Chapter 8

Once again, you found yourself looking deeply into Yugi's violet eyes.

He was looking right back at you.

You felt a blush creep its way to your cheeks, and you saw the same thing happening to him.

His eyes then opened wide and he turned to the side with his blush getting redder.

You blinked.

'Wha-'?

Just then you noticed why he did that...

YOU WERE IN THE SILKY NIGHT GOWN THAT YOU GOT FOR YOUR LAST BIRTHDAY.

It...was quite revealing.

'OH NO!!!' you screamed in your head. 'How could I have forgotten?!' you ran back to your room and shut the door.

Tristan, Joey, Bakura, and Duke all had slight blushes on thier faces and were looking down or to the side.

"Oops! Um...I'll be right back!!" your mother gasped to everyone and then hurried after you.

(In Your Room)

You had a bright blush on your face as you looked for something to change into.

"That was SO embarrassing!" you whispered.

How could you forget you were not completely dressed?!

Well...when your mother told you you had friends over, you must have been so confused and curious that you forgot you were still in your night gown...not only that, but there was that feeling that Yugi was at your house, and that feeling made your mind go completely blank and you just had to see if the feeling was right...

And, IT WAS.

Too bad for you though, that you had to see him again on such embarrassing circumstances...

You felt like you wanted to hide in a place where no one could find you...EVER.

You were SO embarrassed!!

Just then you heard a light knock on your door and your mother poke her head in.

"Oh hun! I'm sorry! I was too preoccupied and happy that you made some new friends at school that I forgot you were still in your nightgown! I should have reminded you to change! I'm sorry..." your mother had a sad pouting look on her face.

"Oh! No mom! It's okay! Don't feel bad! It's not your fault..." you said still blushing "I should have noticed it myself..."

"Do you still want to go out there hun? If you don't, I can tell them that you are still not feeling well..."

You shook your head "Oh, no, it's alright mom. I'm okay. I'll still go out there..."

"Alright. If your sure hun. "

"I'm sure." you answered.

"Okay. I'll tell them you'll be out in a little bit." your mother smiled and shut the door.

You sighed as you sat on your bed.

What a crazy day this was turning out to be!

You felt like you really didn't want to go back out there, but at the same time you did...

You still could NOT BELIEVE Yugi was at your house!

How crazy and amazing was THAT?!

Also, you heard your mother say "them", so, you wondered who else was at your house.

As soon as you saw Yugi on your couch, you did'nt notice anyone else
in the room...

"Wait..."

You suddenly got the feeling that "them" was probably Tristan and the others...

"How did they get my address?" you thought.

DID you give it to them?

You wondered if you may have forgotten that detail when you blacked out...

You paused.

'Uh-Oh...'

A sudden feeling of uneasiness went through you.

What if you forgot OTHER stuff that happend and still could not remember?

Oh no...what else did you forget?

You rubbed your head and sighed.

'Why is all this crazy stuff happening to me?' you thought frowning.

Actually, you thought the things involving Yugi were REALLY great (well...except the night gown incident that just happend earlier...), but everything else confused you INSANELY.

You felt like you were in some sort of drama movie...or a soap opera...or...

You really had no idea...

(In The Living Room)

"She will be right back out!" your mother smiled at everyone in the room "Would you all like some snacks?"

Joey cheered "Oh! Yes ma'am!! Oh PLEASE!!!"

"Joey don't be rude!" Tea' scolded.

"Whaaat? She was the one that asked!!" Joey pouted.

Your mother laughed. "Oh, it's okay! I'll be right back! Do you want some juice?"

Joey cheered again "Yaaaay juice!!!"

"I'll take that as a yes." your mother chuckled and went into the kitchen.

"You are such a piglet Joey..." Tea' stated.

Joey glared at her "Hey! No I'm not! Leave me alone Tea'!"

"You do eat a lot Joey..." Tristan added.

"Look who's talkin'!" Joey shouted "Yesterday you swiped my hambuger when I wasn't lookin' at lunch!"

"Well, you were taking too long trying to decide if you were going to get the vanilla pudding or the chocolate pudding for desert! Pretty soon flies were gonna get all over it!"

"That doesn't mean you can just take what's not yours!"

"Now look who's talking! You take people's stuff all the time!!"

"Shaddup!"

"No, YOU shut up!!"

"Make me!"

"I will!"

"Your hair makes you look like a UNICORN!!"

"..."

"Hee hee heeee..."

"YOU'RE DEAD!!!"

"Now, come on you two, settle down! We don't want to have a fight here in (your/names)'s house! That would make a horrible impression for all of us!!" Bakura cut in.

