You were sitting in a huge tree. Your bored gaze was fixed to the sky. Your fingers were playing with a headset in your hands, although you could still hear what your teammates were talking through it.
‘Today weather’s perfect… Nice day to do some training…’
“This is Sasuke, arrived at point B”
You closed your eyes and leaned back a little enjoying the gentle breeze.
“This is Sakura. I’m at point C”
‘Those idiots sound so serious…’
There was a short pause then you heard Naruto’s voice.
“This is Naruto, arrived at point D”
“Your slow, Naruto” Kakashi commented. You smirked to yourself.
Some time passed and you still were silent.
“Kaede” Kakashi finally sighed.
“What?” you asked still smirking to yourself.
“Where are you?”
“In a tree”
“Are you in point A?”
“No” you were sure they could hear sneer in your voice.
Kakashi sighed again as Sasuke grunted.
“And why not?”
“I’ve already told you I won’t chase some cat”
“That’s a mission”
“To you it might be a mission; to me it’s nothing worth attention”
“Kaede” Kakashi sure was sighing a lot today.
“Let’s leave her” Sakura suggested.
“We can’t” was Kakashi’s answer. “Kaede,stop playing around”
“No ,here you three are playing around. You’re acting like it is big deal… It’s ridiculous, that’s just a cat and I’m not going to act like it’s something big.” You stated.
“But you did all those D ranked missions we had, then why you won’t do this?”
“I’ve just told you. Come on, it’s just a cat. You don’t need to be a ninja to catch some pet. I could catch it in one minute, but noooo….you have to do all that nonsense with ‘points’ and radio connection… I could be training right now!” you ended coldly. You seriously weren’t going to play their games.
“Ohhh,Kaede-chan,but that’s our mission! We need to do this!” Naruto cried.
“Shut up, usuratonkachi” Sasuke said annoyed by his loudness “Tori, move your butt and…”
“Okay then…” Kakashi cut him off, Sasuke grunted as he did so ”Go and catch that cat by yourself.”
“Hm?” you opened your eyes now interested a little. “By myself?”
“Hai”
“Okay…”
You jumped out of the tree and stretched a little. After just sitting in a tree and doing nothing for so long your body felt a little numb. Luckily sense was slowly returning to your arms and legs.
‘Hm…this’ll be easy”
You closed your eyes and tried to focus.
Thanks to your headset you could hear Naruto mumbling something. It didn’t let you to concentrate so you picked it off and threw iton the grass.
‘Much better…’
Here it was… A very weak body energy… Normal ninja probably couldn’t sense it but you were good at it.
‘Must be that cat’
You took off running and soon a small brown cat came in your eyesight. You stopped running and slowly walked to it. When you were close enough you used a chakra string and threw it at the cat. The string wrapped itself around pet’s leg. The cat startled and tried to run away but your chakra string didn’t let it to do that. You smirked slowly walking to the pet.
You heard your teammates approaching and you picked up the cat moving the string from its leg.
“Hey, you caught it!” Naruto shouted as he ran to you.
“Of course” you retorted and gave him the cat “here, you hold it. I don’t like cats”
The same second he took the cat it started mew angrily while trying to scratch him. Naruto felt on his butt trying to keep his face unharmed. Sakura finally arrived too and now she was watching Naruto with a happy smile on her face.
‘I should have given that cat to her… maybe it would have hurt her…’
You noticed Sasuke who was standing few feets away from you. With a bored face on he said something in his headset.
“It’s the target for sure”
You sighed as you lifted your face to look at the sky.
‘Glad it’s over. Maybe now we could do something serious…’
“Isn’t there more exciting missions we could work on?!” Naruto shouted loudly.
Yep, you were glad you’ve taken off you headset….

“Ohhh… My cute Tora-chan….” A really fat woman,Shimiji-san, exclaimed bringing the cat in a bones crushing hug. “I was so worried about you!”
Naruto laughed with satisfied look on his face it was clear he was enjoying the sight.
“Haha, that cat’s getting what it deserves”
“No wonder he ran away…” Sakura said.
You yawned. Man, that was boring.
