"We found a UV light in her room. Right above her bed." Bitch Jr. said, and put it on the table.
"It's a black light, she's got some cool stuff in her room that glow." I said.
"It still could explain the rash." she said. "We also found anti-depressiants."
"I was on them for awhile, I haven't been using them in a long time." I said. "I probably should, but I haven't."
"Do you think she might be using them?" Bjorn asked. "Because we found them in her room."
"I don't know my own daughter." I said. "And she's nine."
"It happens someday."
"She's Nine. She shouldn't be pulling crap like this." I said.
"That's what every parent says, no matter how old they are." Brant said.
I looked down, and nodded.
"I don't want to hurt the case, so you guys go find out if she's been sneaking my anti-depressants." I said. "Bjorn, you do it."
"Why him?" Bitch Jr. asked.
"Your name is Bitch Jr." I said. "He's a young, cute doctor, and she's nine. Any more questions?"
Bjorn and Bitch Jr. both blushed, but didn't say anything, and he left.
"House." Foreman said, walking in. "You need to drop the case."
"No." House said.
"Yeah, either drop the case, or you two had better quit whatever it is you've got going on, because your fiancee is asking questions." he said, pointing to me.
"You need to dump him." House said.
"We've been together nearly a year." I said.
"So dump him." he shrugged.
"And what, move in with you?" I asked.
He raised an eyebrow, and I smiled.
"I'm out of vicodin." he said.
"You've got some in your backstock." I said.
"How do you know that?" he asked.
"She's been sneaking pills every now and then." Bjorn said.
"Her blood isn't taking to the Vitamin C either." Gemma said.
"Could it be cancer?" I asked Wilson, who shook his head.
"Not any kind I've ever seen." he said.
"It's Lupus." House said suddeny.
"What?" I asked.
"Think about it." he said. "the rash, she's sneaking pills, UV." he looked at me. "It fits. Her joints, and feaver."
"It's never Lupus." I breathed.
"We've got a case." he said, before spouting off instructions to the team, while I sat there.
I knew the risks of this disease.
No known cure.
She could die.
I sat there for what seemed like hours.
"What is it?" Max asked, walking into my office.
"S.L.E.." I said, and his face was blank. "Systemic lupus erythematosus" Nothing. "Lupus" Still Nothing. "It's bad."
"Well, what's the cure?"
"There is no cure." I said. "They can treat the symptoms, but there's no cure."
"How did she get it?"
"By being an idiot." I said darkly.
"Honey, she's nine." he said.
"Yeah, and she's already trying to get high." I snapped. "She's been taking my anti depressants."
"I didn't know..." he said.
"Look, about everthing that's been going on, I'm sorry."
"It's OK." he said. "I just, sense a lot of tension around House."
"I'm sleeping with him." I said, and his face paled.
"How long?"
"A month or two." I said. "I'm sorry."
"How long have you known him?"
"Three, four years." I shrugged. "I used to be a nurse here, and we met then, never did anything, moved to California, and went to a doctor convention deal, about a month and a half before we met, and House and I started something out there." I sighed.
"I... Does he know you're my fiancee?" he asked.
"Yes." I said, and he turned red, before standing up, and walking out of the office. "Shit. MAX!"
I followed him, to where House was limping down the hall, out of Alex's room.
"There's a lot you don't know about us!" I called to Max, before he pulled his fist back, and punched House in the face, sending him to the floor.
I ran over to House, who looked stunned, and then smirked. "You told him."
"Yeah." I said, and he stood up.
Max swung his fist back again, but House grabbed his wrist, and pulled him close to him.
"Listen up kid." House said softly. "You aren't the only one who loves her." He shoved him back, and Max landed on his ass, and got up, and practically ran out of the place.
"Glad you told him." he said. "Thanks for warning me."
"At least I told him."
