Chapter 7

Your mother got home around noon 1:00 P.M.

She was grinning from ear to ear.

"Hi mom!" you greeted her as she came through the door.

You helped take some grocery bags from her hands and carried them to the kitchen.

"Hi hun! How are you doing?" she asked.

"Better..." you smiled at her.

"That's great! Oh...I left something in the car...be right back!"

Saying that your mother hurried back outside.

You stared after her with curiosity.

'Strange...she doesn't act like that unless...'

A thought hit your head.

'She doesn't act like that unless she's hiding something! And, the last time she acted like that, she and dad got me that really awesome gift for my last birthday! I wonder...'

You thought about that duel disk you always wanted...

Could...it be?

When your mother got back in the house, she went straight to her room.

"Hey (your/name), can you help me put up the groceries? I need to take care of something important real quick!" she called.

"Sure mom." you answered, smile still on your face.

You had this happy giddy feeling inside...

If what was going on was what you thought...and you were going to get a duel disk...THAT WOULD BE SO AMAZING!!

You could enter the duelist tournament! You could FINALLY see your cards in virtual form up close and not have to always watch it on T.V.!! YOU were the one that people would be wathing now!

And...you could show your dueling skills to Yugi...

Maybe...you would even face him in the tournament too...WOW.

Your mother came back smiling. "Thanks hun. I can take it from here." She got the orange juice out of one of the bags and put it in the refrigerator.

"Oh, okay mom." you answered, and then a thought came to your head. "Hey mom, can I go to the library? There is this new book that came out, and I was wondering if they had it..."

Your mother looked over at you from putting cans in one of the cabinets.

"Sure. Would you like me to drive you there when I'm done?"

"Oh, it's okay mom. It's right down the street, I can walk. I also wanted to get a better look of the neighborhood..."

Your mother smiled. "Okay, just be careful. If anything happens, call me on your cell phone and I'll be there right away!"

"Got it mom, I'll be fine." You replied and made your way out the door.

"Love you (your/name)!" your mother called.

"Love you too mom! Be right back!" you replied as you shut the door behind you.

(At The Library)

You walked into the library and looked around.

It was huge.

You found the front desk and went up to it.

"Hello miss. What can I help you with today?" the lady at the front smiled.

"Oh, I was wondering if you had the new book 'What Your Dreams Mean, Egyptian Visions' by the author Ishizu Ishtar?"

The lady smiled and went to the computer to see if they had it. "That book is quite popular. We had an order sent out to get 3 more copies of it...let's see...ah! Here we go!" the lady turned towards you and pointed to a shelf that was labled 'New Releases', "Someone just returned thier copy in this morning! We have it over on that shelf! Be sure to get it quickly before someone else picks it up!"

You thanked her and huried over to the shelf.

You picked it up and went back over to the desk.

She took the book. "Alrighty. Now, do you have a library card?"

"Oh, no I don't." you answered. "I just moved here..."

"Don't worry! I can make you one right now! Just please fill out your name and address on this order form..." she beamed and handed you a piece of paper with a pen.

You thanked her and put down all of your necessary information.

The lady took the paper, smiled, and said she would be right back.

She went into the back room, was gone about four minutes, and came back handing you your card.

"Here you are! You're all set!"

"Thank you very much." you smiled.

You looked at the card, then handed it back to her and she scanned it with the computer scanner.

While the computer was annalyzing your data, she turned to you and said "Oh, I do not know if you already knew this or not, but that new popular author 'Ishizu Ishtar' is going to be here for a book signing Saturday!"

"Oh wow, really?" you asked.

"She sure is! And with the way her books are selling, I can bet this place is going to be PACKED!!"

The computer made a beeping noise and printed out a reciept.

The lady took it, then stamped the book you checked out, and handed you both the recipt and book.

"Your book is due a week from today! Have a happy reading!" she smiled.

"Thank you, have a nice day!" you called as you headed for the doors.

"You too sweetie!" the lady called back smiling.

(Walking Back To Your House)

'It's so cold today...' you thought as you shivered.

You opened the book and looked at the back of it to see if it had a picture of the author.

You wondered who this 'Ishizu Ishtar' was...

When you saw the picture of the lady your eyes widened and you stopped your walking.

For some reason...she looked very familiar...