"It' hopeless Bakura...it will take a lot more to get that fact through thier thick skulls..." Tea' sighed with her eyes closed and arms crossed.

"It's not me! It's the dumb blonde over here!" Tristan protested pointing at Joey.

"HEY!! I am NOT a dumb blonde!! Ya Jerk!!" Joey tackled Tristan to the ground.

"See...what did I tell you? Hopeless..." Tea' shook her head from side to side.

Bakura and Duke rushed over to Tristan and Joey and tried to break up the fight.

"It's just so typical of these two to act like this, isn't it Yugi?" Tea' turned towards Yugi. "Uh...Yugi?"

Yugi was staring at the ground in thought with his hand over his chest, blushing, with his expression looking like he was slightly in pain.

'That painful feeling in my heart...I feel it again after just seeing her...why is it that when I see her, I feel so sad? Why do both me and Atem feel like this? I don't understand...' he thought and then his blush deepend 'I...can just imagine how embarrassed she is...I...hope she does come back out...' his blush intensified 'She...looked so beautiful in that gown...she...always looks beautiful...wait. I mean...uh...!!!!' Yugi felt his blush completely consume his face. 'Ahhhh! What's happening to me?! I...uh...!!!'

"Earth to Yugi?" Tea' asked slightly annoyed. 'What is WITH him?' she thought 'He's been like this ever since he met that new girl...'

Tea' froze.

'No...it can't be...Yugi doesn't...like her...I mean...he just met her...why would he...?'

Tea' thought for a minute just staring at Yugi.

'I...REALLY don't like this...' she thought in her head.

Your mother walked into the room smiling as she carried a tray full of snacks and juice. "Here you are everybody..." she them froze and gasped. "Oh no! What happend?!"

Tristan and Joey had quickly stopped fighting and stood up straight in a flash with bruises all over thier faces and thier clothes ruffled.

"Um...nothing miss!" Tristan replied gulping.

"Uhhh, that's right! Nothin' miss!!" Joey said quickly.

Your mother blinked "Well...okay...if you say so...do you two need bandages?"

"Yes please..." they said in unsion bowing.

Your mother nodded and turned to leave when she paused and looked at Yugi.

"Um, excuse me...."

Yugi looked up over at her.
"Uh...yes ma'am?"

"You...look familiar. Are you perhaps, Yugi Muto?"

"Oh, uh, yes miss. I am..."

Your mother smiled. "I heard a LOT about you Yugi..."

"Really?" Yugi asked blinking.

Your mother laughed "I sure did.
Let's just say I know a certain someone who...REALLY knows a lot about you."

"Huh?" Yugi was still blinking.

Your mother laughed again and disappeared down the hallway to get some bandages.

Everyone stared after her blinking and confused.

Joey then grinned.

"Oooh! I think I know what she means!"

"Seriously?" Tristan asked
"Wow...everybody take cover and hide! Joey's thinking!!"

Everybody laughed.

Joey glared and raised his fist to Tristan "If I was you, I'd shut my mouth RIGHT NOW Tristan! Anyway..." Joey turned to Yugi "Looks like you got a girl who has a crush on ya!!" Joey winked at Yugi and patted him on the back.

"Wha-?" Yugi's mouth dropped open and he blushed.

Tea' glared at Joey "And just how do you know that's what she meant?!"

"Trust me Tea', I know this stuff..." Joey crossed his arms with a triumphant smile on his face.

"I hate to admit it Joey, but it's kinda hard to take your word for things...you are usually 7 out of 10 times wrong..." Duke admitted.

"Hey!!" Joey fumed.

"Really? I thought it was 9 out of 10!" Tristan teased.

Everyone laughed again.

Well...except Yugi...he was still blushing.

"Gaaah! You are all real jerks!! Ya know that?! No respect..." Joeygrumbled angrily pouting.

'What if Joey's right?' Yugi thought 'What...if she meant (your/name) has a crush on me?! Oh WOW...' Yugi began to fidget with his fingers while his blush grew.

"For some reason, I really don't think that was the case..." Duke cut in.

Everyone looked at him.

"Huh? Why do ya say that?" Joey asked dumbfounded.

"Well...I don't want to point out the obvious, but...Yugi isn't exactly the type of guy to have a girl crushing on him...I mean...okay Yugi, don't take this the wrong way, I am just pointing out the facts, but, you...well...you are REALLY short..."

There was a silence in the room.

Yugi froze.

He then crashed to the ground.

"Thanks a lot..." he mumbled sadly.

"That wasn't nice Duke!" Tea' glared.

"Yeah! Who cares if Yugi's as short as one of those little nomb things people put in thier front yards?!" Joey added.

Yugi crashed to the ground again.

"Gee...thanks Joey..."

