They were the weirdest people to see together. So different, and yet, so alike. They just enjoyed each other's company and care. They didn't care about anyone else's opinion of them, just each others'. They were great friends, the best of friends. And they wouldn't let anyone or anything take that. He found it very great that his brother found someone else he could connect with. Someone he could talk with about things that he couldn't talk with Al about. Someone he could run to and talk to about all the crazy things he and Al had done, or some kind of a secret that he wouldn't even tell Al himself. But he still wanted to hit Ed.. Edward knew that he knew how much he likes Danielle. How much he'd always liked her. Even though he'd never told Alphonse, but they both knew he knew. And it wasn't really something he liked to talk about.. Especially right now. He didn't want anything to get in the way of the mission, which at least should've been his main priority.

Girls never really liked him. But Danielle was so much different than other girls. She got out and ran around and jumped in mud puddles and played sports with all the guys. Even when compared to Winry, she was very much a tomboy. He didn't realize why he liked her so much. He knew that she'd definitely grown up quite a bit.. So there was physical attraction right there. But he found some kind of deep connection with her. One that was so different from his connection with Winry or any other girl. He got off of the table and held his hand out to Danielle, "M'lady?" He joked, bowing low. She giggled and attempted a curtsy, which just ended up looking like she was trying to sit indian-style or tripping or something. They laughed and she took his hand. Ed held out his other hand towards Al, "M'other lady?" They laughed and Alphonse glared at them. His lips poofed out like Ed's, but his face didn't go nearly as red. More like pink. He stomped up the stairs and Ed and Dani followed, continuing to laugh. They reached the room and Al went to the bathroom to brush his teeth.

Danielle and Ed looked down at the ground, then turned their heads to the side quickly, noticing they were still holding hands. They jerked their hands back away and blushed like mad. Ed cleared his throat and sat on the bed. Danielle jumped up behind him, nearly scaring him half to death. She laughed and crossed her legs, pulling a hair band off of her wrist. "Hold still." "What are you doing? Are you gonna put something in my hair?" She giggled and shook her head, "No, Ed. I'm just fixing it." She pulled his hair into three different strands and began braiding them tightly together. She tied the end and fixed the leftover pieces of hair down by his face neatly. She smiled and got up, "There. All that work on that horse's mane really helped out, eh? Wasn't much different." Ed glared at her and they burst out laughing again. Alphonse walked up behind Danielle and tapped her on the shoulder. They turned to him and smiled innocently. Dani jogged over to the bathroom as Ed threw a pillow, and it hid Al directly in the face. "Al, your face is a magnet! Be glad it's not for solid objects, and just pillows!" Danielle exclaimed before she shut the door, laughing.

Edward and Alphonse jerked themselves up to find that Danielle had jumped on them. She turned around and folded her arms behind her head, laying down in between the two. "So, I take it you two slept all right?" Alphonse scratched his head and rubbed his eyes while Ed curled up under the covers again. "Edward, darling, you'll have to get up or you'll miss the great day we're going to have!" Danielle exclaimed, being over-dramatic and pulling the covers away from him. He reached out, trying to get them back, but Dani threw them to the other end of the room. He sat up and glared at her, and if he wasn't so tired, he probably would've jumped her. "C'mon, Ed, put some clothes on. Your half-nakedness is going to burn mine and Al's eyes out!" Danielle shielded her eyes with her arm and threw one of his shirts at his head. "You really need to get yourself some pajamas!" Ed pulled the shirt over his head and grabbed his pants from the dresser next to him. "What? And your ensemble is any better than mine?" Danielle looked at herself and shrugged, "What's wrong with a tank top and shorts?" Ed pulled his pants on and walked over to her, "Well, for one thing, your top is really tight. And you know what it looks like on you with the sudden curves you managed to sprout."

Danielle blushed lightly and scratched at the back of her neck, "I think it looks fine.." "And your shorts are so... Short! Whatever happened to night PANTS?" "That's for winter. And even during winter I tend to wear shorts." "Well, I don't know anyone that wants to see that much of your legs." She glared at him and rolled her eyes, pushing him over to the couch. "Are you gonna kill me? I didn't mean it, I swear. You have great legs and curves!" His eyes grew and he begged and pleaded with her not to hurt him. She blushed and laughed at him, "I'm not gonna kill you, Ed." He sat down and his cheeks flushed. Okay, maybe that was a little too over-dramatic. Now he was really embarrassed. She undid his hair and brushed it out, fixing his little twig in the front, "You should really wear your hair down more often. Maybe girls will like you a little better." She joked and handed him his hairband. "Hurry up and get ready. We need to leave in an hour. And we'll need to get some stuff in town and catch the train on time." She said as she got up and pulled Al up, pushing him towards the bathroom. "Hurry, hurry, little lovelies."