Like...you saw her somewhere before...

You thought for a moment.

'I wonder...wait!!'

She looked just like that woman in your dream who was named "Isis"!

This was so strange...

You looked harder at her picture...

There was this feeling of saddness that went through you...like you lost and missed one of your best friends...

You paused.

In the dream, you and that "Isis" were apparently good friends but, that was just a dream, and why would you feel that way about Ishizu? Some person you never met and were never friends with?

You never met this 'Ishizu Ishtar'...yet...it felt like you had.

Like you knew her forever...

This made NO SENSE.

(Back At Your House)

When you arrived back, you found your mother in the living room with your father.

'He must have gotten home early from work...' you thought.

When your parents noticed you walk through the door, they turned towards you and smiled.

"(your/name), we have a suprise for you..." your mother grinned.

You paused. "You do? What...?" you asked.

In your mind, you just knew what they were going to say.

You had to chew on your lip to contain your excitement. 'Oh, please be what I think it is...!' you thought.

Your dad pulled out a box from behind his back.

"Happy early birthday (your/name)."

Your mouth dropped.

Right there was...a DUEL DISK.

"We were going to save it for you, but since that duelist tournament is going to begin, we thought we'd give you it now, so you would be able to enter." Your mother smiled.

Your mouth was still wide open.

A huge smile then came across your face and you squealed and hugged your parents.

"Oh thank you!! Thank you SO MUCH!!!"

You were SO very happy right now.

Your parents laughed at how you were practically jumping up and down.

This day...was GREAT!!

"Well, show us how it works!" your dad chuckled.

"Yeah (your/name)!! I wanna see!!" your mother laughed.

You smiled and replied "Okay!!"

You went to your room, got out your duel monster cards, went back to the living room and opened the box.

As you held the duel disk in your hands, you were in awe.

At last...you had a duel disk..of your OWN.

Your parents watched as you fastened the duel disk around your arm.

You inserted your deck and watched as the disk lit up and showed your lifepoints.

You smiled at your parents.

"Okay, watch this!"

You drew a card from the top of your deck, which happend to actually be one of your favorites as luck would have it, and you summoned it.

"Go (favorite/monster card)!!"

Your parents' eyes went wide as they saw the card come to life in front of thier eyes.

"Honey! Look at that!!" your mother gasped.

"Wow..." your dad breathed "It looks so real. The virtual technology they have these days...amazing!"

You looked at your virtual favorite monster card and practicaly squealed.

This was SO COOL!!

...

You froze.

'Wait a minute...' you thought.

You remembered what Kaiba said on that interview on T.V. ...

"The tournament will start in four days..."

How many days had it been since that day?

One...two...

OH NO.

"I have to sign up right away!!" you shouted startling your parents.

You rushed to the computer, turned it on, waited impatiently for it to start up, looked up where the nearest "Second Duelist Tournament Registration Office" was, and rushed out the door calling back to your parents,

"Be right back!!!"

Your parents stared after you blinking...

(Yugi's House...)

Yugi sighed as he settled on his bed looking up at the ceiling.

"I've been thinking about her all day..." he breathed. "It's like...as the days pass from when I first heard about and saw her...my feelings...they're growing stronger..."

He blushed at saying those words.

He looked down at his Millinium Puzzle.

Atem had not come out of the Millinium Puzzle yet...

'He must be thinking as hard as I am about this...' Yugi thought.

He sighed again and then got up from his bed to get a drink from the refrigerator.

"Ah! Yugi! I didn't hear you come in!" Yugi's grandfather smiled drying off the glasses he just washed in the sink.

"Oh, yeah, I just got back a little while ago grandpa..." Yugi smiled.

He opend the fridge and pulled out a drink.

"Hmmm...are you okay Yugi? You seem like your dazed..."

"Huh? Oh, no, I'm alright grandpa..." Yugi smiled taking a sip of his drink.

Grandpa Muto stared at his grandson for a bit curiously and then got a smile on his face.

"Is it maybe...a girl?"

Yugi almost spitted out his drink.

He swallowed hard and beat his chest with his fist so the drink would go down.

"Wha? N-no!! I mean...ah...uh...!!!" a bright blush was on his face.

Grandpa Muto laughed.

