Lovin' My Neverland [Nick Jonas] I

Triquel! Isn't that insane? I'm kinda bugging right now, but in a good way. I'm so thrilled for this one. It follows the couple throughout 2008, with some bumps in the road - of course. So here it is - the sequel to LMN! Enjoy!

January 10, 2008-

Ever heard of out at sea love stories? Well, here’s a unique one for ya. Imagine, rising boy band—ubber hot and cute—the Jonas Brothers, were your charges for an entire three months on a beautifully scenic ocean liner cruise around the Caribbean. What would be your first reaction? Faint? Scream? Kiss the deck’s ground and praise the Lord? That wasn’t any of Lucy Jonas’, previous surname Roane, 15, emotions when she was given the news—or, orders.

Lucy: I’d been an employee on the ship already for three years. It wasn’t new to me that I was going to be the guide for a handsome trio of siblings. I was over the whole celebrity star struck silliness way before I ever heard they’d be spending their vacation onboard.

Nick: She was completely unfazed when we met her; calm, collected, professional. She was doing her job and that was it. The craziest part for me and my brothers was that she immediately told us our music rocked. We were just waiting for it to sink in and she’d start freaking out. Never came. Holly, on the other hand…

People were the first to report the news of youngest Jonas Brothers member, Nick Jonas, 15, had secretly wed his sweetheart girlfriend of seven months in a quaint ceremony late in the evening on a cool November night. The actual date would still not be released for a small ounce of privacy.

Nick: We had this very deep conversation with the group of people, both family and friends, to decide if we were going to confirm the rumor or not. All of us realized we’d never have the privacy from the media or fans after it came out like before. We agreed that our fans deserved the truth, so here we are, but what little details we can afford to keep to ourselves we’re gonna do so.

The mysterious, yet worldwide epic event that took place last June on the British liner, Queen Mary 2, was never fully explained. It became a huge media topic, but no issues were stated other than the request of not bothering any one involved—meaning the two Jonas Brothers that had been apart of the disaster and their now main squeezes, Lucy and her best friend, Holly Jaden, 17. The only information we could pry out of the duo teenagers was they would never have survived if it weren’t for the petite brunette, Lucy Jonas. She humbly accepted the acknowledgement, though wished to leave her heroism in the past.

Now, as People sat down with the young couple for the exclusive first interview in their Washington D.C. suite before everyone had to head off to one of the few remaining soundchecks the Jonas Brothers had as opening act to Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus’ Best of Both World’s Tour, we laid out all the questions we had and questions sent in from their fans.

P: First off, congratulations, you two.

Nick: Thank you so much.

Lucy: Yes, thank you.

P: You’re leaked wedded news has swept the gossip nation faster than most of the stories in 2007. How do you feel about that?

Nick: Overwhelmed is one of them. Also hurt that someone spilled our relationship without our knowledge, but it happened and now we just want the fans to know because it’s a part of our [the Jonas Brothers] lives and they deserved to be kept informed. When we started out, my family knew some things about our personal lives wouldn’t be so quiet and we accepted that if it meant living our dreams.

Lucy: Nick wears his heart on his sleeve when he’s up on stage singing, doing what he loves. Joe and Kevin, included. All of us decided to announce this for the betterment of everyone it affected.

P: Yes, speaking of performing, those rumors of you, Nick, dating Miley Cyrus. Obviously they were untrue…

Nick: Yes, I never dated Miley. We’re just good friends and that’s it. The whole not confirming and dodging answers thing was just for publicity. She’s a great girl but that’s the extent of it.

P: And what is your opinion on the rumor, Lucy?

Lucy: Nick told me flat out the moment it really went to an insane level and every interview he was asked—that it was a stunt. We’re completely honest with each other and our trust is unbreakable. I didn’t care about the rumor because I knew the truth.

Nick: That whole situation really showed me how trusting Lucy was of me and our relationship. She’s not the kind of person to get jealous.

P: Being the wife of someone in a boy band with 97% of the fans being teenage girls, you’d have to be, am I right, Lucy?

Lucy: You got it! [laughs] To be with any of the brothers, girls have to be willing to share their man! And I’m fine with sharing my husband with all the fans. It’s extra love and the world needs more love, therefore, I’m happy to spread it.

P: That’s very superior of you. Nick is known for being the serious Jonas Brother. Are you the same?

Lucy: In some ways, of course. But I’m still a teenager, I love having some good fun. Nick and I are quite mature for our ages though. We’d have to be if we’re going to show the world we married on sane fundamentals and not just boisterous teenage whims. But even before we met, we also just happened to be quite mature for our age.