“Then… Team’s 7th next mission will be…” Hikage started while looking at his papers “…Babysitting Oojyu-sama’s boy… grocery shopping at the neighboring town… Helping dig up potatoes at…”
“NO!” Naruto shouted all of sudden. You glanced at him slightly surprised.
“No! Thanks to all of those!” he yelled once again as he did an ‘X’ with his hands. The rest of the team watched him with astonished looks on their faces.
“I want to do more exciting mission! Choose something else!”
From the look on Sasuke’s face you could tell he was thinking the same. On the other hand, Sakura and Kakashi didn’t look too happy.
“Baka!” Iruka cried standing up. “You’re still a novice ninja! You have to do simple missions before you can do something more dangerous!”
“I wouldn’t call it a mission at all” you said surprising the others even more than Naruto did. The latter grinned at you.
“You tell them, Kaede-chan!”
Kakashi hit his head making him fall on the floor, face flat.
“ Cut it out”
“Naruto. Kaede.” The Hokage said “Looks like I need to explain what missions are…”
“No” you cut him off not caring it was a Hokage you were talking to “judging from the missions you’re giving to us looks like you need to be explained what a real mission is”
You felt them all staring at you. You could tell they were stunned. Even the stony Uchiha had a surprised look on his face. And Iruka…Iruka was simply shocked… you were one of his best students ever, after all.
Hokage simply looked at you while sticking his pipe in his mouth.
‘Gross’
“You need to be told about mission ranks…”
“Don’t even bother. D- for beginners or, in other words,genins. C ranked missions are done by mostly chuunins and genins sometimes. The chuunins also get to do B ranked missions, while the most difficult A ranked missions are done by Jounins. Don’t even try to say that since we all have just become genins D ranked missions are best for us ‘cause that’s not true. You don’t even need to be a ninja to do those ‘missions’ “ you finished glaring at the Hokage.
Kakashi sweatdropped and bowed to the Hokage.
“I’m sorry and I’m sure she’s sorry too”
“Don’t be ‘cause I’m not sorry” you snapped at him with an icy glare. “I want a REAL mission”
“Yeah, that’s right! We want a REAL mission!” Naruto backed you up. “I’m not the kid who used to pull pranks anymore! We’re mature enough to get a good mission” he turned around and pouted. You turned your gaze to Hokage.
“For once I agree with that idiot”
To your surprise Iruka’s face softened and he smiled a little. Hokage laughed softly. You raised your eyebrow.
“Okay, I understand”
You,Naruto, Sakura and Sasuke looked at the old man slightly surprised.
“If you insist I will allow you to take a C ranked mission”
Your face felt.
“Just C…” you mumbled with disappointment.
“it’s to escort a certain person”
“Really?” Naruto jumped up looking all happy. “Who are they? A lord? Or maybe a princess?”
“Most likely some drunk man” you murmured loud enough for everyone to hear. Sasuke smirked at your direction.
“Don’t be so hasty” the Hokage said still smirking and completely ignoring your comment. “I will introduce him now. Can you please come in now?” he asked in a louder tone.
You all twirled around as you heard the door behind you being opened. The first thing you saw was a big bottle of sake or something like that. The door was opened wider as a drunken looking man stepped inside.
“Yep, definitely a drunk man” you said causing everyone to sweatdrop.
“What? They’re all kids!” the man yelled before taking a long sip from his bottle. “Hey, is the smallest one with an idiotic face really a ninja?”
Naruto laughed looking from you to Sasuke and Sakura.
“Who’s the one with idiotic face?”
“The same with no brain” you replied and took a step to smirking Sasuke. You all lined up. Sasuke was the tallest, and then was Sakura, then you. And Naruto was the smallest. The look on his face changed immediately.
“I’m going to kill you!” he tried to run at the old man but Kakashi caught him.
“Don’t kill the man you’re supposed to protect, you idiot”
The drunken man looked at you.
“ I’m the bridge building expert, Tazuna. You’ll have to protect me with your lives till I complete the bridge”
“Not a chance’ you snubbed.
Kakashi scratched the back of his head grinning nervously.
“Please ignore her… Today’s definitely not her day…”
