Harley Payne was a normal freshman. She was picked on, made fun of, etc. But she had made friends with a small group of people. They were other normal kids. But she was different than them. She was what they called "emo." She had black and lime green hair, sometimes with streaks of turqouise in it. Her thick-rimmed glasses sat at the edge of her straight nose. Her hazel eyes shone brightly under all the black and green makeup. She usually wore a Marilyn Manson or other band t-shirt with black peg-legs and lime green high tops. Her wrists were covered in jelly bracelets and wrist bands. You could probably guess her favorite colors-- black and lime green.

On this particular day, she was wearing a Panic! Shirt, black high tops, and black jeans, with the legs rolled up so she could expose her new lime green tube socks she bought recently from the local Hot Topic. People stared and looked, but Harley didn't care. She walked proudly around the school to her classes. At lunch, she sat with her friends.
"Hi Harley!!!" said the insane Jordan.
"Hey Jordan."she said smiling and sitting beside her.She then proceeded to have an intense conversation about sporks with her, Britney, Tabetha, and Shelby. But that's whenshe noticed that someone was walking towards her. Someone from the emo group.
"Hey." said the emo.
"Hi...?" Harley said, confused.
"Yeah, we need to talk to you." she said, pulling Harley out of her seat and dragging her to her friends.
"Harley, this is Tracy, Ryan, Sara, Canesha, Ryan, yes there's 2, and Drew. I'm Sarah." she said, smiling and tilting her head so that her purple and green bow was exposed. There was silence for a while, when suddenly Ryan 1 piped up;
"Why didn't you start hanging out with us on the first day of school?"
"Uummm... well I didn't really know anyone here, so.. I just hung out with the people I knew." said Harley, scratching the back of her head. Let's see, Ryan 1 has shorter hair, and Ryan 2 has shoulder-length hair, she thought.