Nick: We got married on a very sudden decision, but we didn’t take it lightly. We knew that it was serious…the most significant choice of our lives. Our families were surprised, but understood that our choice was something we wanted more than anything and weren’t just goofing off with idea. We’re not like that, never have been.

And, we don’t recommend or encourage fellow teens to get married like we had. Do it if you’re so absolutely in love that your world revolves around that person and needing them with you every step of the way. Unconditional love was our reason to get married and be with each other no matter what obstacles came at us. It bound us so that we could never be separated. I wanted Lucy as my wife simply because she’s my life, my love and I can’t even imagine not being with her every possible moment.

P: It’s refreshing to see two young people be so in love and married for such touching motives and not for a pregnancy or other logistics.

Nick: Thank you. There’s no pregnancy, no rightful or dutiful reasons for our marriage. We just wanted to be together as husband and wife for spiritual reasons, nothing more. No profane notions behind it at all.

Lucy: Exactly. We didn’t get married for the intimate provisions that it entailed. We hadn’t even thought of that when we were hurriedly planning the wedding or afterwards. It’s not a part of our relationship yet.

P: If I may say, that’s refreshing to hear from two teenagers. How is it, Lucy, to tag along on the tour with four boys? Does the testosterone become too much after awhile?

Lucy: Not really, no. A bit sweaty and smelly after they perform, but everything else is spectacular. It’s very loud, [laughs] especially with Joe. He likes to pick on me because I’m so short [she’s 5’2] but I get him back and of course, Nicholas is forced to defend me too. [laughs] I love it though. I love my family and having three brothers. I was an only child so it was a definite leap into the close circuit bond the Jonas’ have, which I welcomed wholeheartedly. Being a Jonas is incredible.

P: Can you tell our readers anything about your wedding day?

Nick: It was actually a nighttime wedding. Joe, Kevin and I had just finished a smaller gig to connect with our fans; it was crazy. My mom was just making this list and asking what we wanted…and Lucy and I were just like, ‘Let’s do this already!’ Nothing else mattered to us except saying I do.

Lucy: It was very intimate. Only our families were there; Joe and Kevin and their girlfriends, who happen to be my best friends and Frankie were the wedding party. No one was in formal wear, just what they’d been wearing that night. Thankfully, Denise was her quick-thinking self and gathered some sports coats for the men. We had just enough time for the girls to their hair and makeup done before the ceremony. It was quite funny to see the pictures and everyone’s in jeans. It doesn’t even look like a wedding photo.

P: The wedding was spontaneous, is that it?

Nick: Definitely. I asked Lucy about three minutes after I saw her for the first time in four months, so yeah. It was the greatest moment of my life. Lucy is the greatest thing in my life.

Lucy: He always says the most perfect things. Believe me, I’m not immune to his swoon-worthy looks or words. Far from. My face is a tomato, if you can’t tell. [laughs]

P: Can you tell us about yourself, Lucy? So everyone can get to know the Mrs. Nick Jonas?

Lucy: [laughs] Mrs. Nick Jonas…that’s amusing since thousands of girls have that name plastered everywhere. My heart goes out to them. I know they must hate me for taking any chances with Nicholas away. Hopefully they can accept it…me with him. I don’t want to cause an upset…

But let’s see: I’m a tech nerd. I love working with technology—computers, software’s, anything electronic. I don’t really come across as an avid geek, do I? The Apple store is one of my favorite places to be. I have a slight British accent, according to my family. I honestly can’t hear it at all. Um…what else should I tell?

Nick: I’ll ask you some questions. Wow, complete reverse of what I usually do. [chuckles] Favorite food?

Lucy: You had to start with that one? Uh, I’m quite fond of chicken fettuccine, or cheeseburgers…steak, especially with you. Oh, but what I miss terribly is the pasties from the UK. I spent a good portion of my life in England, what with working on the ship. It’s this meat, vegetables and gravy meal inside a dough crust; it’s the best.

Nick: [smiling] Favorite color?

Lucy: [grinning mischievously] Red.

Nick: Birthday?

Lucy: You should know that one—all these, actually.

Nick: Of course. October 9th. You like mint chocolate chip ice cream, any Johnny Depp movies, Heroes is the collective favorite TV show, you forgot to say that you’re the biggest bookworm ever, you’re very smart…she’s almost done with school. You’re in eleventh now, right, Luce?

Lucy: [blushing] Yes. I just have more time to do school than he does so I get more done in a day. How ‘bout we change the subject!

Don’t care for the spotlight?

Lucy: I prefer the behind-the-scenes duties. Always have. But I know that people will start wanting to see photos of me when I go out with Nick and our brothers, with Holly and Kelly, my mom…and that’s okay. I happily leave the main light on Nick, Joe and Kevin.