After eating breakfast and telling Rob and Jack goodbye, the trio ran around in town for anything extra they might need. At the station, Edward called Pinako and Winry and let them know that they were coming. They crammed into the train for the two-hour ride over to Risembool. Alphonse and Danielle played cards for the first hour and a half, then Dani moved to the cabin where they were storing their stuff while Ed had walked off for a snack. Alphonse didn't bother Danielle as to why she wanted to be alone, he already knew.. Ed stopped in between the two cabins, looking to Danielle, who was staring out the window silently. "Hey, Al, what's wrong with Dani?" He already knew, but he wasn't sure whether to go talk to her or not. "I think she's having second thoughts about going back to Risembool, brother. It's been seven years, you know. And it's still hard for us to go back too. She hasn't been back once since... Well, you know." He nodded, "All right, well, I think I'll go talk to her. She's gonna have to face Risembool now, whether she wants to or not."

Danielle continued to stare out the window at the passing trees and a small river as Ed walked in and sat down next to her. "Dani?" She turned to face the opposite end of the cabin, keeping her gaze to the floor. "I'm right here, Dani. I promised you I wouldn't leave you. And I won't. Trust me, okay?" He took her hand and she leaned her head to lean on his shoulder. "It's not you I have a problem with trusting.." Her voice was hoarse, so it was obvious she had been crying again. "Dani, you have no reason not to trust yourself.. That bastard who took over you is gone now. He's the one you couldn't trust. Now that he's gone, he can't take over you anymore..." She sighed and shook her head, "I still listened to him. If I hadn't started working for him, I would still have my mom here." "You worked for him because you were trying to help your mom. You didn't mean for anything bad to happen. He took advantage of you, you couldn't do anything about it." She laughed lightly and sighed, "I've always hated being the damsel in distress.. Not being able to save myself or anyone else... No longer having control over things.. Being weak." "You're the strongest person I know, Dani. Not just physically, either. You've shown so much courage ever since I met you. You're not afraid to be yourself. And you have never been, and never will be, weak."

Danielle looked up at him and smiled, "Where's the stupid comment?" He glared at her and grinned, "Now if only you could be prettier... How's that?" She punched him in the arm and rolled her eyes. "I was kidding!" He sniffed and rubbed his arm, "I think you're very pretty.." "And you're not just saying that because I could easily permanently injure and/or kill you?" She raised her brow. He shook his head, "Nope." "You swear it?" He nodded, "Yup..." She smiled lightly and kissed his cheek. He winced, thinking she was going to hurt him again. But she didn't, to his surprise. His face grew extremely red and he smirked, blinking a few times to make sure what just happened was real. Danielle's face was flushed, but Al broke the awkward, blushy silence by knocking on the door and opening it quickly. "We're almost there. Hurry up, get your stuff!" His excitement amazed Danielle. She shook her head and grabbed her bag, leaning on the door frame as Al sat down across from Ed, "Brother? Why are you blushing?" He waved his hand in front of Edward's face and turned his head to the side. "Huh? Oh, uh, no reason." Ed smiled fakely and put his bag on his shoulder.

Danielle looked back at his red face and smiled, shaking her head. The train stopped and Alphonse jerked both of them down the road from the station, heading for the Rockbell home. Ed and Dani fell to ground when they reached the porch.Al knocked furiously on the door and it flew open, followed by Winry, who tackled Al. He managed to stay up, but only because he used almost as much force as she did. They hugged for a minute before a wrench came flying out at Ed's head. "Hey!" "You didn't visit when you said you would!" "Winry, things came up and we couldn't-" "Save it, Edward. Lucky for you, we're still going to feed you. You can eat until you puke!" She laughed maniacally and Ed gulped, his eye twitching. "You know, I actually really missed that humor of yours, Win." Winry stopped laughing and turned to the voice, which came from Danielle. Her eyes widened and she jumped on Dani, knocking her back to the ground in a rather binding(more like crushing) hug. "Dan! I haven't seen you in so long! Grandma is gonna be even more psyched to see you than me!"

