“You look almost identical to your mother.” Kuronue said, taking a step towards the stairs. Bambi took a step back. The scalpel shaped blade shot out again, heading straight for Bambi. Out of instinct, Bambi threw her hands up, and the blade shot to the right. “I don’t recall your mother being able to do that.” Kuronue said, his silver eyes observing the girl curiously.

And I don’t recall anything about you having silver eyes in my parent’s journal. Bambi thought to herself, but she didn’t reply as she turned around and dashed up the stairs. Bambi made it up the stairs and threw open the door that led to Trisha and Todd’s room.

“About time, I was getting bored.” Kuronue said, stepping out of a shadowy corner.

“Oh, so sorry to keep you waiting,” Bambi said sarcastically, slowly inching her way to the window. Kuronue’s eyes followed her, he lifted his hand up and the scalpel shaped blade shot out again. Bambi deflected it, waving her hand and the window threw open. Bambi didn’t hesitate as she jumped out of the two story house, landing only feet away from the Chevelle. Bambi ran over to the driver’s side, pulling out the key, she locked all the doors and started the engine, driving out of the driveway.

Bambi was on the road, about to get away, when the car was suddenly forced to a stop, the wheels were trying screeching against the pavement as Bambi pressed harder on the gas pedal. She looked in her review mirror to see Kuronue standing there, tugging on the string that the car was attached to.

“Alright,” Bambi said, throwing the car into reverse “I’ll go back to you bitch.” She stomped on the gas pedal again, the car flying backwards towards Kuronue.

Kuronue knew that Bambi wasn’t going to stop, so he jumped out of the way, releasing her car.

Bambi quickly threw the car back into drive and sped away, heading straight for Bobby’s house.

Bambi made it to Bobby’s house and quickly got out of the car. She ran for the door, but right when she was about to throw it open, an-ever-so-familiar scalpel shaped blade flung past her, almost decapitating her. Bambi quickly turned around, unsurprised to see Kuronue standing there, twirling a red pendent around his finger.

Bambi threw open the door and ran inside, she ran down the basement steps and towards the panic room, once again the blade shot past her, catching her off guard, it sliced her left shoulder.

The large, iron doors to Bobby’s panic room were in site. Waving her hands, the iron doors flung open. Bambi glanced behind her to see Kuronue right behind her, she picked up speed and slid into the panic room, ignoring the pain in her shoulder. Kuronue stopped outside of the panic room, the scalpel blade appeared in his hand, as he threw it, but the blade came short outside of the doorway, going limp.

Kuronue looked around, if he was confused, he hid it well. He turned around, and was about to walk away, but was stopped by an invisible force. Kuronue turned around, glaring at Bambi. “What the hell?” He asked.

Bambi smirked a bit and pointed to the ceiling. Kuronue looked up and sighed frustrated. “Clever, a devil trap, and judging by the fact that you haven’t left yet, this door is your only escape.” Kuronue observed aloud, a smirk forming on his lips.

“Maybe,” Bambi said as she grabbed a small, raggy bag. She went to the bookshelf scanning the books quickly; she grabbed an old, lavender journal, and an old black journal, placing both in the bag.

“What are those?” Kuronue asked, not expecting Bambi to answer, which she didn’t. But what did surprise him, was when she pulled out an old gun box with symbols. “The Cult,” he said. “You could take a shot at me, considering I’m what stand between you and freedom.”

Bambi made a face as she placed the box in the bag, not wanting to admit she doesn’t completely trust her aim, considering that there are only three bullets left. She looked around the room, there were bookshelves full of old books along the pure iron walls, a desk and a crappy bed. Bambi slowly turned around and looked at Kuronue.

“I’m aware that hunters don’t do so hot trapped inside walls.” Kuronue said, still smirking. He just keeps talking.

Bambi sighed, knowing that she’d have to speak eventually. “Neither do demons.” She retorted, sitting on the ground, placing the bag next to her. She pulled out her mom’s lavender journal, knowing that her mother was more specific in her writings. Bambi’s mother wrote down every detail she could.

Bambi flipped to the last entry, the one about busting Kuronue and Yoko.

Yoko:

Height: about 7ft. Eye color: gold. Hair: Silver – Can control plants, fox demon, likes to use a whip with thorns on it.

Kuronue:

Height: about 6’4, Eye color: Bright blue Hair: Black – Has a pendent that can hypnotize, and has a scalpel shaped throw-blade

Bambi sighed, putting the journal away, her head perked up when she heard footsteps slowly coming down the stairs. Kuronue looked over his shoulder, his smirk grew as Yoko stood at the bottom of the stairs, looking around the basement dully then looking to his partner.

Bambi silently cursed to herself, grabbing the back and slowly crawling to a corner, hoping Yoko didn’t see her.

“I see you managed to get yourself caught in a devil trap.” Yoko said in a deep smooth voice.

“I’m not the only one trapped here.” Kuronue answered. There was a loud whip crack, Bambi slowly and quietly got to her feet, being careful to stay hidden in the corner. “Mary’s daughter is in this room,” Kuronue said, nodding his head towards Bobby’s panic room. Yoko looked at the room, a look of disgust was on his face. There was another whip crack, this time the whip landed closer to Bambi, causing her to jump out a bit, exposing her.

Yoko didn’t hesitate to use his whip again, it wrapped around her left arm tightly, the thorns digging into her skin. Yoko pulled the whip, pulling Bambi out of the room. The scalpel shaped blade shot from Kuronue’s direction again, putting a huge slice in the girl’s side.

Bambi let out a small scream of pain. The whip released her, causing her to stagger back a bit. Yoko was about to strike with the whip again, but Bambi waved her hand, causing the whip to fly back in Yoko’s direction. Not wanting to waste any time, Bambi slung the bag over her shoulder, grabbing her gun and shot Kuronue in the chest. She knew it wouldn’t kill him, she then shot Yoko in the shoulder. The bullets hardly phased them, but Bambi kept shooting at them.

Yoko slashed his whip again, hitting her right leg, right above her knee. Bambi used the wall to hold herself up. “She has The Cult.” Kuronue said, striking Bambi again, hitting her chest, missing her heart.

Yoko looked at the bloody girl, interest lingering in his eyes. He looked at her bag, knowing that The Cult would more than likely be in there. He lifted his wrist, about to strike again, when a thick black smoke filled the basement. The smell was strong enough to make Bambi cough, it smelt like burning flesh.

Two arms wrapped around Bambi, supporting her up, before Bambi could panic, a familiar female voice spoke in her ear. “Come on Bambi, lets get out of here.”

Bambi recognized that the voice belonging to Sandra, a medium C class fire demon, who has helped Bambi and her brother, Eric out a few times. Bambi is also aware that Sandra has a crush on her brother.

Sandra helped Bambi up the stairs and to the Chevelle. Bambi pushed herself away from her demon friend and got in on the driver’s side, grabbing her keys. Sandra got in on the passenger’s side.

“What are you thinking? You’re in no condition to drive!” Sandra argued, but it was too late, the hunter had started the car up and was speeding down the road and heading for the highway.

“Eric and Bobby are staying in the first hotel listed under C in the phone book.” Was all Bambi said as she drove; she took slow deep breaths, trying to ignore the light-headed feeling she was getting from the blood loss.

Finally, the blood loss was getting the best of her, she slowed the car down and pulled over on the high way. “Sandra…you take over.” Was all Bambi said before passing out in the driver’s seat.

Sandra sighed as she got out of the car and got in on the driver’s side, gently pushing Bambi out of her way. She took one last glance at her friend’s sleeping form before speeding down the highway to the motel Eric and Bobby were at.