Their outstanding gentleman and musicians and I can’t even begin to describe how blessed I am for having them, Frankie, and Mr. and Mrs. Jonas. I’m beyond honored to call myself family and Nick’s wife. I’ll be there every minute, cheering them on, supporting every move they make—just from the sidelines, even if I’ll now be a public figure. It’ll still be them first and foremost, three brothers in a mega-hit band.

Nick: I’m just living the dream with my family. I couldn’t ask for more and we’re so thankful for every opportunity and chance to stay in the industry. It’s our fans, though, that we couldn’t be anything without. So thank you for all that you do.

-----

I sighed heavily to myself, slouching into the leather interior of the car. I was glad People had sent us an advanced copy; it wouldn’t be out till the fourteenth. The article was good, insightful and hopefully satiable for everyone to grasp the truth of Nicholas and I. Said husband mumbled and shifted more into my shoulder, hand threaded with mine. I glanced down at him, my magnificent sleeping Jonas and kissed his forehead, resting my cheek atop his curls.

The early morning city of Los Angeles sped and blurred past me and the half unconscious people in the van. Joe’s neck was leaning all the way back, sending his face skyward, his mouth slightly open as he slept drowsily. You couldn’t help but laugh at how truly Joe it was, especially with the Ray-ban’s on.

The poor boy, though. Just five days ago his clumsiness cost him eight stitches above the bridge of his nose after tripping into a wall. Yes, a wall. Joseph just couldn’t avoid stepping over his own two feet. Needless to say, the entire Jonas clan’s nerves were fried—deep pan style.

We, mainly Denise and I, had been at his beck and call twenty four hours straight. It was difficult to not sympathize for that raven-haired sweetheart once you saw him brave the emergency room. His brothers and I had slept in the same hotel room since he was released, on our toes for anything he might want.

And, boy, did Joe milk that for all it was worth.

Now, we were driving home. Home. I hadn’t been on tour long, but I couldn’t wait to curl up in a cozy bed with Nicholas and just sleep. No mental alerts of waking up early, no travelling, no set plans for at least a week. Can you understand how lovely that is?

I closed my eyes, relaxing beside my husband while Big Rob drove with Mr. Jonas in passenger seat. Red eye flights weren’t exactly what you could call ideal, but we wanted to deviate as much as possible from a full airport and paparazzi. We were attempting to avoid that, what with Joseph’s accident a popular topic in news too.

Denise’s gentle hand shook my shoulder from the middle row in front us where she shared with Frankie and Kevin, “Lucy…” I opened my eyes and smiled, tired and lazy. She returned the gesture with her natural heartwarming one, “We’re a block away.”

I nodded and lifted my head, tilting to rouse Nicholas. The back of my hand caressed the side of his strikingly handsome face, “Baby. Wake up, love.” I pressed a kiss to his temple, brushing the heavy curls out of view. He inhaled and removed himself from my fluffy coat covered shoulder.

Rubbing his eyes, he turned to me, smiling adorably in his sleepy state, “Hey, Luce.” I smiled softly, kissing his cheek, “Hi. We’re almost to the house.” His eyes widened further in acknowledgment, the grogginess still prominent as he rubbed one of them, “Awesome.”

I chuckled under my breath, “Here, scooch over for a sec.” I climbed over Nick’s lap to kneel on the seat so I could wake up Joseph. We all had been taking it easy on him. I shook his shoulder much like Denise had done to me, slipping his shades off, “Joe. Joe…time to greet the day.”

He smacked his mouth together, moaning while his neck straightened to its normal position. Half-awake, he stared at me, “Morning, sis.” I bit down my laugh, “Hi, Joe. We’re here.” Just as I spoke, the van slowed to a stop in the driveway. He scratched his hair, “Good. Bed. Sleep.”

Nick chuckled behind me, collecting our bags from the floor. I brushed his long bangs away, “Well put, Joseph.” The door was opened and Kevin climbed out, helping his mom with a dozing Frankie. She eased Joe from his spot, doting on his jacket and checking his stitches while Nick and I exited last.

I stopped to admire the house that was now my home. It was the garage area, but that even held a charming quality. Denise was ushering us inside, “Joseph, you go right to bed and rest.” Mutely, he complied, taking Frankie with him and leaving down a long hallway to a section of the house while we had to deal with the luggage. Lucky wounded fella.

Everyone’s bags were piled into the front room where it’d be sorted later. Mr. Jonas was letting us off easy, mainly his two remaining sons, after finally returning home from months gone on tour. “Just leave them there once you’ve taken all of them out and enjoy a few more hours of sleep.”

