Chapter 2
"If you're lost and feel alone, circumnavigate the globe," Coldplay- For You
It was around two o'clock when I woke up to a puppy whinning. Knowing full well that it would continue unless I comforted him I hopped out of bed. Yeah, puppies are cute, but not when they wake you up at two in the morning. Navigating my way out of my room and by the fireplace in the dark I found Tucker's tiny form hiding in the corner of the box I put him in for the night.
"Okay, come here boy," I whispered. For a two month old puppy, he sure was really heavy. Picking him up to snuggle reminded me just how lonely I really was. Yeah, I had friends, but other then that, I had no one to go to when I really needed to talk, I had no one to go to when I needed a hug or just someone to go to in general. Last year, about a week after I turned nineteen, my sister ran away. Being the youngest meant she was the most loved. With her absense my mother felt so alone she commited suicide while my father died from the amount of stress. So viola, I was left with a giant house in North Carolina and all of the families possesions, whichI sold to buy this home in Manhatten.
"What am I going to do with you," I asked him.As I snuggled him closer he licked my face. Whispering I replied back, "and I shall love you too. Now come on little one, time for bed." Before I plopped him on the bed I had to whipe the drool off of his ears so it wouldn't cake onto the bed. "Good night, Tuck," I called pulling the covers up to my chin and rolling onto my side.
Two hours laterI woke up to him howling at the rain.
