30 Days with Prince Obnoxious, What Could Go Wrong? [Part 11]

Melissa had a nice conversation with Jason, and for the first time since she arrived in Vallencia, she actually felt a bit more happy than she had felt all of her life. Alexander was confused with his own feelings when he saw Jason and Melissa talking and laughing together.

[Day 5]

"Melissa...what is that?" Emily asked curiously, pointing to my play-doh. I grinned. It was still very chilly outside, but no snow in sight yet.

We were playing play-doh outside in the garden, despite the horrible weather. Emily had done like 60 types of food with her play-doh. An amazing job, I must say.

"It's a cat, see?" I said, smiling. Mind you, I'm very proud of my work this time - I'm not that creative.

She nodded and tilted her head to the right, surveying my play-doh.

"Melissa?"

"Yeah?" I answered, still looking at Emily - who was still surveying my clay cat.

"Do cats normally have 7 legs?" she asked, stunned and a tad frightened.

I laughed weakly.

To put it simply, I'm not the next Da Vinci either.

"Oh my God. Are you trying to make the girl traumatize with your work of...'art'?"

I looked to my left and blushed so hard, it made Emily gasped in horror. "Melissa! You're turning into a tomato again!"

That made me blush more. The green-eyed (the most brightest I had ever seen!) guy poked my cheeks. "No she's not, she's just embarrassed," he said teasingly.

I bit my bottom lip.

"What do you want?" I snapped. I know him from somewhere...I think his name was Jason or something.

"You-" he paused.

"Can I borrow her for a bit Emily?" he said to her in a childish manner. Emily grinned widely and nodded.

"Wha-" I started but was interrupted by the brown dude's hand on my shoulder.

"By the way sweetheart, cats do not have 7 legs," he said to Emily before dragging me along with him.

"Jason. Jason Thomas," he said, patting the ground next to him. I was reluctant at first, before he gave me his best puppy-dog eyes and unconciously, my knees dropped to the ground and for the next second, I was already sitting next to him.

Right there and then, I knew this guy didn't even have to try hard to make someone happy.

His presence was so warm, it made me forget about the weather!

"Melissa Winters, but I think you know me from er...yesterday's..." I trailed off, not wanting to get into detail. I'm trying to forget about that. But the buzz was still around. Not to mention I got 39 missed calls from my friends and from my classmates who wants details.

Some of them just wants to be my friends.

Pathetic isn't it? Just because I had scolded the prince senseless, they want to befriend me. Psh!

Jason nodded and smiled. "Of course I remember you. Alex had told me everything. Seems like it was his fault," he said. I shook my head.

"No need to defend him, love, he's always the cocky, arrogant, obnoxious wanker," Jason said in his British accent. I blushed more.

"And you really need to stop blushing," he said playfully.

I covered my face with my right hand since I started to blush more if that's possible! Suddenly, I feel so self-conscious.

"So, how are you feeling?" Jason asked hurriedly, sensing my discomfort.

"Um, fine now. Thanks."

For the past hour, I learned that Jason was 20 years old like the Prince himself, he was also one of Alex's best friends. Jason is childish for a guy his age, but he can be serious and mature in a blink of an eye too. It was amazing to me.

Oh yeah, and we share the same taste in muffins.

Despite his gorgeous looks, he doesn't have a girlfriend yet. His reason being that he's very picky.

Jason is also an aristocrat; currently, he owns 5 private jets (when he told me that, my eyes almost popped out of their sockets!).

"Melissa, I'm hungry,"

I let out a small scream.

When did Emily get so close right next to me?!

Jason smiled at me. His gorgeous, warm smile.

I was tempted to say, "Go away Emily!" and make out with Jason.

But I know I have to get rid of this feeling fast, before this whole crush thing turns into love. And unfortunately for me, I have this feeling that it would be one-sided.

I got up and said goodbye to Jason, but he stopped me.

"Hey Melissa," he said.

"What?"

"If you have some time off, maybe I could carry you in my arms and try to figure out if you're my type of girl or not?" he said playfully and winked.

I laughed. "I doubt it. You're too picky."

"Worth a try," he said in his childish voice.

"Are you serious?" I asked. I never know if he's being serious or not.

"I am. There's a ball a week from now held here-"

"I hate dancing."

What the hell am I doing? I thought. It was as if I was turning him down, and yet I really...want to go...

"Stop giving excuses Melissa," he said playfully sternly. I laughed.

"Fine then," I said, grinning.

My mood lift so high after meeting Jason, I swear I felt like I was floating. Jason made me laugh so hard for the first time since I had stepped my foot in this palace.

I'm happy again.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Alex stared at Jason, then to Melissa, from his balcony. His legs were on the black steel coffee table, a laptop on his stomach.

He was confused.

Confused because seeing both of them together made him somewhat pissed off.
