There is something about the way the ground looks after a fresh snowfall. The snows makes a beautiful white blanket that covers everything, I love it. I was walking on the trail that leads to the pond behind my house when I bumped into someone. My ice skates fell and when I went to pick them up they did too and our heads bumped. “Ow…” We both said simultaneously, I noticed that the voice belong to a male. Then he laughed and I bent down again and grabbed my skates, but the lace came undone causing one to hit his foot. He jumped and grabbed his foot, but quickly got his composure.
“We aren’t off to a very good start are we?” He asked handing me my skate. I opened my mouth to reply when my walkie-talkie started gobbling. He just started laughing as I fumbled to find it, did I mention it was dark out? By the time I found it I heard my brother’s voice yelling ‘Peyton…Peyton! You better answer.’ I just answered back sweetly ‘I am not there yet Wyatt, I’ll be back later.’ With that said I trudged off through the snow forgetting all about the mystery man, well until I heard him yell “Wait up!” Though he quickly added please so I stopped and turned around. He caught up with me and then extended his hand “Hi, I’m Nick.” “I’m Peyton, nice to meet you.” I shook his hand, but was a little nervous about what he was doing on this trail at night. I was pretty sure he wasn’t going to hurt me, but you never know these days. “So what brings you out here?” I asked glancing around unsure of the answer.
“Well, when I was younger I used to swim in the pond down there and I just wanted to see it again.” He said; I was taken aback. Here I was freaking out thinking he was gonna hurt me and he was only here to reminisce about the past. Whew!
“So you grew up here?” I asked feeling the fear evaporate from me.
“Yeah, we uh moved away a few years ago, but we’re back now so it’s pretty cool.” He said sounding unsure of himself.
“Oh what lot is yours?” I asked.
“The one next door to Ms. Alice.” He chuckled.
“Wow, you’re gonna be living in that house?” I asked, the house in between Ms. Alice’s and mine was empty so this guy was gonna be my new neighbor.
“Yeah, the good thing is she’s really nice and she won’t have to babysit us anymore.”
“Us?” I pressed being curious.
“Yeah, I have three other brothers.”
“Whoa, I feel for your Mom.” I said laughing a little he did too. “Ms. Alice babysat me too, years ago though. She has to have assistance now though I think her son lives with her. Uh, you wanna come to the pond with me though? I have a curfew and I wanted to practice tonight.”
“Yeah sure, lead the way.” He said as I started walking. We got there and the way the moon glistened on the frozen pond, it looked marvelous. I did my routine, well except I fell on my backside and Nick came running over to me.
“You okay?” He asked.
“Yes, I’m fine, thanks.” I said looking up at him. In the light I realized that he looked about my age and was very attractive. It has been five months since that night and Nick and I have been a couple for about a month. I realized that he and his brothers were the Jonas Brothers, but before then I had a crush on him and little did I know he felt the same way.

“Nick what are you doing?! It’s pouring down rain outside, go home.” I said to Nick who was standing outside my window. After we started dating it didn’t take long for my Dad to object to his only daughter dating a teenage rock star.
“Baby, I won’t go ‘til you come outside.” He said standing there being stubborn.

I decided to be just as stubborn. I shut my window and pulled my curtains shut. I heard something hit my window. I got up and looked out my window, Nick was still there. I opened my window again, but before I could tell him to go home again he cut me off.
“I’ll keep tossing these rocks at your window; don’t turn back, please not tonight.” He said looking me straight in the eye. I hadn’t been able to see him in a little over a week, every time he would come, but I would never come out.

Here's how we do:
I grabbed my shoes from my closet; I was so tired of not being with Nick. I pulled them on my feet and laced up my shoe laces. I walked back to my window and saw Nick still waiting for me. I smiled and he did too. “C’mon the coast is clear.” He said looking back to the door then to me. I climbed out of the window and was on the roof, but I was not stopping.

I was about to go down the column when I saw my Dad go up the stairs. I hoped he wouldn’t go in my room, but I knew he would. He was so over protective, as I started to climb back up I heard Nick’s smooth voice whisper to me “Run baby run, don’t ever look back. They’ll tear us apart if you give them the chance. Don’t sell your heart; don’t say we’re not meant to be. Just run baby forever we’ll be you and me.”

I was walking home when I saw Nick’s car beside me, I couldn’t help but smile. I looked at him, he was smirking.
“C’mon Peyton…” He said; I loved the way he said my name. I got goose bumps every time, I thought for a moment, but then all I could do was nod my head when I thought about my father.
“Say yes baby come with me I’ll be wishing, wanting, yours for the taking.” He pleaded once again.
“No Nick I can’t, not today my dad-” I said, but he cut me off.
“Just sneak out you don’t have to tell a soul goodbye.” He said as I looked deep into his eyes.

“Come with me, it’s only for a little while. Your Dad will never know.” I looked around for any sign of anyone, I bit my lip. “Here’s the countdown 3…2…1…” He said as I ran around and got in the car smiling a smile that only showed up when Nick was with me. I fell into his arms and kissed him, I never wanted things to be this way, but my father just didn’t understand. My happiness instantly vanished when I saw my father’s car pull up behind us. He got out and I have not seen my father that angry ever he opened the door and pulled me out.
“What am I going to do with you change the locks?” He asked…I wasn’t sure how to respond so I kept quiet. I got in the car and when we got home I got grounded. As I was sitting in my room working on my home work I got a text from Nick <3: They can change the locks, just don’t let them change your mind.

That night Nick came to me, like he always did. He parked his car away and climbed up on my roof. I heard tapping on my window. I already had on my shoes and I was ready to go. I opened it and saw Nick there with a real smile on his face. I grabbed my bag and stepped out. Nick grabbed my waist to steady me and I felt so safe. A few minutes later we were both in the car riding into the night together.

We drove and drove for hours until finally we pulled over.
“I love you Peyton so much.” Nick said not taking his eyes off me.
“Nick I love you too.” I said kissing him, but he pulled away. “I’ll love you forever. No matter what your Dad says about me being a rock star.” I smiled “I know…” I said smiling happily, he kissed me and I thought I am glad I ran.
