I felt warmth cross my closed eyes and groaned. I didn't want to wake up yet. I should have closed the drapes before I went to bed last night. Too bad I had no forethought, though. Ugh.

I groaned again and buryed my head under my pillow, I inhaled deeply, simply relaxing. I had just crossed over to that blissful darkness when I felt the covers ripped from their rightful place. I jumped and yelled, "What the...!" I left the exclaimation unfinished, my blue eyes widened when I noticed Jacob standing there looking at me with a slack jaw. I wondered why he was still looking at me with that dumb expression on his face, then I blushed realizing that my PJ's weren't exactly the most modest things out there. "...time for school, Vi. You lazy bum, get up." Jacob finally muttered out, averting his eyes to the uncovered window beside my bed.

"Okay...how did you even get in my house?" I asked him, looking away and beating my blush down with a brute force I hadn't realized I had in me. "I have my ways. I'll wait in my car for you, so hurry up." Jacob stated, looking back at me, only keeping his eyes level with mine this time. I was thankful for that, at least. He stayed there, standing in the middle of my room, staring at me. I felt the blush climb my neck again and I sighed. My sigh seemed to knock him out of his weird trance. He turned and walked out of my room...without a word and very quickly. I slowly blew out my breath, causing my cheeks to puff out. Oh...that was awkward.

I got up off of my bed and walked over to my closet, searching for something clean to wear. Living with only your dad could be fun, but at times, you wished for a mother's touch. Like when you needed clean clothes. I laughed with idiotic success when I found a clean pair of jeans and a light purple T-shirt. I then began scrounging around for clean socks and a clean pair of underwear. I finally found a pair of lime green socks...okay, so it wouldn't match the rest of my outift. But they're the only ones I can find. I sighed as I went into the bathroom across the hall to take a quick shower and switch my clothes around. Yes, even the lime green socks.

I dried myself from my shower and quickly brushed my dark brown hair, pulling it back into a high pony-tail. I didn't apply any make-up, though. I've never bothered with the stuff, it seemed to only amplify my many facial flaws. I snorted at my reflection, like I needed something to amplify that. People would pull out the pitch-forks and torches, if that were to happen.

I emerged from the bathroom, clean and happy, I then raced down the stairs and turned into the kitchen for a Poptart. I quickly opened the package containing the cherry goodness within it, I threw away the wrapper, and popped the Poptart into my mouth. I went to the cupbaord standing beside the door and took my white tennis shoes out and plopped them on the floor. I put one of them on, hopping on one foot, then I put on my other one, finally leaning my shoulder against the wall for support to be able to even that without falling over sideways.

I stood, grabbed my book-bag from the same cupboard and slung it around my shoulder. I opened the door and closed it, then locked it behind me. I ran down the steps, and ran over to the car sitting across the street from my house. I glanced over my shoulder and noticed my dad's car still sitting in our driveway. Huh, I would have guessed he was at work by now. Oh, well.

I opened the passenger door and felt a smile slip onto my lips. "Thanks for bringing me to school today, Jake." I said as I plopped down onto the seat, and put my bag on the floor beside my feet. He smiled one of his Jacob smiles in my direction, and I felt my heart stop for a brief moment. Then I remembered where I was, and, more importantly, who I was, and I forced my gaze out the windshield and down the street.

If only I were someone different, someone intelligent, someone beautiful...someone worth Jacob Black's time. Then maybe he'd choose me over Bella, if only I were different.

Jacob started the car, put it in gear and took off down the street. "Slow down Jake. It's only 25 through here." I said, glancing at the speedometer. He was going forty miles per hour! "Sorry, I got some stuff on my mind." Jacob said, sending me a sheepish glance as he slowed down to thirty. Five miles over, but oh well. I'll get what I can. As we turned into the Reservation's High School parking lot, I couldn't help but wonder what Jacob had on his mind. It seemed important, because he was frowning, and he hardly ever frowns. He pulled into an empty parking space, cut the engine, and opened his door, sending a small side long glance me.

'What was that about?' I thought as I shook my head, I opened my door and getting out. I met Jacob by the front of his car. I looked ahead of us and saw Embry and Quil waiting for us by the school entry, I also noted that Quil elbowed Embry and his gaze flew to me and Jacob. I almost blushed when Jacob put his arm around my shoulders, but I knew better than too read anything into his actions. He probably just thought I was cold.

"Hey guys." Jacob greeted, opening the door for me and the guys. I saw Embry wink and Jacob frown...what is that? I turned around and gave all three boys standing just inside the door a wierd look, my eyes narrowed, I had plunked my hands on my hips. Quil laughed and Jacob went wide-eyed. "What, may I ask, is so freaking funny?!" I demanded, crossing my arms. "Nothing." Jacob muttered as he glared at Quil and Embry. "You just look SOO cute!" Embry guffawed, slapping his hand to his thihgh, not worrying about Jacob's glare, now doubled in intensity and completely focused on him. "...what?" I asked, shaking my head. I was now completely perplexed. What was going on here?

