"When I was young, Takeru and Ishida ran me out of my only home. When I tried to get away, Takeru summoned demons to kill me. I was so young, I couldn't defend for myself. And Yukito wasn't anywhere near when this happened. When I was about to die of bloodloss, a black dragon came out of no where and killed the thousands upon thousands of demons. My vision became blurry and I couldn't see anything. Last thing I saw before passing out was the dragon killing Takeru. Then later, I woke up in a hut, bandaged and healed. A pouch of mixed healing herbs was next to a sword. So as you can see, I still have both of the items that were left behind for me...," You explained.
"I see. Do you remember where the dragon came from?" Koenma asked.
"I...I'm not sure," I lied looking away from him.
"I see...Botan gave you your herbs, right?" Koenma began searching for something in the back of his filing cabinets.
"Yes," You answered. Koenma pulled something out from the back of the last file cabinet.
"Here. Wrap the white one around your left hand. Fold the red one into your right pocket. I don't know how much help these will serve, but they should be good for a while," Koenma handed you two long and thin scarves. You wrapped your left hand as well as tucking the other one in your right pocket.
"So what are these for anyway?" You questioned when you were done fiddling with the scarves.
"They are scarves that Yukito made. Just for you. The one on your hand keeps your aura power in check. The other one is a scarf that instantly heals you. As long as those magic symbols remain painted on there, they'll continue to work," Koenma began.
"Thank you," You bowed and walked towards the door; you stopped a few feet from the door.
"Hm...?" You sensed a presence. Koenma seemed confused. You opened the door and saw nothing, but when you saw the shadow of the door, you poked it. Nothing happened.
"I know you guys are there. You were eavesdropping, weren't you?" You accused, glaring menacingly at the door shadow. You turned around.
"By the time I count to five, all five of you people better be standing behind me. 1...2..."
Everyone stepped out of the shadows quietly and formed a straight line.
"3...4...5..." You turned around, "That took a while. What are the reasons for your actions of coming here and eavesdropping on my conversation with Koenma?"
"Why is she acting all high and mighty?!" Yusuke thought.
"She sems to be worse than Koenma..." Hiei thought back.
They just stood there, backs straight, hands in their pockets. Kurama and Hiei hid their weapons behind their backs, and Yusuke and Kuwabara, in their pockets. When they didn't answer, you began to speak again.
"Yuri put you up to this, didn't she," You said, sharp as ever. You had this emotionless look veil your face. However, your eyes gave off this look of regret and despair.
"Sorry!" Yuri came out from behind the guys and rubbed the back of her head as she faked a giggle.
"Why did you let them into Yukito's shop?" You shot a glare at everyone. Everyone stepped back slightly.
"For whatever reason you let them in there, I hope it's a good one. Come on. Let's go," You said blankly, walking on past the group.
"One more thing, Matoko," Koenma stopped you, still not understanding what just happened.
"Hm?" You acknowledged stopping, not turning around.
"Your mission will come at a later time. You have other important matters to attend to," Koenma said as he closed his office doors.
"What was that all about?" Yusuke was worried.
"Nothing of any importance to you," You snapped as everyone entered the portal you just created.
O.o What's gotten into Matoko?

~Back at the House~
"Welcome back, Matoko," Takuto said coming into the room where everyone exited the portal.
"Takuto?" You said in a very questionable and expecting tone. He had this shocked and stunned look, thinking of a way out.
"Uh...I...uh...it was Yuri! I...I," Takuto mumbled. You turned around, not wanting to talk to anyone.
"I'm sorry, Matoko..." Yuri tried to apologize. You ignored her instead.
"Why is Matoko like that?" Yusuke came up from behind Yuri.
"It's...happening again..." Yuri whispered, not giving Yusuke any eye contact.
"What?" Yusuke didn't hear what Yuri said, somewhat.
"Yuri, please give Hiei and the others the "proper" tour," You began to walk up the stairs to your room.
