Conflicting Blood {Vampire} ch2
“I win!” I exclaimed as I collapsed onto the soft earthy ground, my breathing coming in heavy pants. A moment later Caleb dropped to ground beside me in a similar manner. His chest heaving as he breathed in the fresh forest air.
It took us a minute or two to catch our breath, but when we finally did he chuckled soft and low. “Only because I let you.” I shook my head with a small smile as I laid down, my back on the firm ground. My eyes, and my mind, drifted to the clouds above us as they cast shadows over the grassy clearing we lay in. Though I did not look over, I could hear Caleb as he relaxed, laying down.
“I won and you know it.” I corrected him. My eyes left the clouds and I rolled onto my stomach, propping my head up on my hands as I looked at over at him.
His face looked almost exactly like his older brother’s. Same playful hazel eyes that would show brilliant splinters of red when he was excited or pleased. Same black hair, though not as dark of a black as his brother’s, that hung in an attractive mess around his eyes, yet never seeming to fall in front of them. His chuckle, low and smooth. His silky-smooth voice, charming and entrancing, low and yet manly soft at the same time. The perfect mix.
Caleb only worked out from time to time, much less than you would expect for his body. He was well muscled, all down. Smooth bulging biceps that looked startling impressive even when he was not flexing. Perfectly sculpted, six pack abs were carved into his hard stomach. The type that would draw your eyes to them, without looking overbearing and unnatural. They were smooth and wonderful, fitting in perfectly with the rest of his muscled frame. Natural. Realistic. Impressive.
His height was average for a twenty year old, about the only average thing about him. He stood at six foot four. Tall, but not to tall. My eyes scanned up his body to his face as he smiled up at the sky, totally oblivious to my mental examination of his appearance.
Just as his brother, he was handsome and charming. His personality admirable, for with a body such as his he could easily be stuck up and snobbish. Caleb was a mix of everything to be envious of. He was intelligent, wise beyond his years, but not annoyingly so. Always, he would know the answer to whatever question was asked, but never boasted about it. He was suave, always knowing what to say and what to do at the right time. A hint of mystery hung around him, attracting people to him. His personality was like a magnet. Once pulled to him you could not, and would not want to, get away. He was thoughtful, sweet, and considerate of others. Never hesitating to help someone in need.
It was near impossible to not fall victim to his charm. Always graceful and flowing, his movements never came out awkward. Never did he stumble or falter in his movements. He was always sure of himself, yet never cocky. When he spoke his eyes would captivate yours, holding your attention. Around the atmosphere was calm and controlled, pleasantly so, as if any problem could be solved effortlessly. His voice, velvety smooth could coax anything out of anyone. With a word or motion, he could easily control anyone he wished to on a simple whim.
