Soulmate - Chapter Two - Saved
Yay! Chapter 2!!!For most of the ride I had my eyes open looking at the stars. It was a full moon with no clouds. So I saw them perfectly. I love looking at the stars. They always clam me down no matter what mood I’m in. Right now I’m afraid this is the last time I will ever look at them again. I still didn’t know where we were going but it was somewhere with no people. Since I hadn’t heard a car for at least twenty minutes. I was surprised I hadn’t bled to death yet. The truck came to a sudden stop causing me to slide forward and hit my head on the back. I softly groaned praying my father didn’t hear. I heard the door slam and footsteps begin to walk this way. He stumbled a few times but finally made it. I panicked at the thought of him burying me. I definitely couldn’t escape that. He picked me up again and started to walk away from the road. After five minutes he stopped, “It’s so much better this way” he said happily. I could smell the alcohol in his breathe. It made me cringe inside. Seconds later he dropped me on to the ground and walked, well stumbled away. On the bright side he didn’t throw me into a river or bury me. I heard the truck start up and drive quickly away. I was now afraid I was going to die. I opened my eyes to see he dumped me in a forest. Great I now was left to be eaten by some wild animal. I groaned and tried to move but found that it hurt too much. The pain was starting to come and it was going to hurt. I really wish that now he shot me. I saw no reason to yell for help when nobody was on the road or in this forest. My father had made sure of that. I groaned and rolled off my side. Since it was the most painful. I was annoyed that I couldn’t see the stars and by the fact I let this happed to me. I should have ran away a long time ago. Better yet I should have stayed in my room instead of coming out and trying to get dinner. I could live without one meal right?
I sat there thinking for another couple of minutes before I heard a rustling sound. I slowly turned my head in the direction it came from. It was coming from some bushes and there was no wind. I felt like I was in one of those scary movies except I couldn’t run. In fact I barley had enough energy left to keep my eyes open. I was still shocked I hadn’t bled to death yet. I wondered what animal it was. Maybe a bear or a mountain lion. I’m dead. Quite suddenly some guy came out from the bushes looking totally surprised by me laying here. I was trying to stay awake but failing miserbly. The guy slowly came over. Never taking his eyes off me. He finally knelt down beside me and shook his head. “Poor girl. Wondered how she died.” His voice was extremely soft and had a certain richness to it that I have never heard before and his skin somehow seamed to glow in the moonlight or was extreamly pale. Hold up, he thought I was dead? Do I look dead? Ok so maybe I actually look dead and am very close to being dead but I’m not yet. Not by a long shot in my book. I opened my eyes halfway, “I’m not dead yet. Idiot.” I whispered annoyed. He must have jumped back three feet totally caught off guard. “How are you…? Never mind.” He walked back over to me and put two fingers on my wrist. Dang he was cold. “Your coming with me” he said after a few minutes. I wanted to yell at him. I didn’t care if he saved me or not. Why wouldn’t I go with him? Did it look like I could fight back. I didn’t care if he was some delusional serial killer. I would rather go with him then stay here in this forest to be killed by who knows what. I nodded and he picked me up. As my eyes shut again I felt myself moving too fast but I couldn’t pay anymore intention since I fell into darkness.