"Ahhh, you remind me of myself Yugi! When I met your grandmother, I was the exact same way!" he chuckled and began to put the glasses up in the cabinet.

"Well...I uh..." Yugi's blush got redder.

Yugi's grandfather turned towards Yugi with his eyes sparkling.

"You should invite her over! I would love to meet the young lady! With the way she has your head in the clouds, I have a feeling she is going to be my grand-daughter in law!!"

"...!!"

Yugi felt like his face was going to burst!

"Well, I don't really know her...she's a new student at my school...and...!!" He was SO embarressed!

"I see...so you are watching her from afar then, my boy? That was just like me...it took me so long just to say "Hi" to your grandmother!!" Grandpa Muto laughed. "Oh, by the way Yugi..." he turned towards his grandson "Does she like Duel Monsters? You should show her the gameshop if she does!!"

"I...don't know if she does...I hardly said two words to her...she fainted at school..." Yugi's face got a worried and concerned look.

"Oh the poor dear!" Grandpa Muto gasped "Yugi, I know! You should get her some get well flowers! That'll make her feel special!"

Yugi nodded "Me and the rest of the gang are all going to go over to her house later today to deliver some get well gifts..."

"How very nice." Grandpa Muto smiled. "And, tell you what Yugi, when you invite her over, I will let the lovely lady have her pick of any card she wants from the gameshop for free!"

Yugi's eyes widened "Wow grandpa...that's so nice..."

"Well, I might as well make the dear feel welcome to the Muto family since I have a gut feeling she will soon be part of it!" Yugi's grandfather winked and chuckled.

"Ahh! I...GRANDPA!!" Once again Yugi's red blush was back full force.

Grandpa Muto laughed heartily.

Yugi closed his eyes and scratched the back of his head; his blush turning pink.

He then Froze.

His eyes widened.

"Oh no!!" he shouted.

Grandpa Muto jumped.

"What is it Yugi?"

Yugi turned to his grandfather "I need to register for the tournament! I can't believe I forgot!"

He then rushed out the door.

"Be right back grandpa!!"

(Not Too Far Away...)

"Ah...ah...ah...CHOOOOO!!!!!!" Joey sneezed.

"Man Joey! Cover your nose next time!!" Tristen yelled.

"Hey! It's not my fault! It just came outta no where!" Joey wiped his nose with his sleeve. "Man, the weather has been crazy these past few days! First it's hot, then it's cold. Then it's hot again...and now it...AH-CHOOO!! It's cold!!"

"Well, don't look at me. I don't know the reason why..." Tristan wrapped his jacket more tightly around himself. "We wouldn't have to be out here that long, and could be at (your/name)'s house delivering her gifts already if you didn't forget to register for the tournament earlier!"

Joey and Tristan were standing in line outside the registration office.
The line was very long leading all the way outside...

Joey glared at Tristan. "Hey! Iv'e been busy! My teachers have just been piling up all the homework this year! It's not fair!!"

Tristan rolled his eyes "It wouldn't be so hard if you would just study once in awhile!"

"I do study! It's just that I still don't get it!" Joey hollerd.

"Joey? Tristan? What are you guys doing here? I thought we were all going to meet up at my house later with Tea', Bakura, and Duke and then head over to (your/name)'s..." a familiar voice said out of nowhere.

Joey and Tristan turned around.

"Oh, hey Yug!" Joey grinned, then sniffled wiping his dripping nose.

"You got a cold there Joey?" Yugi asked.

"Yeah...I'll be fine though...it should go away in a couple of days..." Joey sniffled again.

"He forgot to sign up for the tournament..." Tristen stated "We're waiting to register right now, and then we are gonna head to your house...hey, Yugi, what are you doing here?"

Yugi looked up at Tristan smiling sheepishly "I...forgot to sign up for the tournament too..."

Tristan and Joey blinked.

"Seriously?" Tristan asked.

"See?! Yug forgot too! I don't see you giving him a hard time about it!" Joey grumbled.

"That's because Yugi has a lot going on right now! With the Millenium Puzzle appearing again, and Atem being back and all of that...I'd be suprised if the poor guy can even concetrate on the tournament duels! What's your excuse?" Tristan asked annoyed.

"Well...uh...my homework! I told you already!"