Danielle coughed, managing to get out, "How nice.." Winry got off her and held her arm out, helping Danielle to her feet. She pulled the three into the house and they all greeted Pinako. "So, what fun stuff have you got planned for us this time, Pinako?" Ed asked, sitting down next to Dani, across from Pinako. Alphonse was sitting on Danielle's left, on the very end of the table. And Winry was seated next to Pinako, across from Ed. "Well, first thing's first, Edward. We'll need to catch up with Danielle here, and then do a bit of work.. I do believe that Winry is wanting to take you all to a certain little spot near the edge of town later on.. How long will you all be visiting?" Pinako smiled sweetly as she answered to Ed. Edward looked to Dani, who shrugged, "Depends on what all we find out while we're here.. We're on a mission. And the guy we're after reportedly came here. Or at least came through here, anyway." "So you guys only visited because you're on a mission?" Winry sniffed and covered her eyes. "Well, Ed and Al would've come whether we were on a mission or not. They've just been with me for awhile and it took some persuading to get me to come back for a little while.." She looked to Ed, who took her hand under the table, smiling lightly at her.

Pinako grinned, nodding, "Very well, Danielle.. I suppose you'll be wanting to get to work. Just be sure to make time for us in your busy schedule." "Oh, I'll give both of you plenty of time, I promise.. I've missed you." Danielle smiled and Winry raised her brow. Something was different. Besides the return of Danielle and how much she'd changed and everything. She couldn't quite peg it, though. She shrugged it off and rushed the others to get settled. She dragged them down the streets of Risembool, where Dani kept her eyes to the ground. They didn't have to go this way when they'd entered the town... This was the way that led to her house. Ed stood close to her and held her hand, "If you have to, start running. Just give me a heads-up so I won't end up face-first in the dirt." He whispered. She smiled lightly and laughed a little, nodding, "Sure thing, Ed. But I think I'll be fine for now..." She kissed his cheek while Winry and Al were still ahead, chatting it up. Ed and Dani smiled and blushed, continuing behind the other two until they reached a small lake. "Okay, I've got bathing suits for me and Dani, and the guys can go with boxers! But as a warning, NO SKINNY-DIPPING! And I mean YOU, Ed!" Winry yelled, throwing her bag on a large, hollow tree trunk near the water.

Everyone but Ed laughed, and Winry jerked Danielle behind the trees to change. By the time they got back, Ed and Al were already in the water, wrestling. "Hey! No fighting until we get in! Battle of the sexes!" Winry exclaimed as she and Dani walked over to the water's edge. Edward and Alphonse stopped and looked at the two, their eyes growing a few sizes. Ed figured that Dani looked better in a bikini than anything else. How could she be so feminine when she wasn't? And so... Attractive, when she didn't even try? The dark red and black-striped two-piece fit her rather perfectly. If Ed didn't know her as well as he did, it might not have been so funny to look at. The humor of the situation didn't outdo the attraction, though. Winry and Danielle jumped into the water and started wrestling with the other two, beating them out a lot faster than they thought. "You guys really need to bulk up some more! You couldn't beat a rock!" Winry said as she pulled herself up onto a rock in the water. "Aw. Your abs are all show, Ed. And I was hoping for more of a challenge." Danielle added, grinning and sitting next to Winry. "Hey! You took a bunch of cheap shots!" "Uhuh, sure we did, Ed. Keep telling yourself that.." Danielle undid her hair and leaned back on the rock.

"I'll show you..." Ed mumbled, ducking under the water and swimming over to Danielle. He grabbed both her ankles and jerked her under. She held her breath and glared up at him as he pushed her to the bottom. They both froze and she moved her head closer to his, moving her hands to his shoulders. He hadn't noticed, but he was holding her waist when he was holding her down. Her lips were an inch from his when she pushed him back and swam to the surface. He came up next to her and she smiled victoriously at him. Ed moved closer to her, keeping a straight face, and staring into her eyes. He backed her up to a crowd of rocks, where no one could see them. He placed his hands on either side of her waist, pinning her to the rocks. She held her breath, pushing her head back against the rocks. Ed moved his face closer to hers, allowing his lips to lightly touch hers, until the anticipation caused her to push her head forward. Time seemed to stand still for a few minutes and Ed pressed his body to hers, running his tongue across her lips, begging for entrance. She smiled and shook her head lightly, laying her arms over his shoulders. He forced his hips into hers, causing her gasp and even groan a bit, which allowed him to push his tongue into her mouth. Their tongues meshed together, as if they fit with each other perfectly.

