"Renn I have to go" I said quickly. I kept my eyes off her throat. Luckily, it wasn't windy. It took all my will strength not to lunge at her.
"Goodbye, Evan" she said, frowning.
I gave a nod and turned and walked away. Once far enough away, I began my hunt.
The next day, there was school. And Renn was there. I hadn't noticed her before (probably because I didn't think she was real.) She smiled and waved at me at lunch. My family thought this was hilarious (they were all really my family. we were related before we were changed). My family consisted of Anthony, Ruby and Angel. The school was SMALL and had a junior and senior end. Anthony, Ruby and I were in the senior end. Angel, being 7, was in the junior end. Angel was small and had light brown hair and her eyes were going black. Ruby was tall for her 'age' (14) and had reddish hair and her eyes had some of their gold left in them. Anthony was large, an obvious sports star, 18, dark brown hair and very nourished eyes. I was tall and thin, 17, dark haired and sort of faded in.
"Who is that?" Anthony asked, a look of interest on his face.
"Dunno" I lied.
"A random stranger waving at you?"
I ignored him.
Ruby stared at her.
"Don't stare!" I hissed.
She giggled and did as she was told. "Secret girlfriend?"
"No" I replied. "She the one from my visions."
Angel looked at me, her eyes wide. "She's real?!" she asked, her voice sweet, almost sing-songy.
"Well apparently!" I snapped. I watched Renn as she rose and left the cafeteria. I knew she hadn't heard us.
"You've to stay away from her" Ruby warned. She knew about my temper more than anyone and, though she never really showed it, always thought of others, especially those who in danger because of us.
"Tell that to her" I muttered.
"What, walk up to her and say 'stay away from my brother because he's a vampire and has had visions of him killing you'?!" she yelled in a whisper.
I rose from my seat and calmly, hands in pockets, left the cafeteria. I strolled aimlessly around the grounds until a light voice spoke my name.
"Hi Evan" Renn said as she walked up from behind me.
"Hi" I replied.
"You know, I've never seen you here before" she laughed.
"I haven't seen you either" I admitted.
"So what are you doing?" she asked.
"Looking for someone" I lied.
"Oh, ok."
"Yeah, I've to get something off them." I was getting pretty far into the lies and excuses. It was compulsory for a vampire.
"Well, I'll leave you to it." She walked on.
I had a feeling I would be lying to her alot.
Later after school, Ruby wanted to know if I had been talking to Renn. I told I hadn't. Another lie. She didn't believe me but I didn't care. I just wanted to go home. I let Anthony drive and I sat in the back. I had another vision. Renn was drowning and I had saved her. I told Angel and Ruby, who seemed relieved. But which would come true?