"Y-Yes..." Yuri said hesitantly as she bowed. You finally made your way to the hallway and typed in the special entry code on the little computer beside the doorknob. The door unlocked, pushing it's self open. Entering the room and closing the door, you realized the window was open. Walking over to the window, as you reached to close/lock it, a figure appeared in the room out of the corner of your eye. Staying in that position, you engaged conversation.
"Who are you?" You asked nearly inaudible.
"Turn around so I can have a proper conversation with my converser." The person said, you turned around.
"What is it that you want?"
"All I want is to carry out orders successfully, without interruptions."
"That's a foolish answer," You said, crossing your arms.
"Come, now. Why are you acting so..."
"If you came for an assassination job, you're out of luck. You're just being used by whoever ordered you to do this," You said harshly.
The person just smirked.
"With my guard down, why don't you just kill me now like you came to do so?" It seemed as if you were giving up completely, leaving yourself wide open.
"Pfft. Now that's no fun. You need to at least put up some kind of a fight," The person sounded like they were whining.
"Are you working for Ishida? Or Takeru?"
"Both, and by the way, my name is Kaitou Kaname," he smirked.
"I've heard of you many times in Demon World, Mr.Thief Kaname. Rumors had it you were third compared to my group," You smirked as well.
"Enough pointless talking. I came here to kill you," Kaname said, slowly approaching you.
"When have I not heard that before? Try to kill me, if you can. However, I suggest you apologize before you make me angry," You retorted, hand on your sword's hilt. Kaname blended with the darkness of the room. By now, Yusuke and his team are hiding in the tree outside the open window, watching you. Yuri was standing at the base of the tree, listening. You drew your sword as you searched the neverending darkness for signs of movement. Then, the second you saw Kaname, he had pinned you up against the wall, his sword to your neck.
"So this is the infamous Matoko, Enigma of Emotion. Faster than the speed of sound they say? I think not. So. What do you plan on doing now?" He pressed the blade so hard againt your neck, it nearly created a gash marking half-way around your neck.
"Hmph...Don't-make-me-kill-you," You glared at him, blood dripping from the corner of your mouth.
"Heh. Assassin against assassin. What are you going to do?" He repeated. As the moonlight began to slowly shift onto Kaname's body, creating a shadow, you shifted your foot.
"Heh. What good will that do you?" He said, narrowing his glare.
"This," You said, stomping 'softly' on his shadow. He winced in pain, frozen in his current postion.
"Looks like I have the upper-hand. I'm part shadow demon you...traitor." Surprisingly, tears began to well up inside you," Lucky for you, I'm feeling non-malice today," You replied with a nasty edged tone as you slid a vile of dark green liquid from the right pocket of your jacket. Since the scene was in full view of the window, the guys in the tree were kind of anxious to know what that stuff was, they were leaning so far away from the tree, they almost fell out. Hiei didn't pay attention to others reactions. He just kept on listening. Untwisting the top of the vile, you let a single drop of the liquid fall to the assassin's head, and he fell to the ground out cold.

Kuwabara's POV during the intruder's scene~
"So tell me again. Why are we here?" Yusuke asked Kurama. The guys continued to listen to Matoko's conversation, ignoring Yusuke. Then they heard the guy say he's an assassin.
"Hey, don't you think we should get that Kaname guy away from Matoko?" Yusuke continued to watch.
"Just watch," Hiei replied calmly. Then they saw Kaname push Matoko up against the wall. The guys watched Matoko as Kaname sliced her neck. Tuning in on the last seconds of the conversation, they saw something shocking.
"Heh. What good will that do you?" They heard Kaname say, glaring as Matoko slid her foot out.
"This," Matoko said, stomping lightly on his shadow. He winced out in pain.
"Looks like I have the upper-hand. I'm part shadow demon you...traitor. Lucky for you, I'm feeling nonmalice today," You replied with a nasty edged tone as you slid a vile of dark green liquid from the right pocket of your jacket. They guys leaned too far, almost falling over. Then Matoko untwisted the top on the vile and allowed a single drop of the liquid to fall upon his head. Then he fell to the ground, out cold.
"Whoa! What in the world was that?!" Yusuke nearly yelled out.
"Shut up Yusuke! You want Matoko to know we're spying on her?!" Yuri looudly whispered, looking up.
