I recently started rereading the One Piece Manga series, I was like... four hundred chapters behind XD Anyway, before I had never gotten past Arlong's saga... so you see how far behind I was, the four hundred chapters was no exaggeration. Anyway, this is going to be my first One Piece Fanfic on here so... hope it's less suckish than my first one on Quizzyland. Aaaaand... I don't know much about Robin's personality, so she may disappear sometimes because I dunno how to write her.
Pairing: SanjiOC
Place: Port Paradise, a Spring Island that I made up.
Rating: T, though it may go up due to plot development.
"Hey, Sanji!" Luffy called to his cook as he spotted him walking away from the Merry Go into the forest. He waited until he had the cook's attention before continuing, "where are you going?"
"Into town, so I can get some food." Sanji called back, taking a draw on his cigarette. "After you idiots got us kicked out of the town, we're gonna need some food to last us the month it'll take the lockpost to adjust."
"I thought you were getting food when we got chased out?" Luffy asked, cocking his head to the side.
"I wasn't able to because you and that stupid grass-head got us chucked out within five minutes of being there!" Sanji snapped before turning on his heel and heading into the trees in the direction of the town again.
"Could you get me some more map paper while you're out, Sanji?" Nami called after him.
"Of course, Nami dear!" Sanji replied, spinning back out of the forest with an elegant bow. "What do you want for dinner? Any special requests?"
"Meat!" Luffy's standard demand caused the chef to roll his eyes to the heavens.
"Something exotic." Nami winked which set the cook's mind and heart racing.
"Anything tasty!" Usopp joined in.
"Don't be silly Ussop! Anything Sanji cooks is tasty." Robin smiled at the blushing cook over the rail.
"Haha... thank you, my dear Robin!" Sanji grinned and rubbed the back of his neck in embarrassment.
"You going to keep standing there and risk lighting the forest on fire, or go get some crap to cook, stupid chef?" Zoro's lazy voice taunted him as he peered over the edge of the rail.
"What are you talking about, you grass headed bastard!" Sanji snarled back at the offensive swordsman. "It's your fault I could get the food earlier!"
"Just get going, we're hungry..." Zoro said, waving off the cook's anger with a yawn.
"I don't take orders form y-"
"Sanji... I'm hungry...!" Nami whined, hoping to stop the brewing fight before it started.
"Yes, Nami dear! I'll go right away and get some delicious food for you!" The love-struck cook declared before running off, forgetting his spat with Zoro. He soon found the trail that lead to town and followed it in through the trees, they were on a spring island where the sun filtered through the new green leaves with gentle warmth and beauty. He was dressed in his usual neat black suit with blue tie, but had the sudden premonition that it would be nice to feel the sun through his shirt and that his tie was suddenly feeling uncomfortable. He removed his jacket and tied it around his waist by the sleeves. 'I'll iron out the wrinkles later.' He thought, loosening his tie and lighting up a new cigarette. He stretched luxuriously and inhaled a deep breath of Spring air. "Ah... this is an island I could get used to." He muttered, watching his smoke drift lazily through the filtered sunlight.
He soon came up to the town, a sign was posted that read: NO SMOKING. NO DRINKING. NO GAMBLING. NO FIGHTING.
"Ah... oops, forgot..." Sanji muttered, crushing out his cigarette under the watchful eye of the gate guard. It was the second time that he had read the warning sign and the second cigarette that he had too throw away.
"You may now enter into Port Paradise." The guard broke into a sudden smile.
"Thanks." Sanji let the edge of his mouth flick up in a slight return smile as he passed the guard. A swirl of color and sound met him as he broke into Magnificent Main the central street of Port Paradise. People danced gaily from shop to shop and vendors smiled at their customers as they gave them a little more than they paid for. "It's a lot different when they're chasing you out of town..." Sanji said to himself as he looked around for the things he needed.
It will get better, I swear! This is just the first slow, short chapter.