Tristan shook his head "I swear sometimes Joey I just want to...ARGH."

"Oh shaddup! Your just mad because you want to see your girlfriend again so badly and this is taking up your time from seeing her already!"

Tristan's eyes went wide and he blushed.

Both him and Joey didn't notice the flash of irritation that appeared in Yugi's eyes...

"What?! I..that's not the reason!!"

"Suuure it's not..." Joey grinned slyly.

"Joey..." Tristan started warningly.

"Tristan and (your/name) sitting in a tree! K-I-S-S-I and-"

"That's it! Your gonna get it!!"

Tristan tackled Joey to the ground and they began to wrestle.

"Take this!!"

"Take that!!"

"Ow! Get your foot out of my face idiot!"

"MY foot?! Get your fingers outta my nose!!"

"Huh?! How'd they get in there?!?!"

"Just how should I know?!?!"

Yugi watched his friends with a sweatdrop.

"Oh boy..."

Everybody else in the line looked at the three high school students like they were insane...

Yugi tried to hide his face in his hand.

This was so embarrassing...

(Back At Yugi's House)

After Yugi, Tristan, and Joey signed up for the tournament (Tristan decided he wanted to sign up too for the heck of it), they all headed back to Yugi's game shop house.

Tea', Duke, and Bakura were waiting for thier friends in the front.

Bakura was the first to spot them.

"Hey! They're here! Hi guys!" he called, waving to his friends.

Duke and Tea' looked over to them.

"What happend to those two...?" Duke asked looking at Tristan and Joey with scratches and bruises all over them.

"Who knows...they probably had another one of thier squabbles..." Tea' answered, she then turned to Yugi "Hey Yugi! Your grandpa told us you forgot to sign up for the tournament! By the looks of it, Joey must have forgot too..."

Yugi, Tristan, and Joey finished walking up to thier friends.

"Yeah..." Yugi smiled sheepishly. "I saw Joey and Tristan doing the same thing when I got there, and then they kinda got into an argument and then, well...you know..." he laughed softly.

"Obviously. Those two can be so immature..." Tea' rolled her eyes smiling.

Tristan and Joey glared at one another.

"He started it!!"

"No, HE did!!"

"Oh will you two just knock it off?!" Tea' yelled annoyed.

"Wait a minute...your going to enter the tournamet too, Tristan?"
Duke asked in disbelief.

"Huh? Yeah...I thought I would give it a try. It might be fun..." Tristan answered shrugging and scratching the back of his head.

"So, that makes five of us then. Me, Tea', Joey, Yugi, and Tristan." Bakura smiled.

"Yeah...hey, when did you and Tea' sign up for it?" Joey asked.

"I signed up yesterday..." Tea' answered.

"I signed up yesterday too. "Bakura smiled.

"Geez. What are you guys? Perfectionists or something?" Joey mumbled.

"Oh be quiet Joey. Your just lazy." Tea' stated.

"Hey! I am NOT lazy!" Joey protested. "I just...don't like doing a lot of stuff...that's all..."

Everybody laughed.

"Sure you don't..." they all said.

It was so fun to pick on Joey...

Tea' paused.

"Wait...where's her gift?"

Everybody froze.

"I thought you were going to get it Tea'..." Duke said.

"I thought Tristan was going to get it..." Tea' looked at Tristan.

"No, I thought Joey was going to get it...he was the one that suggested it in the first place!" Tristan answered.

"Heyyy! I thought Tristan was gonna get it! He IS the one with the crush on her after all..." Joey pointed out.

"ARGH! Joey!! Shut up!!"

"Sooo, let me get this straight...NO ONE has gotten her a gift yet?" Tea' said flatly.

Everybody shook thier heads 'No'.

Tea' slapped her forhead.

"Oh for the love of..."

(A Little While Later...)

Everybody was walking towards (your/name)'s house after they got out of the local gift shop.

"Hey! I wanna hold the gifts!"

"Too bad! You'd probably just drop them and ruin them!"

"No I won't Tristan! Now, give 'em over!!"

"Wha-? Joey you fool! Stop trying to take them! Your gonna make me drop them!!"

"Then give them to me!!"

"NO!!"

"You two...knock it off...NOW!!!" Tea' hollerd.

"But-!!"