"I wouldn't really call it spying...but...Please, quiet down," Kurama pleaded as he rested a hand on his temples.
"I think I've seen that some where before...I think it's called Tremble Point..." Hiei mumbled to himself. Kurama, Yusuke, and Kuwabara looked at Hiei in interest.
"Tremble what?" Kuwabara leaned in. Hiei leaned away.
"It's called Tremble Point. It's a special liquid that instantly knocks out a person. Depending on what liquid type it is, it can serve for many purposes and varies in results," Hiei answered.
"You seem very knowlegdeable about this item," Kurama was looking for an answer.
"I think I've seen that once before in my travels..." Hiei mumbled again.
"Hey! Why not letting me in on the conversation?!" Yusuke yelled. Then the guys saw Matoko collapse onto the window ledge. Gasping, they saw Matoko lay on the window ledge, motionless.
Tremble what? (me:......)
pfft. I can get that same stuff! (Me: Reeeeeaallly?) Yup! It's called acid! (Me: You weirdo....)

Falling onto the window ledge, the last bit of energy escaped from your body. Laying there motionless, there was a puddle of blood forming all around you. It seemed you were unconscious. The guys nearly jumped from the tree to help you, but they were almost blown off the tree when a strong gust of wind suddenly came out of no where and blew towards you. As the guys regained their balance, you used your conscious wind powers to get Yukito's scarf out of your pocket. The guys watched the scarf slip out of your pocket; the wind shifted, causing the scarf to float and wrap around your neck. As this went on, you still layed there motionless. As the healing scarf took affect a few seconds after touching your skin, the guys were getting very uneasy. A few seconds later, you stood up and your hand flew to your neck.
"There's a damn scar," You stood up slowly, nearly crashing again. But when you regained balance, you saw that Kaname was still unconscious.
"Hmm...What am I going to do with you?" You wondered, tying the scarf so it would stay tied around your neck.
"Uh..." Kaname groaned as he opened his eyes. You just glared at him as he sat up, locking his eyes with yours.
"I had no choice. I didn't want to do this. But Ishida...I...I'm--" He mumbled. But he stopped talking when he saw you hold out your hand. With your sad eyes, Kaname hesitated to take your hand, but took it anyway.
"Why?" He stuttered, "I thought you'd use this chance to kill me after I made an attempt to kill you,"
"Just get into the bed and sleep. I want you to tell me all about this in the morning," You glared, walking towards the door.
"Heh. How are you so sure I won't just leave?" Kaname bluffed. You walked towards the open window and leaned with you back against the edge.
"See those four people in the tree? And the girl and the base of the tree?" You refered to the guys and Yuri by slightly shifting your gaze towards them.
The guys were shocked and stunned, and almost fell out of the tree again.
"Uh-oh" Kuwabara panicked.
"When did she figure out we were up here?!" Yusuke thought.
"Sharp eyes I see..." Kurama smirked. And Hiei stood there, looking quite interested.
"Heh. Smart one, isn't she?" Hiei just kept on watching the scene like the others.
"Well, as I was saying, those guys up there in the tree, will make sure you stay here. Right in this room. So don't try anything funny," Matoko finished as she looked out the open window. The guys stared at her wide-eyed, Matoko could tell that Yusuke and Kuwabara were just being their usual selves. Then Matoko turned around and walked towards the door.
~Back to Matoko's/Your POV~
"Wait..." Kaname called out, holding his hand out like a stop sign.
"If you were wondering where I'll be sleeping, I'll be around the house," You answered, stopping in your tracks then finally left the room entirely.
Whoa......what just happened? (Me: O.o ditto....)
Why dies Matoko act so.....(Me: Strange? Mysterious? Weird?) yes...but that's not exactly what I has in mind....

"So...what now?" Kuwabara asked.
"Leave, and go to sleep. That's it," Hiei answered.
"What about Matoko and that Kaname guy?" Yusuke asked.
"We don't have to do as she says. I'm not going to stay here through the whole night, but you bakas will." Hiei said, disappearing...but then someone came out of the shadows. It was....