He pulled his tongue back into his mouth and moved his head back from hers. They stared at each other for a few more minutes, their bodies frozen in place once more. Everything about this seemed right.. They blushed some and Danielle kissed him lightly on the lips before moving her arms off of his shoulders and back into the water. He wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her closer to him. She leaned her head on his chest and they smiled. "Hey! Where'd you two go?!" Winry yelled, walking around the lake in an attempt to find them. They looked in the direction her voice had come from and managed to unglue themselves from each other just before she stepped onto the rocks and saw them floating there. "C'mon! It's about time we head back and get some lunch!" They just nodded, continuing to look at each other. She threw a small rock in between them, which caught their attention once more. "Ed, I've never known you to ignore a reference to food... What are you two doing over here anyway?" "Nothing. We were just uh.. Talking." Ed said as he scratched the back of his neck. "Uhuh.... Well, hurry it up! Me and Dani have food to make!" "But, Winry, I can't cook-" "Nonsense! We'll teach ya! Besides, it's a woman's intuition to know how to cook!" Danielle shook her head and swam back to the shore with Ed.

After about an hour of burning things and cooking lessons with Winry, Danielle plopped down in the chair next to Ed. "I'm exhausted.. It's no wander I never cook! It's so frustrating! Especially when Sergeant Winry is with you!" "I heard that!" Winry called from the kitchen before walking in with a few bowls and plates with food on them. Pinako sat down and looked to Ed and Danielle, who were looking down at the table and blushing lightly. No one else noticed but her, oddly enough. She smiled at them and then looked to Winry, "Thank you for making lunch, dear. And thank you for helping, Danielle." Dani smiled and nodded, even though the kitchen was literally hell for her. And Winry was the devil.. After they finished lunch, Winry took Danielle into her room and got her tools out. "So, does anyone else know about your automail yet?" Danielle sat on the chair next to her desk and took her jacket off, removing the false skin from her left arm. "Well, Ed knows about my arm, yeah." "And Alphonse?" She asked, leaning over Danielle's arm and looking around at the details. Dani shook her head, "No, not that I know of anyway. I kind of had to have Ed look at it, since he's had an automail arm longer than I have. And plenty of problems with it, I'm sure."

Winry laughed some and nodded, "Yeah, he's been here quite a few times for his automail.. Uh oh." Danielle turned her head to Winry and raised her brow, "Uh oh?" Winry sighed, "It looks like we're gonna have to replace your whole arm. The nerves have come loose, and some have already snapped.. I might be able to fix this one enough for the nerves to reconnect the right way. But it'll still take awhile." "How long?" "I'd say... Four or five days at the least." Danielle shook her head and looked at the floor. After a minute or two, she looked back up at Winry, "All right. I'll let them know how long we'll be staying, I guess. Thanks, Win." She nodded and smiled before hugging Danielle, "Sorry I can't get it done faster." "It's fine. So long as it gets done, I don't really care how long it takes. Besides, I think I can handle a few more days here.. It means I get to spend more time with you and Pinako." Dani smiled back and pulled the skin back over her arm, sealing it. "Hey, guys, it looks like we'll be spending four or five days here. At least we can get plenty of work done in that time, right?" Edward and Alphonse nodded. "And we'll get to spend more time with the others." Alphonse grinned. He still amazed Danielle sometimes. He really knew how to look on the bright side of things, eh?

Ed pulled Dani into the next room and shut the door. "You sure you can handle being here for that long?" She nodded and smiled lightly, although Ed could still see the doubt in her eyes, "I should be able to, yeah.." Ed wrapped his arms around her and she immediately moved her arms around his neck. They hugged for a minute and pulled away as Ed spoke, "I'm here for you, okay? I won't leave you alone for a second.." He stared into her eyes and she smiled, kissing him on the cheek. "Thank you, Ed..." He shook his head and pushed some of Danielle's hair behind her ear. "No, thank you, Dani..." They blushed and he pushed his lips to hers, keeping them there for another minute. When he pulled away, his face was going twenty different shades of red. Danielle laughed some at him and kissed his other cheek, grabbing his hand. He lifted it and gave her hand a peck, smiling back at her.