"He started-!!"

"ARGH! Here! Yugi, you hold them!!" Tea' grabbed the presents from Tristan and shoved them in Yugi's hands.

"There! Now the both of you won't hold them!!"

Tristan and Joey pouted crossing her arms.

"She's like a stingy old lady..." Joey mumbled.

"You got that right..." Tristan agreed.

"What did you say?!?!" Tea' yelled stopping her walking and turning around with fire appearing all around her.

Joey and Tristan huddled together in fear.

"AAAAHHHH!! SCAREY!!!" they screamed.

Bakura was looking at the directions Tristan got from the police station to (your/name)'s house.

"Let's see...we take a left here and then...wow Yugi. Her house is not far from yours..." Bakura stated.

"Really?" Yugi asked holding the flowers, balloon, chocolates, and get well card for (your/name).

"Yeah. See for yourself..." Bakura gave the directions to Yugi.

"Wow..." Yugi blinked and then gave the directions back to Bakura.

"Okay...her house is...right here!" Bakura stopped in front of a house.

"Nice house..." Joey said.

They all went up to the door step and Bakura ringed the door bell.

A woman answered the door.

"Oh, hello there! Who are you all?" she asked suprised and then smiled.

"Hello miss, we are all friends of your daughters' new friend Tristan she met at school, and we saw when she fainted and just got her some get well gifts." Bakura smiled.

"How nice!!" the lady smiled and then turned around calling "(your/name)! You have some friends here from school!!"

She turned around back to everybody and said "Please come in! It's so cold outside!"

Everyone thanked her and went inside as the lady led them into the living room.

(In Your Room)

You were playing with your duel disk, summoning more of your cards.

You had just got back from the local duelist registration office and were so happy that you got there at that moment and not later.

When you came outside after you were registered, you saw the huge line that was behind you.

It looked like you were not the only person who forgot to register earlier...

You paused as you heard your mother call your name and say 'you had friends from school' here to see you.

That was strange.

You were not at school for even half a day, and the only person you really met and talked to was that 'Tristan' guy...

You never told him where you lived...

You wondered who was at your house.

When you went to open the door to your room, you felt your heart beat fast.

For some reason...you had a gut feeling you knew who was here.

Could it be...? Yugi...?

'That's impossible...why would he be here? At my house? He doesn't know where I live either...' you thought

When you opened the door you saw your mother standing in front of it ready to knock.

"Oh." she blinked "I thought you didn't hear me. You have friends waiting for you in the living room, hun." she smiled.

"I...what?" you asked baffled.

"They seem so nice!" Your mother said as she was leading you to the living room.

"Mom...I haven't made any newfriends yet...who?"

When you saw who was sitting on your couch you froze.

Right there...looking right at you...was YUGI MUTO.

"How...wha-?" you whispered softly as your eyes went wide open shocked.

I owe you guys A LOT for me not updating faster, so, since it was also the holidays, and I am FINALLY on Christmas Vacation (YAY!!), I just HAD to give a REALLY nice and good update as a late present!! Be expecting more good quick updates girls!! Hooray for vacation!!! Also, are you wondering why the weather is so odd in here? Could it be a side effect that has to do with...'The Egyptian Queen's Awakening?' -gasp- And, just WHAT is that you ask? Haha! Tristan: Aren't you forgetting something?

Tristan: -smacks his forehead- Hellloooo? Vacation? Holiday? Present? Christmas?!

Kalberry: I don't get it...

Tristan: -smacks Kalberry upside the head-

Kalberry: Ohhhhh yeah!! I HOPE YOU ALL HAD A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS GIRLS!!!!! And, to those who don't celebrate Christmas, well, I HOPE YOU HAD A HAPPY WHATEVER HOLIDAY YOU CELEBRATE!!! ^__^

Tristan: Took you long enough...

Kalberry: -pouts- Oh shaddup!! I've been REALLY busy lately!! Christmas shopping, me and my parents going to my grandparents, helping putting up Christmas decorations...cleaning my room... -_-

Tristan: That's no excuse! Now, get to writing so me and that cute girl will go out and then get married!!

Kalberry: -smiles- You got it!! ^__^

Tristan: -gasps- Really?! YAY!!

Kalberry: Haha! Just kidding! ^__^
