I’ve been working on a small RC car that I want to use as a platform for an infrared illuminator. I’m planning to mount an infrared camera on it and try to take video from inside a rabbit warren near my house. I stripped down the chassis to the bare bones and want to replace the operating headlights with infrared illuminators because I think regular light would disturb the rabbits. I put tank treads on it instead of wheels so it should have good traction and mobility. I think that once it stops moving for a while, the rabbits would go back to their normal activity patterns and I could get some really cool footage. I’m not sure how far in the car can go before it loses the wireless connection the video receiver and the remote control. I may need to add a trailing wire antenna to extend the range.