"Don't mention it pal!" Joey grinned stupidly.

Yugi sighed sadly again.

Who was he to think a girl that beautiful even liked him a little? It was an incredible thought but...

Yugi sighed heavily with his head hanging down looking at the ground.

He wished he wasn't so short...

Tea' was looking at Yugi while the others all began to have a conversation about cheese fries.

How they went and switched to that topic no one knew...

Her eyebrows furrowed.

'The way he's acting...it's as if he wanted it to be true that a girl had a crush on him! But...why? And...who?'

Tea's frown deepend.

'I don't like this...not one bit...'

(In The Hallway)

You had come out of your room just as you saw your mother walk by your door with a box of bandages.

"Mom? What are those for?" you asked.

Your mother turned towards you.

"Oh! Hello hun! These? They are for your friends..."

You blinked "Huh? What happend?"

"Oh, apparently two of your new friends got into a little fight...they thought they could hide it from me, but I could tell!" your mother laughed.

"Yikes! Are they okay?" you asked.

"Don't worry dear, they're fine! That is so typical of young boys to be rough housing around!" she chuckled.

You simled and laughed a bit "Yeah...true."

"Oh! By the way (your/name), so, it turns out one of your friends is that famous cute Yugi Muto, hmmm?" your mother chuckled.

"M-mom!" you stuttered and blushed.

"He seems like a pretty nice boy...I think he likes you too hun..."

You paused "Wait...what? Huh?? Mom!!" you were getting so embarrassed!!

Your mother laughed.

"From what I've seen, he looks like quite the gentleman. But, if he treats you badly when you two get together, he will have to answer to me and your father!!"

You were embarrassed and confused at the same time.

"Huh? Wait! Mom! How...do you know we will get together? Wait! How do you know he likes me? Wait! Mom! Get back here!!"

Your mother started walking towards the living room,"Trust me hun, a mother knows these things!" she laughed.

You followed after her blushing bright red.

Just how many times did you actually blush the past few days?

'To many to count...' you thought as you arrived back in the living room.

You saw your mother handing the bandages to Tristan and that blonde guy.

'Wow...so I WAS right. They ARE the others that were here!' you thought.

You looked over and saw Yugi with his head hanging down and his eyes closed sadly.

'Oh no! What's wrong with Yugi?' you thought.

You noticed that Tea' girl looking at him like she was deep in thought.

She then looked up at you and blinked.

She must have not noticed you walked into the room...

She smiled at you and said cheerfully "Hey! Your back!"

"Oh...uh...yeah. I'm back..." you said embarrassed.

You saw Yugi's eyes open and widen as he realized you were back in the room and then a blush appeared on his face as he continued to stare at the ground.

You blinked.

'Why won't he look at me?' you thought 'Well...what happend earlier was embarrassing...oh no...that's probably what the reason is...!!' you looked at the ground and blushed too.

Then a thought hit you.

You thought about what your mother said just a few minutes ago...

'...I think he likes you too hun...'

You gasped quitely.

Could...she be...RIGHT?

Your blush intensified.

'Woah!!' you were speechless. 'But, why would the Yugi Muto like ME? I just got a duel disk, like, TODAY! I was never in any tournaments!! And...WOW!!'

Little did you know that what you were thinking in your head was very simliar to what Yugi was thinking...

'I'm so embarrassed! How could I think she likes me? Just look at her! I feel so dumb! What would she want with a short guy like me? I...arrrgh!! I have to get out of here before I humiliate myself or...something!!'

'Now Yugi...just calm down.' Yugi heard Atem speak in his mind.

All of Yugi's thoughts were so loud they broke Atem out of his trance when he was deep in thought himself.

He did'nt even notice Yugi was at (your/name)'s house already...he had been pondering on things for so long...

But, it was not like he could'nt help it...he was just so confused with everything that was happening...

Yugi's blush grew. 'But...how can I?! Just LOOK at her Atem!!'

Atem appeared in his ghost form outside of Yugi's body and looked.

'I know...she is very beautiful..." he said softly in a whisper.

He could feel the pain go through his chest at seeing her again.

The unexplainable feelings of longing...of wanting her...were appearing again...

He looked at how she was talking to Tea' and Bakura.

He watched as she ran her fingers through her hair and how her bright eyes lit up and sparkled.

He saw her laugh softly at a joke that Joey made and how her hand went to cover her mouth.

Atem blinked.

Her laugh was...simply adorable.

Her prescene...was so soothing.

It was like just him being near her made him feel complete with undescribable feelings that were so overwhelming...

Atem had to look away.

The unexplainable feelings that were inside of him were to much to bare...

'These feelings...where do they come from? Why...do I feel this?'

