30 Days with Prince Obnoxious, What Could Go Wrong? [Part 13]

Jason and Melissa shared a little time outside together, away from the ballroom. Melissa confessed to Jason about her homesickness, and Jason tried to cheer her up. Prince Alexander, on the other hand, met Ella - The Duke's daughter - and became a tad drunk afterward.

But unfortunately this was not some kind of a prom night where the couple dance to a sentimental love song so suddenly in the middle of a dark gym.

We were dancing to Bach's, in the middle of the room, yes, but it is well lit. The chandelier is so bright that I might be tanning under it.

So as soon as my shoulders raised up a bit and I let out a faint sob, Jason picked it up almost immediately.

"Are you okay?" he whispered in my ear. I shook my head a bit.

"Stomachache."

Not that I was lying or anything. My stomach was really churning.

These people serve their foods in such a...small...presentations. It's like, every food I ate is not more than 5cm in width and length.

And I don't drink either, so wine is out of the question.

Jason grabbed my hand and lead me out discreetly to avoid any attentions. We managed to get out of the ballroom without anyone noticing, and we went to the huge fountain at front.

"Hungry eh?" he said after listening to me complaining about how idiotic the food servings are.

"A bit. Just a stomachache that's all," I said.

After a brief moment of comfortable silence, he said, "Come on. There's more to that isn't there?"

"What do you mean?"

"You don't seem like the girl who lets out a sob if you have a mere stomachache," he said.

I shrugged. "What if I am?"

"No you're not."

"But Jason, what if?"

He looked at me, a hint of impatience in his eyes.

"...I'm homesick."

"And?"

"That's all."

He didn't push it though. I didn't want to tell him what happened in the ladies room.

"Once you see the bright side of things, the homesickness would fade away slowly. Trust me," he said, looking at the stars above.

"Trust you?" I said skeptically. He looked back down towards me and smiled warmly. A smile that would make any girl go fantasizing wildly.

"Mm," he grunted.

"I hate this place when I moved here from London," he started. "It doesn't give me the same feeling of joy whenever I walk down the street in London. I missed it so much at first that I almost threatened my father to bring me back home. I was around the age of 10 then."

Jason as a ten-year-old? That's not hard to imagine really.

"Then how'd you warm up to Vallencia?" I asked curiously.

"Think positive Melissa. This place is more peaceful and calming than any other place I had been to. It makes my brain work normally," he said half-jokingly. I chuckled.

"It would pass by in a blink of an eye, really," he said, splashing the water in the fountain lightly.

I nodded.

Hopefully things would go well. Even if I have around 22 days left to spend here.

"Hey Melissa?" Jason asked after what feels like 5 minutes. I looked towards him curiously once more.

We stayed in that position for a while. And his gaze towards me is unsettling. But for some odd reason, I like it.

Alexander was restless for some reason unknown to himself after seeing his friend and his sister's babysitter walking out.

He had drink so much wine this evening that he starts to feel slightly dizzy. He hates these type of events. People won't just get out of his way. And in order to be at least a bit relaxed, he drinks.

He really should stop drinking before falling flat on his face.

He rubbed his temple. He was restless and anxious. He needed to get some fresh air. But when he was thinking of getting up and unceremoniously sneak out of the ballroom, his mother along with Ella - the Duke's daughter that he's trying to avoid - came gliding towards him.

"Alex!" Ella caroled. He thought he might take out the cake knife and stick in into his brain.

"Ella," he replied back, twice as joyful...in a fake manner of course. When a waiter carrying a tray of at least 7 flutes of champagne with him, Alex stopped him in his track (to the waiter's utter surprise) and took the tray by force.

"Go on then. These are mine," Alex said. He needs as many alcohol in his blood to survive Ella's ramblings.

And after 10 minutes later, Alex said that he needed to go somewhere important before practically running out of the ballroom.

The first thing he saw as he walk down the path towards the huge fountain was Melissa...and Jason.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"This is going way too fast, I don't like this," I whispered to Jason as he inched towards me.

I really don't like this. I don't want to do it in the first place. But cupid is being pushy tonight. It's like something behind me push me forward to kiss Jason. Isn't that what I once dream of?

Keyword: once. Just a harmless crush. Almost everyone got that feeling right?

His hand were playing with my hair (I had let my hair loose earlier), and he was so close I could feel his hot breath. It's either that, or I am 'turning into a tomato' again.

But when I decided to go for it, there was a faint crack and before I knew it, I was being dragged down into the cold water in the fountain. My god, it felt like needles were stabbing me all over the place.

"What the hell?!" Jason yelled, the corner of his mouth bleeding. He was sitting awkwardly in a lotus position, glaring at the person who was cackling with laughter.

"What was that for?!" he yelled.

I looked at the person who had punched him.

"Ale- Your Highness?" I said, gawking.

He grinned childishly when Jason repeated his question (along with other chain of curses). Alex looked at his fist, then towards Jason.

Then he chuckled again.

"I have no idea why I did that."

"You bastard!" Jason yelled and leap out of the water. Which reminds me: why am I still sitting in this cold, cold water?

As I got up, my expensive dress all drenched, my make up running and my hair wet, Jason was already tackling Alex to the ground.
