There was nothing left to do about it. We were over, and there was no way of saving it. He moved on already, he already had a new girl, or so I’ve heard. And I was left here alone, while the tears fall freely from my cheeks, sending the black of my mascara in streaks with them.

We weren’t too serious; I knew I wasn’t in love with him. But even so, break ups still hurt. It feels as though you’ve been rejected completely by the one person who you’re supposed to trust not to hurt you. When Kevin told me he thought we should break up, it wasn’t heart break I was feeling, it was rejection. I didn’t deal with rejection to well, obviously.

I haven’t left my apartment in a week. I hadn’t felt the need, or had the motivation to go anywhere, to do anything. Which is why on Saturday, I wasn’t even the least bit surprised when my friends Abby and Nikki threw the front door wide open without even knocking. They stood in front of me as I lounged on my comfortable couch.

“You’re coming to a party tonight.” I raised my eyebrows, shoving a spoonful of Trix into my mouth. I chewed slowly and swallowed before answering.

“Oh am I?” I asked, shoveling another heaping spoonful of deliciousness into my watering mouth. Abby rolled her eyes at my lady-like eating habits.

“Yes, and you’ll be ready by eight.” Nikki spoke now, with confidence and authority standing strong in her voice. I just shrugged, swallowing the cereal.

“Kay.” I answered, raising another spoonful to my mouth. Abby bit her lip, before grabbing the spoon out of my hand, and then taking the bowl.

“What the hell?!” I asked with a pout as I sunk further into the couch.

“Learn how to eat correctly.” She shot back, before raising the spoon to her own mouth. I rolled my eyes, and threw my feet up on the coffee table, ignoring the two as they sat on the couch beside me. “Get some class, Zarabelle.” Abby groaned, pushing my legs off of the table. I rolled my eyes again, and returned them to their comfortable position on the cherry wood table.

“So, whose party are we making an appearance at tonight?” I asked, glaring slightly as my eyes intently watched Abby take the last bite of my Trix.

“Andrew’s,” Nikki replied, laughing at me slightly. I raised my eyebrows in her direction. “Clouthier.” I nodded as his face met his name in my head.

“I’m guessing the whole team is going to be there, then?” I inquired out loud, already knowing the answer.

Taylor said everyone who’s anyone is going to be there.” Abby chimed in, her eyes glazing over at the mention of her boyfriend, Taylor Carnevale.

“Lovely.” I mumbled under my breath, luckily going unnoticed by both girls.

Unfortunately for me, six o’clock rolled by quicker than I would have liked, and seven was peaking around the corner. I tugged at my white tank top and shrugged before putting some curl gel in my damp hair to keep the curl, but eliminate the frizz. I easily applied my usual dark makeup, and straightened my bangs to make them fall over my forehead right.

I walked in my bedroom to find that my outfit was already picked out for me. No surprise there. Laid out on my bed was a simple bright pink with white writing Hollister shirt, and light skinny jeans. I got dressed, and put on a white bead necklace and several bracelets. I smiled at my reflection and glanced at my phone.

“Fuck.” I said to myself, as my eyes met with the time. 8:03. I rushed to my closet and pulled out my white Uggs, and slipped my feet in them just as there was a knock at the door.

I smiled at the sight of Taylor. He leaned in and gave me a small hug.

“They made me come get you because it’s snowing.” He said with a light eye roll. I just laughed and closed the door behind me, making sure I had my keys, some money and my phone in my pockets.

A smirk instantly rose to my face as we entered Andrew’s large apartment. I spotted him immediately talking to a group of the guys, and ditched my friends. I smirked upon approaching Drew from behind, and wrapped my arms around his middle as I stepped to stand beside him.

“Zarabelle! I’m so glad you could make it babe.” He stopped his conversation to kiss my forehead, and to wrap an arm around me. “Haven’t seen you around in a while.” He stated, taking a drink from his red plastic cup. I shrugged nonchalantly, while stealing his cup.

“Ah, you know how it is.” He raised his eyebrows, watching me take a drink of his alcohol.

“Actually, I don’t, mind telling me what it’s like to not leave your apartment for a week straight?” I replied with a cheeky smile, handing him his drink back, before walking out of his grip and straight towards the kitchen.

There weren’t many people here, thankfully, but enough to consider the get together a party. I could spot many guys from the team in various places around the apartment, and their girlfriends around. Random friends of the guys were standing around, and to my relief, everyone had a red cup with them.

I reached into the fridge, to the way back, knowing my Bacardi 151 would be back there, just like it always was. I grabbed a plastic cup off the counter, and began filling it with half 151, and half coke, knowing it would be strong as hell, but also knowing it would be well worth it. I chugged a bit, shuddering slightly at the taste, before filling it back up with more coke.

I walked back to the living room, where mostly everyone had gathered to watch the game. Toronto was taking on the Panthers, and everyone was cheering for the Leafs.