He looked at her from out the corner of his eye.

It was as if he was hypnotized.

Her lips looked so soft...so...kissable...

"..."

Atem froze.

"!!!"

What did he just think?!

Atem looked at the ground with shock. His cheecks flushing a light pink.

Just what was going on with him?!

'...Atem? Atem?' he heard Yugi say in his mind.

He snapped out of the trance he seemed to be in and looked at Yugi. "Hm? Yes Yugi?"

'Do you see what I mean Atem?! Everytime I am around her, I feel like I'm completely frozen and all I can do is stare right at her! You feel the same way too, right? How are we ever going to be able to try and ask and see if she might know just whats going on?!' Yugi had a sad expression on his face.

Atem's eyebrows furrowed as he thought about that.

'Hm...I see what you mean.' Atem turned and gave a quick glance at (your/name) again and then turned back around. 'But, all we have to do is trust in ourselves Yugi. I assure you we will be able to get to the bottom of all of this. We always have in any situation we were faced with.'

Yugi nodded but the look of worry was not gone from his face.

'Yeah...we always have, but, we were never put in any situation like this. I mean...you know.' a blush made it's way to Yugi's face.

Atem's eyes widened a bit, and then he closed his eyes as a
light pink blush made it's way across his face.

'Yes...I agree...'

(Back To You)

You laughed at how Joey and Tristan were making jokes about one another and were play wrestling on the floor.

You had to admit those two were so silly and funny...

Everone had introduced themselves to you.

They all seemed really nice.

They all had asked if you were alright and feeling better.

They also told you about how there was no school Friday. (apparently the school was preparing for the next semester, and all the teachers would be having falculty meetings.)

'Wait a minute...' you thought 'That's when Kaiba's having his second Battle City torunament! Wow...he must have planned the whole thing from the beginning...'

Currently Bakura was laughing at Joey and Tristan's actions while Tea' shook her head at the two wrestling on the floor and laughed too.

It was then that you noticed that you saw that "Duke" guy staring at you for some reason.

His green eyes just watched you...

You wondered if something was on your face...

To help avoid you from looking right back at his gaze, you looked over at Yugi.

You did not hear from him in awhile...

He made no sound at all and was just sitting on the corner of the couch way on the other side of the room where you and everybody else were.

'I wonder if he's ok...' you thought in concern.

You then gasped and froze.

What you saw made your mouth drop open and your eyes practically pop out of your head.

You saw...a guy that looked A LOT like Yugi standing RIGHT NEXT TO HIM with his back facing you...

And...he was transparent.

It was like he was...a...ghost.

You rubbed your eyes.

'I have to be seeing things! This must be a trick of the light! It, has to be!!' you thought.

When you were finished rubbing your eyes, the image you saw was gone.

'HUH???' you thought in your head.

What was that?? What just happend???

You had no idea...

Kalberry: AN UPDATE!! FINALLY! ARGH!! My parents were making me study like CRAZY for the exam finals at my school!! -pouts- But, NOW THEY ARE OVER!!! (YAY!!!) OH. MY. GOSH...WOAH!! Apparently, you can see Yami(Atem) when he is in his ghost form outside of Yugi!!! Talk about COOL!!!-gasps-

Tristan: Hey...why was Duke staring at her??

Kalberry: Heh heh heh...oh, you'll find out soon enough Tristan...I ASSURE you...hee heee...

Tristan: -eyes widen- You wouldn't...YOU COULD'NT!!

Kalberry: Ohhhh, but I WILL!! Mwahahaha!! -plays crappy scarey music from an old record she has from the 80's-

Tristan: EVIL!! You are EVIL!!!!

Kalberry: Naaaah...just to you I am...-grins- ^__^

Tristan: If he even TRIES to take her from me...I'll...I'LL-!!!

Kalberry: Hey! Who says she belongs to YOU anyway?!

Tristan: Eh heh heh...well...uh...-scratches the back of his head grinning sheepishly-

Kalberry: That's what I thought...now, be quiet before I throw more cereal boxes at you! I have a box of "Captain Crunch" and I'm not afraid to use it!!!

Tristan: o_0 -backs away slowly-

Kalberry: Heh heh heh...that shut him up...now, PLEASE REVIEW AND RATE GIRLS!!! I have missed you all SO MUCH!!! But, now, I AM BACK!! YAY!! No more tests at my school untill Feburary the 15!! THANK GOSH. Also, I will most likely be posting chapter 9 tommorrow...it's already written...-laughs- In fact, I am halfway done with chapter 10 already...lol! Hooray for fast good updates!!! -throws cupcakes in the air-

Joey: FOOD!! -grabs all the cupcakes-