"It's nothing. Come on, the bell's about too ring." Jacob said, grabbing my wrist and dragging me away. Not even a second later the bell rang. "How do you do that?" I asked Jacob as he drug me along effortlessly, I was glaring at the bell, and wishing I could tell when it was going to ring as well. "Super hearing and all that." Jacob smirked, moving his hand from my wrist, down to my hand, twining my hand and his together. I blushed, and I think I was the only one noticing the stares we were getting, because Jacob didn't let go. I finally gave up and started to trot to keep up with Jacob's long legged pace.

We got to the History class room and he still didn't let go of my hand. He opened the door and led me over to our usual seats, and only then, when we had to put down our bags did he let go. I mentally sighed with relief when he did let go, I hated it when he did that kind of thing.

It made me wish for things that I shoudn't be wishing for. Like him holding me, kissing me, or touching me period. He only wanted Bella, I had to remember that.

The rest of the day's classes went by without any more different behaviour from Jacob, and I was glad for it. He still made stupid jokes and tryed to get me to laugh at the most innapropiate times, but he didn't grab my hand or anything again. We did get a huge load of homework at the end of the day. Which is just freaking wonderful. Yeah, just flipping awesome.

"If you don't mind, can I do my homework at your place with you?" Jacob asked me as we walked out to his car after school. "Yeah, sure." I shrugged, I was just supirsed he asked. He usually stayed and did homework with me anyway. We got to the car and I went to the passenger side, opened my door and got in, but I kept my bag in my lap this time, I felt less vulnerable when I did that. Jacob got in the car as well, he started the engine and we pulled out onto the road. Jacob kept quiet for the fifteen minute ride just staring ahead of the car, chewing on his bottom lip. I had never seen him so that before, and I was starting to get worried about him. We pulled into my empty driveway, my dad had gone to work apparently. I got out as soon as we stopped, but Jacob took a bit to get out, I waited for him. When he did egt out, he kept his gaze lowered when he walked up to me. I narrowed my eyes in concern, but led the way into the house none-the-less.

I dropped my book bag on the ground, and slipped my shoes off. Jacob copyed my move, then I ran into the kitchen, I was hungry and I was sure Jacob was also. But I asked him to be sure of that fact. "You hungry, Jake?" I called into the front room where he went to set down his stuff. "What do you honestly think, Vi?" I heard his voice say from right behind my back. I yelped and flipped around to see his smirking face, very close to mine. "...it's not freaking funny." I muttered, I turned back around and continued making my ham sandwhich. I then went over and sat down at the small table with my food and began eating it. "Make your own food, Jake. And, didn't you call ME a lazy bum this morning?" I said when I noticed him waitching me with a wide eyes, a smug smile had slipped on my lips. "Yes, I did. And I was right, you ARE a lazy bum." He stated as he sat down and began eating his turkey sandwhich that he had made while talking to me. We ate in relative silence, then I got up and put my plate in the sink, and Jacob copyed my movements again. I went back over by the door to retrieve my book-bag, and Jacob went into the front room to get his books. I made it up the stairs first, ran into my room and sat on my bed. I smirked when Jacob came in and frowned at me. "You get the floor! Ha, that's what you get for being mean." I stuck my tounge out at him in a childish manner, making him chuckle a bit as he sat cross-legged on the floor.

Oh, how I loved that sound, words cannot tell.

We worked in silence together, I enjoyed the silence, but I wasn't sure if he did. He wasn't usually so quiet. It was...different.

I frowned when I heard movement, and when I glanced up, Jacob wasn't sitting on the floor anymore.

I felt the bed dip and I made a quiet yelp, catching my books before they could slid off my lap. I whipped my head around to look at Jacob with wide, questioning eyes. He had a soft smirk set on his features. I narrowed my eyes at him, "What?" I whispered. "Nothing much." He replyed, touching his hand to my cheek, he moved his thumb across the soft skin and looked me in eye. I couldn't help myself, I turned my face into his palm, closed my eyes and enjoyed the warmth it offered. I sighed when he moved his hand away and placed his lips on mine. My eyes flew open and I gasped, jerking away, my books slipping from my lap. "What's wrong?" Jacob asked, concern and hurt evident in his brown eyes. "W-what are y-you doing?" I managed to get out past my fumbled tounge. "Well, I was trying to kiss you." He lifted one side of his mouth in an effort to smile. "...but why?" I asked him, shaking my head, trying to clear it a bit. Trying to make what was happening make sense.

"You want to know why?" He asked me, moving a bit away from me. At my nod he continued, "Because your beautiful, your kind, your funny, and your...perfect." He ended in a whisper, looking passed me and out my window. "I Imprinted on you, Alex." He stated, moving his gaze to mine again. I saw a deep emotion that I couldn't quite place in his gaze.

"But I thought you loved Bella." I whispered, looking down to hide what I was sure was running through my eyes. "I thought I did too, until I saw you." He smiled at me. "...you just rhymed." I said laughing a bit. "THAT'S one of the things I find irresistible about you." He stated grabbing my chin, making me look into his eyes again. I smiled at him, and he showed me one of his famous Jacob smiles.

This time, I didn't stop him when he touched his lips to mine.

This time, I encouraged him.
