--Day One--

Your vision slowly returned. You had been awakened from your deep stupor by a strange screaming sound. It was bloodcurdling and it started to scare you. As you listened, you heard that the scream was more than human. It was mixed with a ripping howl, a roar of anguish more terrifying than even Edward's snarl. At that point, you began to open your eyes. As your vision started to clear you realized that the howling scream was erupting from your own throat. You widened your eyes, scanning the room for your love. The burning that had started in your arm now engulfed your entire body. You took a deep breath and held it, fighting the urge to lash out at whoever you saw first. You saw first Carlisle, then Esme, and finally Edward, standing in the corner. His face was twisted into extreme concern and pain. You gasped, trying to talk to him. You wanted to tell him thank you for this, even though the pain was blinding.

You realized that you were laying on your back on the hardwood floor, writhing in pain. You rolled over on your side and curled your long body into a ball. You pushed yourself up onto your knees and saw something dripping onto the floor. You felt blood seeping out of your mouth and it occurred to you that your canine teeth had extended and ripped through your own bottom lip. You could feel your eyes burning and your face was thrown into a terrible snarl. You felt a stifling pressure in your chest, like you were being smothered. You gasped for air but could not pull any more into your lungs. You fell onto your hands, seeing that they were longer than before and tapered into long claws. You shuddered hard, every muscle in your body convulsing violently. You collapsed again, falling hard on the side of your face. Your vision began to fog up again, and you called out for Edward.

"Edward..." you breathed, going numb and starting to shake.

He crashed onto his knees next to you. "Yes, Miranda?" He cradled your head in his cold hands, the ice relieving your skin of the burn.

"I...I love you. Th...Thank you."

His voice sounded broken and defeated. "I love you too. You're welcome," he struggled to reply. He buried his face in your hair as you plunged back into darkness.

--Day Two--

You felt like you were underwater. It was strange; all the sounds came through garbled and faint. Your ears thudded painfully. You heard a fierce moaning. Your head felt like your head was splitting, and every beat of your heart was slow and strained. Your arms stung painfully and you felt like throwing up everything you'd ever eaten. Your eyes snapped open suddenly as a sharp burst of pain tore through your chest. You tried to climb to your feet, but slammed back into the floor. You howled and screamed at the same time, clutching the floor and feeling it give way to your... claws. You looked down to see massive white paws on the end of canine legs. You looked up for Edward, seeing him on the couch. You tried again to regain your feet, but once again collapsed onto the floor. You couldn't judge how big you were, but you were at least the size of a Great Dane.

You were hurting more than you ever had in your life, and you could see dark red blood oozing through your fur. You whimpered softly, looking to Edward longingly. Your muscles tensed as you went into more spasms of pain, yelping then screaming, screaming the yelping. You felt an unbearable weakness come over you and you lay still on the floor. Even when your chest felt like it was going to explode, you just closed your eyes and clamped your jaws together. You felt like you were smothering and drowning and on fire- all at the same time. You couldn't clear your mind enough to think of anything but how much it hurt. Breathing was hard and you couldn't get enough air into your lungs. You felt as though you were choking on nothing at all... nothing but the searing pain in every part of you. You couldn't even remember waking up. The agony consumed your mind, keeping you from seeing, keeping you from hearing. The pain drove you into a sort of coma of hurt, and you clawed out for Edward before passing out again.

--Day Three--

You could hear the soft chirping of birds and the gentle whisper of the wind outside. You opened your eyes slowly, the bright light being very painful at first. You could feel a blanket wrapped around you, and something scratchy all over your arms and legs. You pushed the covers off, feeling sharp bursts of pain from various places on your body.

"I wouldn't advise that," a familiar voice said.

You smiled and looked into the slightly dark eyes of your favorite vampire. "Hi Edward," you whispered softly.

"Hello love," he replied. He kissed you gently on your forehead, but didn't feel cold. You smiled and looked around. None of the rest of the family was there. Your eyes combed your own body, and what was not wrapped in gauze and bandages was mostly angry red scratches. Your eyes widened and you looked up at Edward.

"What happened to me?"

"You mean aside from the obvious?" he chuckled. "While you were changing, you kept morphing back and forth and shredding yourself pretty much." His voice broke a little. "You were too strong and dangerous and I couldn't stop you from doing it to yourself."

" I'm stronger than you?" you questioned in disbelief. You'd seen him in action, and to think that someone could be stronger than him was impossible.

" Yeah," he chuckled again. " A lot stronger, actually."

" So... what am I?"

" We don't know. Carlisle said he's never seen anything like it before. You're part werewolf, part vampire."

You glanced across the room, spotting a large mirror hanging on the wall opposite you. You looked back down and tried to push yourself up again, but the pain shot through every scratch on your skin, and you only fell back down.

" Bring me a mirror," you ordered with a sigh.

Edward immediately obliged, raising up and taking the mirror down from the wall. He held it in front of you, and the sight was absolutely breathtaking. Although the majority of your body was covered in blood and scratches, your face was untouched apart from two large holes in your bottom lip. Every little detail of the world that had previously been invisible was now magnified. Everything was twice as vibrant, twice as beautiful. Your skin was much paler, but there was still a faint hint of pink in your cheeks. If you had no heart, how could that be? Thump, thump, thump. The sound was loud, surprisingly loud to your ears. You blinked, glancing away from the mirror to Edward.