Finding no where to sit, and not really fancying the idea of sitting on the floor, I squeezed in between Dalton Prout and Stefan Della Rovere. Stefan threw me a wink before throwing his arm comfortably over my shoulder. I slightly leaned into him, feeling a bit awkward being practically on top of Dalton when his girlfriend was on the other side of him.

I had never really talked to Stefan much. He was always there, but he never really showed interest in me. He always had a girl on his arm, and I was quite happy to see him all alone tonight.

I wasn’t even going to try to deny that he isn’t good looking, a matter of fact, he is overly attractive. He’s got as much sex appeal as a Playboy Bunny on Hef’s centerfold choosing day.

Taking a long drink of my amazing mixture the puck dropped on the large TV screen. Must be nice to have rich parents, huh?

Smirking again, I leaned over Stefan, making sure to press my whole front pressed against him. I grabbed Stephen Gaskin’s drink out of his hand, knowing it would be SoCo, and replaced it with my drink. He smiled and shook his head, raising my cup to his lips. I leaned back slowly, taking my body off of Stefan’s, only to be pulled closer into his side. My smirk grew. Closing my eyes, I chugged down half of Steve’s drink, before feeling him replace it with my own. I laughed lightly as I realized he did the same, and my cup was just about empty.

I watched as the players on the ice battled in the corner for the puck, Florida coming out victorious in the small battle, only to have it get lodged back in the corner. Now, I wasn’t a puck bunny, I actually loved hockey, and played it since I was little. I just didn’t choose to be a fan of the Leafs, shocking to many people in Ontario.

Biting my lip, I watched as Abby stood from the loveseat with an empty cup. My eyes caught hers, as I gave her a hopeful face, waving my empty plastic cup in the hair. She rolled her eyes but nodded anyway, making her way to the kitchen.

The game just ended, with the Leafs coming out on top, and neither Stefan nor I had moved once, as we both got other people to get our drinks for us. My vision was far from straight, and I knew if I got up, I would be forced to sit back down due to the amount of alcohol I consumed.

I didn’t want to move, Stefan’s body was warm as I was cuddled up to it, my eyes getting heavier as his fingers traced shapes on the expose skin of my hip bones.

But at the same time, I knew if I sat there any longer, I was sure to fall asleep. I took a deep breath before pushing myself off of the couch, careful not to spill my drink. I didn’t get to far though, I was pulled right back down into Stefan’s lap.

“Please don’t get up. You’re warm.” He whispered into my hair. I giggled and nodded a bit, cuddling back into him, before taking another big drink. The smell of his Axe intoxicated me further, as I felt his fingers playing with my curls.

I took my head off of his chest to look at him. I immediately lost myself in his intense brown eyes. Before I knew it, his soft lips were on mine, his hands finding their way to my waist. Thankfully for us, everyone shifted to the game room down the hall to play some Madden.

I knew Stefan’s reputation, but that didn’t stop me from kissing back. I knew he was a ladies man, had girls wrapped round his finger. It didn’t bother me much though, as my mind was spinning, and loving the feeling of his lips on mine.

He deepened the kiss lightly, before pulling away, and reattaching his lips to my neck. I bit my lip, hoping I wouldn’t moan as he hit my soft spot.

He pulled away completely, and returned his eyes to mine.

“C’mon.” He spoke, standing, taking me with him. He took my hand, leading me to Drew’s room. He locked the door behind me, before attacking my neck with his lips, resting his hands lightly on my hips.

“Stefan.” I giggled. “That tickles!” I squealed, causing him to pull away, and give me a cute smile. His eyes didn’t leave mine as he looked at me for a minute or so.

“You’re gorgeous.” He said seriously, watching me intently for a reaction. A smirk rose to my features.

“Well, Della Rovere, if this is your way to get me in bed, I’d suggest you give up now. I only sleep with more experienced boys.” A matching smirk fixed itself on his lips.

“Is that so? Baby, I could make you scream.” My cheeks turned red, but not because I was blushing. I liked where this conversation was going.

“Oh?” I asked lightly, loving the look he was giving me. He let out a low ‘mhm’ that made me shudder in delight.

Before I could even think about taking a deep breath to calm myself, his hot breath was felt against my right ear. I bit down on my lip fiercely, hoping the pain of my teeth digging into my flesh, and the metallic taste of my blood would cancel out the other emotions that were running through my body.

“Well, I start with my fingers,” He whispered lightly, with a husky edge, brushing his fingers across my left cheek, right under my left ear. My skin broke out into tiny goose bumps and the hair on the back of my neck stood at once. “And then I finish off with my tongue.” My eyes snapped shut, as he flicked his tongue over my earlobe before tugging at it gently with his teeth. An electric jolt shot through my body, as I found it completely impossible to resist from the intense lust any longer.

There was just something about Stefan Della Rovere as he led me by hand out of Drew’s apartment and down the street to his empty apartment that I just couldn’t resist.