He went to the office by the kitchen and began working again. He never stopped if you asked me. I managed to see snippets of the house while I assisted with the transfer, glimpsing family photos that I couldn’t wait to inspect. The air smelt delightful, very family based if that was feasible.

“I’ll give you the grand tour after we get some more sleep. Is that okay?” I was beginning to feel disoriented from the lack of sleep over the past week. I nodded vaguely, allowing Nick to guide me through the house and out the kitchen door to the backyard. I had no idea where we were going, but as long as it had a mattress I was fine.

The cool air of outside was refreshing as the massive effects of ignoring my needs for Joseph’s was quickly incapacitating me. I was starting to go cross-eyed from fatigue. Was that bad? Keys jingled and my beloved unlocked a new door, white with glass panels. I guess I was functioning enough to catch detail—good sign.

“Where are we?” Nick stepped inside, pulling me with him gently. “The guest house. Well, it’s ours now.” I blinked when we entered, gripping my beloveds hand as he shut the door behind us. I was at a loss for words. It was perfect. Small, yes, but idealistic.

The majority of the one room was the most luscious, inviting king bed I’d ever laid eyes on. All white sheets and a big, plush comforter. I wanted to cry, I was that exhausted and grateful and happy.

There was a tiny kitchen area squashed into the front corner; a simple sink counter, shelves and a fridge from what I could tell. An armoire was directly adjacent to the bed, where I was positive held a TV. Two other doors were to the right—maybe a closet and bathroom?

I spun and clung onto Nicholas in a tight, warm hug. My eyes fluttered shut as I nestled into his chest, “I love you so much.” His strong arms wrapped around me, “I love you too, Luce. Do you like it?” I nodded, melting into him, “More than I can describe.”

He chuckled, “Tired?” I huffed weakly, sagging as I felt myself drifting, “That’s quite an understatement.” In one swift move, Nick scooped me into his hold and carried me to the bed, “I know, baby. You did such an amazing job with Joe, pushing yourself way too far for him.”

I moaned in response, slipping my coat off and dropping it on the floor. No disrespect to our residence or Denise for the mess—I was just unbelievably out of it. Nick was shedding layers as well, “I never did thank you, Luce. You were wonderful keeping everyone calm and taking care of us like you do.”

He leaned over from where I sat in the middle of the ultra soft bed and kissed me. His eyes met mine and I lost myself with adoration, “Thank you.” I placed my cheek against his, breathing in the scent of my delicious husband, “Anything for my family.”

Touching his lips to mine once more, Nick shed the last article of clothing to his white T-shirt and undid his jeans, stepping out of them. Oh, so he was gonna play it like that. Two can tango that way. I pulled my blue sweater off, then my long-sleeve shirt, leaving me in a black cami. I pushed my boots to the ground as I glanced at my husband, “Shirt, please?”

He smirked, but removed the tee and revealed his white beater. I slid out of my jeans and undid my bra, tugging it from under my top. I saw Nick’s eyes linger, darkening just a shade as I lifted my arms up, standing on my knees. Oh yeah, payback was fun.

He never broke his gaze while he sweetly placed the shirt over my head and I put my arms through the sleeves. We hadn’t brought our suitcases with us, therefore there weren’t pajamas to change into. We stood in just our undergarments. I wasn’t complaining one bit.

Though Nick and I agreed to no sex, it didn’t mean we—or at least I—minded leaving little to the imagination. I’d worship my husband’s body every minute if I could. It was almost unfair how beautiful he was.

His warm hands cupped my neck and brought me closer till our lips met tenderly. I shifted from my spot until we were pressed against each other. I could feel the contours of his torso, the natural bulge in his boxer-briefs touching my leg considering the bed was set quite high and the bare muscles of his arms around me.

Winter didn’t give us many chances to stay unclothed for long periods of time without shivering instantly. The room was toasty and the atmosphere loving. It was dream-like and I was adoring every second of it. I parted my lips to allow Nicholas’ tongue access for a moment before tilting back.

His chocolate eyes were glazed with affection, “I love you, Luce.” I smiled, my fingertips playing across his jaw, “I love you too, baby. Now, to bed.” He chuckled, but readily climbed up and slid us both under the cold covers. I snuggled into his chest, absorbing his body heat, tucked into his side. Nick’s arm stayed around my shoulders, keeping me close. It was one of our many sleeping positions..

I was fading fast, unable to stay awake any longer. The exhaustion just swooped up out of nowhere so quickly once we arrived, probably because I felt so content here. We were going to be in one consistent place and for the two months I had spent with my husband and family, we never had an actual regular residence to stay in besides the always moving bus.

“Welcome home, Lucy J.” I sighed, gripping the sheet and his tank, “You too, Nick J.”