" My heart?"

" Yeah... We can't figure that out either. You've got a heart, a human pulse... Your skin is normal too. Not too hot and not too cold..."

You sighed, looking back to the mirror to continue your evaluation. Your hair was just like it had been, long and auburn... except it seemed healthier, shinier, just like Rosalie's. You slowly opened your mouth to reveal all of your teeth, back to their normal size. The two gigantic holes on your bottom lip didn't look as nasty as they had a minute before. Were you healing that quickly?

" What are these?" you asked, slowly lifting your hand to point at the wounds.

" Your fangs... The first day after it started you phased for the first time... But it wasn't complete. Your fangs and claws grew in, but your body didn't. They grew through your lips..."

You nodded, glancing back. You raised your gaze to the reflection of your eyes, and you almost gasped. The beautiful, hazel green eye color was completely gone, and all that was left was two solid black pits. You gulped, and then it hit you. Your mouth suddenly felt bone dry, and your throat was suddenly engulfed in flames. You opened your mouth as if trying to suck in moisture from the air. You threw your hands up to your throat despite the pain, wrapping them around it trying to soothe the fire. You glanced back up to Edward, his face twisted into pain again.

" You're thirsty..." he whispered, sitting the mirror on the floor. " We hoped that part of you hadn't been transferred... that you ate like a werewolf."

You nodded, not caring about what they thought or hoped any longer. All you could think about was the undying fire that constantly exploded in your throat. You glanced frantically around the room, seeing nothing but the magnified details of the world; no food. Your nose twitched as you inhaled, and you caught a scent wafting from the door. It was earthy, but smelled absolutely amazing! The fire intensified as you realized that it was what you wanted, you had to find the scent. You jumped to your feet, the wounds not mattering anymore, you had to find the smell!

"Carlisle! Bring the blood!" Edward yelled, grabbing your arm.

You turned to him, hunkering down and hissing angrily at his attempt to stop you. You moved toward the door, your feet feeling odd beneath you. Thankfully, Carlisle had gotten there before you had the chance to get used to your legs again. He burst through the door, a large plastic bag filled to the brim with animal blood. A long plastic tube curled out form the side of it, and you jerked it form his hands as soon as you spotted it. You shoved the tube in your mouth, sucking the entire bag down in minutes. The bag went flat as you pulled the last drop out of it, and you felt the fire return.

" More!" you pleaded, dropping the bag and reaching your hand out for another tube. Emmett appeared behind him, offering you the bag as soon as you asked for it.

You repeated the process with two more bags before your throat felt wet, and the fire was gone. You stepped back when you'd had enough, glanced around the room. Everyone was staring at you like you were some kind of monster, and you had no idea what to do. You felt afraid, of everyone and you continued to step back.

" Miranda..." you heard Edward say, plead. You whipped your head in his direction, instinctively snarling at him. The reaction hurt, and when you saw his face crumble into anguish, the monster was slain. You stood up straight, breathing a bit heavily and stepping slowly toward him. You felt as though you were walking on air, like you'd trip any second...but no matter how quickly you moved, your stride didn't falter.

" Edward," you said back when you reached him, holding your arms out for him.

He smiled weakly, pulling you gently into him and hugging you softly. You hugged him back, with the same amount of strength that you normally used.

" Easy... Miranda," he coughed, pulled himself back until you let go. " You're... killing me."

" I'm sorry," you gasped, stepping back from him.

" It's alright... just remember you're a lot stronger now."

" Yeah," you nodded, glancing at the other two.

Carlisle was looking at you, his eyebrow were pulled together as he watched you as if you were a test subject. You rose a brow, stepping back to Edward.

" You're internal body is like a werewolf, you complexion like a vampire... You thirst for blood, and yet you can phase. You're stronger than any wolf, or any vampire... Remarkable. The perfect super-creature..."

You glanced down at the mirror on the floor, seeing yet another change in your appearance. Your eyes were now a bright, vibrant crimson color... The same as Victoria's. You glared angrily at your reflection.

" Was that human?" you questioned, your eyes still a narrow glare.

" The blood? No, it was bear," Edward answered, looking down at you. " We're going to start you on animals from the beginning... Maybe you'll have it easier than Jasper."

You nodded sighing and glancing down at yourself. You realized that you no longer felt the sharp stings from your wounds... were they still there. You bent down and pulled the thick, blood soaked gauze off of your stomach, where the pain was the most intense before. You looked down at yourself in awe, even though the others didn't seem surprised.

" There isn't even a scratch..."

" No, now that you've awakened your wounds are healing almost instantly," Carlisle replied.

" Good thing about vampires and werewolves alike; we heal instantly. The most devastating break will be grown together in a day, the deepest wound in an hour."

So you were finally immortal. No matter how badly you got hurt, you'd always heal. Your heart would always beat strong with the vampire venom coursing through your veins, and you'd never have to leave your Edward, for any reason. So, now that you had the rest of eternity, what were you going to do?

" So... What happens now?" you said, glancing to each of the vampires in the room.

" Well... I suppose you and Kevin should work on phasing, then I'll take you out in the woods for a hunt..." Edward trailed off, his gaze shifting slowly to Carlisle.

" Then we've got to discuss the Volturi."
